I thought it was a pretty good rationalization... No inconsistency with the cutscenes given to us, and produces the desired outcome. Your continued persistence to be hopeless is confusing to me. O_o

Well glue would be kind of pointless if mass relays are held together by energy and not adhesive (which they are). Nevertheless I get that you were joking, just thought I'd point that out.

Making a post while it's relevant.
I imagine the matriarchs aren't laughing the blue off Aethyta's ass anymore with the "new relays" idea.
Also, I blame Casey Hudson for the ending being as bad as it was.

Don't know if EVERYTHING is true in this, but it would explain a lot about the ending.

They don't even have to edit the cutscene. The mass relays are held together by a type of energy (it would be convenient if it was electromagnetic energy) they are not actually "together". So when that pulse of energy went out from the citadel to shut down/control/merge the reapers, it also caused the relays to release all of their electromagnetic energy in the form of an EMP, temporarily disabling all technology within the blast, and effectively making the parts of the relays drift apart since they are no longer being held together.

The Charon Relay was rebuilt in less than a week due to Lead Engineers Lt. Adam "Danger" Savage and Cpt. James "Walrus" Hyneman, using nothing but an abundant Earth product called "duct tape". The Arcturus Relay, where the Normandy crash-landed, was fixed by Admiral Tali'Zorah vas Normandy and her drone, Chikkita vas Paus, with help of the Normandy crew and something she described as "teh aw3s0m3 scht1ck". Within two weeks, Commander Shepard made contact with Arcturus, repairs began on the Normandy and additional relays, and an impromptu wedding performed by Admiral Hackett was held on board the flagship of the joint galactic forces.
Afterwards, Hackett resigned with the comment that he "missed the simple joys of fishing like when he was a child", and Admiral Jeff "Tug" Benson was appointed new leader of the forces as the most wounded soldier of the whole battle that was still alive.

You may put away your firearm, Miss vas Normandy. I assure you it's quite unnecessary, as I'll freely admit you are adorable without any form of coercion.bazzag wrote...

As the new human councillor (yeah, I'm replacing Udina as of now), I hereby declare that anyone who fails to realize that Tali's adorable will be declared mentally unsound, and may be interned in a psychriatric institution until reason returns to said person.

Indeed. Surely, as tali's representative on earth, Gamer should be councillor. If not for earth, then at least the first for Rannoch
