Brains?

Yeah, that's about as bad as it gets. It's worse when you make a spectacle about your meal though. Most brain eating practices are considered illegal but it was acceptable for a long time, and is still practiced when no one's looking.

However the middle east also cooks goat or sheep heads, so it all depends on the locale.

I'll stop now.

To be fair, they have a high zombie population. So you know... you have to make allowances.

I've had dinners for all the main holidays in america. The meat is always dry and chewy. The gravy is thin as water and pretty tasteless. The potatoes are dry and lumpy if mashed, or like half-boiled eggs when baked.  Americans seem to be terrible cooks in general.

Yes Yes, let's generalize about an entire country based on some of your experiences.  Of course you can have bad cooking.  I've had horribly cooked food in the UK, in Ireland, in France, even in Italy.  Does this mean that cooking in those country is terrible?  No, of course not.   Bad cooks are everywhere.  Should we go on to generalize other things too?  Why don't we talk about Tali and ME instead of saying X country has better cooks which is of course a useless assertion since it's all anecdotal.

Tali's waist is not normal unless Quarian organs are extremely tiny. Just like how Barbie's physical figure is literally impossible for living humans. If you wanna look like Barbie, you will literally die because organs don't have room.

She is not human, and her organ placement is entirrly different.

She could just be breathing in so she can get into that slender suit of hers...

Maybe they're just differently distributed. I don't know how, but the hips seem pretty voluptuous...

That's where the uterus and intestines go though...
The rest of the organs go in the other part of the torso that wouldn't be there if no organs were in there. Ego if all the organs of quarians were in their hips, a)males would have teeny organs, b)quarians would have no upper torso and would look like marshmallows on toothpicks.

Humans that wear corsets have hip/waist ratios FAR beyond what quarians have. It can get pretty ridiculous before any harm is done. And tali would not be puking her guts out after eating. I'm just going to assert some logic in here, so bear with me. If you ate toothpaste that had 100% of all the calories and nurtrients that you need, you would still die in a few months. The human digestive tract cannot work with a liquid or semi-liquid diet. So nutrient paste would need to deal with that somehow.

I'm betting that in the nutrient paste are lumps of a gels or foam that expand considerably in the stomach, and then solidify. These chunks of stuff would keep your digestive system from failing, and keep your stomach and esophagus from atrophying to the point where you cannot eat anything solid.

She would still have a tiny stomach though. Eat half a hamburger and curl up on the bed, groaning and moaning. I'd go over and snuggle with her and rub her sore belly until she felt better. Image IPB

Maybe the more Quarians eat, the wider their hips become.

I bet they can use combat drones for extra waste disposal duties too. Gives a new meaning to the explosive evolution.

Levo/dextro thingy makes no sense but I guess it's to make Tali and Garrus seem more alien.

Yes Tali was designed to unrealistic human "ideals" in some respects, and so are most of the female characters in games. Most quarians would be quite slim examples of their speices given that food is most likely heavily rationed on the fleet, and those on pilgrimage would maintain good practice still. But lets not think about it too much, otherwise we won't be able to enjoy anything

The levo/dextro barrier is a real thing, but bioware does it completely wrong. Chirality is the left/right "handedness" of organic molecules. Thing is, quarian food could give calories to humans, and vice versa. However, any proteins, most fats, and many complex carbs would be unrecognizable by alien digestive systems, and could cause anything from severe allergic reactions to unnoticable amounts of extra flatus. But mostly, no issues would arise other than a bit of stomachache from foreign material. We can share a giant meal with tali and snuggle with her as she digests her first meal of meat. Image IPB

This.  Some aspects of the game are there for gameplay or story reasons.  They are not going to make a female love interest that looks like Roseanne Barr for example.  And considering the Quarians backstory you won't see many, if any, overweight that are on the fleet.

On a side note: when they first designed quarians it was based of humans. Sightly smaller torso sightly larger hips and legs with "strong legs".

They seem to just label their hands as "geth"

You know, I wonder how crazy the weather can get on Rannoch...id hate for Shepard and Tali to build their beachfront property only to have it taken out by a rogue tornado or hurricane; that would suck so hard. Let's hope the geth invented some sort of weather control technology that helps keep such bad weather away...

It makes sense that it would exist, but not that it would be this huge problem they make it out to be. Apparently we can convert Dextro-amino acids into Levo-amino acids, just means we get a bit less from it due to the energy to convert it internally.

Then again, there are a lot of things in the ME universe that doesn't actually fit with science. To be fair they made what I thought was a reasonable effort for something most people wouldn't be that worried about.

The Trade off for the Quarians is we get plenty of less visualy appealing aliens, its better than star trek when every week there is a new race of "foreheadians" who are just humans with some putty on their face

Well. No moon. So the weather would be crazy. Then again, the Geth have experimented with weather control. We saw that in an ME2 scan mission (one of those things that were never followed up). On the whole though the Geth tech seemed to make the weather worse rather then better.

Thanks, I wanted to ask if you have any ideas on how to portray a , how shall I put this, "intimate but not explicit" scene between Shep and Tali, cos I'm not sure exactly how to write it?

I remember in one of the missions, it was pretty foggy.  It would be interesting to see the geth bring their weather control technology with them; we shall bring the reapers down with tornadoes!

While they wouldn't make a LI fat, I still don't think they should make them unrealistically skinny or have an unrealistically large bum.
The thing that bugs me is that you hardly ever see unrealistic males. (Pig man Chris Redfield the exception to that).
Women are consistently portrayed as unrealistically "attractive" not only in video games but everywhere. Causing women to feel insecure for no good reason, and men to have ridiculous expectations...

Just my rant for the day. XD

That always made me laugh. But of course truth was it was the limitations of being a TV show. They did occasionally introduce more exotic aliens, but usually for one off episodes. I guess it would be hard to pull off a Horta science officer. Lol.

Despite our modern technology we're still largely writing sci-fi within the limitations of it's medium. In games everyone ends up with similar body models for each race (even humans), while on TV a bit of Latex on your head is nice and cheap and allows for the parts to be easily acted out. Plus of course robots that look exactly like humans save a huge amount of budget.

Movies can get away with a lot more at least. Though everyone still ends up with near perfect bodies.

Well it would make sense that the Geth design is based on Quarian physiognomy.  Even their flashlight heads are reminiscient of aspect of the enviro-suit helmet.

Her bum isn't that big...
Anyways, I do not have these ridiculous expectations of women. I like Tali more than just 'her having a nice body' as I love her personality and who she is including what she has gone through and done for Shepard. I understand your views and why you have them but please dont generalize that every man holds that view as I dont!

I know, but the main attraction to Tali for most people is not her figure, most of my friends who have played 1 and 2 casualy just go "Chicken legs lol" Tali is partialy designed to be an ideal hourglass, and we can explain it as aliens are different, but it is a little hollow, but lets not pick on Tali, she did not get to choose what she looked like :(

She is who she is.  And we love her because of that.  Or at least like her.

I'm not picking on Tali, I'm picking on the people that designed her body and Miranda's body, etc.
It's incredibly hard to find guys that are actually into you (most likely for this reason) I've met several guys who are average to less than average looks wise saying they'll settle for nothing but a 10.
And yet every day I see tons of average looking guys getting girlfriends. The same isn't the case for women. It is incredibly hard to find someone. That's just the way it is. At least here.
