Makes me wonder if Quarians have very sensitive eyes from all those years in likely poorly lighted ships. I have only ever seen them with fairly dark tint glass.

H,mm... Good question. I mean, for some reason in their species evolution they developed eyes without pupils since their eyes seem to be completely white. I wonder if that does have something to do with it. I would think, as you said being in suits and ships most of their life their eyes could be affected.

Lol, the way my Tali shoots the walls sometimes in game does make me wonder. Still love her though ;)

Well any change to the eyes would be an enviromental change and any Quarian who returned to Rannoch could have their eyes return to normal. But we don't really (or will ever!) know much about why their eyes glow like that, I suppose they could see in different wavelenghs and ignore the "visual" spectrum but its thinking about it too much really.

I had surmised that the tinting was originally due to the brighter lighting on alien world/stations that the quarians visited.  Rannoch's sun being less bright.
Then, after they lost Rannoch, they kept the tinting in their visor for privacy. as well as functionality.
Remember also, seeing a face is rather important to quarians.

And that is kind of sad, they are more than happy to tell us about Asari biology and really not much other than the stuff about Quarian immune systems.

On a side note, I think My Shepard was really a great mix with Tali. he is a Spacer so in a way similar life. nothing but ships.

On an extra side note... This one is for old school computer gamers(talking back to the Apple IIe) ME spin off into the old days of computer games of the 1980s... Quarian Trail...

Hi everyone,

I just woke up from a very cool Tali dream. First one ever. No better way to start the day! So what's everyone talking about?

I just had a very messed up one.  Wanna here? It's clean, but strange.

That makes me wonder a little. The whole seeing another Quarians face is important to them. I'm assuming that tradition was started after the suits, but I wonder how the tradition started. I guess it just came from hundreds of years of being in the suit and no one really seeing what other quarians looked like. So for them, the revealing of a face is just very important.

It also makes me wonder about their dating rituals. Obviously dating and relationships have to be based off personality more than anything else. I mean, I doubt ou would ever see what they looked like until you reached an intimate ate state. So I wonder how their courting ritual works for the most part?

300 years isn't enough to cause genetic changes but considering Rannoch's climate and their eyes I would guess they were nocturnal or diurnal but more likely to operate during darker hours. It could be their eye glow is similar to nocturnal species on earth where you see reflections back at certain angles. More likely it's a form of bioluminescence though. If it is just reflectivty then in their case it is much more pronounced.

Regarding courtship and the like we do know linking suits signals a willingness for intimacy among a pair if applicable.

Hey Cheese of Borg,

Sure, what was it about? I've been on the forum so much lately and playing mass effect non stop that tali is on the mind almost 24/7 lol. My dream took place after the events of mass effect 3. I saw their home world and everything. Of course, since it was a dream their home world tended to look like the city of Atlantis from stargatematlantis, but still very cool. I saw the house and everything.

So do tell about your dream?

Ok on house discussion, do people imagine the house to be like? Somthing modern like the Intai'sei house from pinnacle station?

I can't really tell, but it kind of looks like their scleras (white part of the eye on humans) are a kind of black/grey color, and their irises are white.

I would want Tali's house to be a combination of human and quarian construction.

I don't think they hid their faces before the morning war.  I think that, due to the drastic loss of any real privacy within the fleet, that the visors stayed tinted always to provide at least the 'sense' of privacy.
Again, the tinting as I see it, was originally for eye protection from bright lights.  Basically, sunglasses.  But, since they had to remain in their suits off world, they just tinted the entire visor and not just something specifically for their eyes.
EDIT*  Oh.  Revealing their faces is basically giving up that illusion of privacy.  Even an illusion can be hard to overcome.

In my Tali dream last night the house was more rustic. Almost like the house from the movie eat, love and pray when she visited Bali. It was very open, lots of windows and glass. Wrap around stairs that led upstairs to the bedroom. A patio type deck where the two of them could just sit back, mrelax and enjoy the sunset.

Didn't notice that.  It would be interesting from a biological perspective there.  That would imply the Quarian equivalent of collagen is not white.  Considering her nails have a purplish hue that is darker than the skin that could make sense.  I doubt she paints her nails ;)

Given that she doesn't take off parts of her suit often, probably not.  Plus, the smell of nail polish might make her sick.  I have a feeling it would also be a bit tricky to paint that third toe of hers also...

I stayed my hand in the "playthrough that never happened" (because it was pre-face-import and pre-ending-alteration), mostly because I know a bit or two about diplomacy...
