If the extended ending is just the final part of the game (The WHOLE battle for Earth, not just starchild and epilogue) reworked by the whole writing team, it'll likely be good.
That epilogue doesn't take into account things like having hopeful!Javik rather than emo!Javik, and a lot of other variables, such as rachni or promoted multiplayer classes (That's one of my pet peeves, dammit, I want Jeff and Susan Thorton, Urdnot Kretch, Ter'Nadda and the rest to get more recognition for contributing more than Shepard to the EMS)

But it's still better than what we've got. What we've got would have been a good intellectual ending if all the variables worked right. But it still would have sucked out loud, this game is character driven more than anything else.

I lurk here lots too...
It's especially often when I'm doing homework - seeing as I'm more bored while doing homework, this isn't surprising to me.

Discuss!!
Let's talk about Tali's shoulders!!!
What do they look like?

I always thought they seemed a bit similar to Atton Rand's from KOTOR 2:

Just when you thought you were alone... Just when you thought you were safe... just when you thought you had a really good idea for a ironic response... YOU WERE WRONG!

Yep that did not really work like I planned... ok nevermind nothing to see here people, move along now Vicar... :police:

In summary it was to suggest that people should always look over their shoulder in case G-G is lurking about... but it just comes accross as wierd now :?

That would give me a glaring cross-game crash, all my MP characters are named after planets in Elite. I suppose that when I unlock my last krogan I could at least make him Urdnot Zaonce, and the quarians (not unlocked any yet :( ) should be something vas Riedquat.

Quick Question, sorry if this has been answered before. Do you think at the ending of the game that if the Quarians were accepted into the Council, would Tali be made into a Spectre. I say she has the talent for it, would any agree or disagree?

I think she should be on the Council. But I'm very biased.

I think they would ask Shepard to be on the Council, at least until order was restored and he would insist Tali was the Quarian representative. Normally two Councellors being engaged in intermate relationships would be a scandal but I think the Galaxy would pretty much do whatever Shepard tells them to do at that stage. Besides gives them both a good excuse to quit once the path is clear to build that house on Rannoch.

I don't think either would suit her terribly well to be honest. She'd end up on the Council if asked because she's got a strong sense of responsibility but I get the impression that she doesn't like being in charge and doesn't like having to make big decisions. Actually that would probably mean that she would do a better job than a real politician (Douglas Adams' "On no account should anyone capable of getting themselves into a position of power be allowed to do so" quote comes to mind). A Spectre doesn't seem like her thing either. She might make the tough decisions needed for it but she's too good a person to not be traumatised by doing so:(

Would Zaal'Koris make a better councillor?

Council probably all dead anyway, the new galactic order will be  very different in some endings, in some it will be a new soild gold citadel, in another it will be famine victims braining each other with unsold copies of mass effect 3.

In seriousness I think shepard should stay out of politics he has had enough of

If anything I wonder if we need a council in the traditional sense the game shows after the events we see.  Really every damn race except the Salarians in my playthrough showed up in full force for the fight.   I wish they would have shown that more.  The Elcor on the ground with their heavy weapons mowing down husks or focus firing down a Harvester.  Or the Volus bombing fleet clearing the way.  I'd have loved to see some Drell assassins in a sniper nest providing cover.  You know things like that.  And I'd want to see the Quarian fleet take down a reaper again.

They could have done a lot with those final fight scenes really.    Anyway...

I don't know if Tali would accept a post on the council.  She became a reluctant Ambassador by accident and is still an Admiral.    So a Spectre?  No.  I can see Shep being asked to join the council though I expect it would be declined unless there was no other viable option.

Those caterpillars reminds me of a time back in school when I kicked a soccer ball into a tree. A friend of mine was standing underneath it, talking to other friends and apparently the ball hit a nest and bajillions of caterpillars landed on him. I laughed SO hard at him spazzing out trying to get them all off. Was awesome and totally accidental but awesome at the same time.

Anywho...Tali's shoulders don't really look like caterpillars to me.

I think Tali's probably toughened considerably, but as you pointed out Douglas Adams had the right idea. Having someone that doesn't like making the tough decisions make them, means that they are not taken lightly.

However, Koris probably would be a more obvious choice and he could probably do the job well. Except I think he will be more immediately needed on Rannoch, assuming the population of the civilian fleet were left behind there.

No support for councillor Xen then?...

Raan could probably be a good councillor. Tali could then take over as head of the patrol fleet if need be

Well, the subject of Tali's caterpillar shoulders is certainly debatable.
What is not debatable is that

I don't think Tali would like being in the position of authority. It's just not her style. She likes the freedom of invisibility, of being underneath the radar. She doesn't like extra attention, and while she is an amazing friend, she cannot stand strangers having expectations of her.

I think Tali's more suited to being one of those champion-type characters that disappears once troubles are over and always pops up when you need her, like Shepard.
