My brain almost literally cannot (or rather, refuses to) comprehend a non-Tali romance when applicable. I had to stop my original ME1 character after I got him into ME2 because while he himself would be faithful to Liara as planned, I couldn't bring *myself* not to go Talimance. Personal preference was too strong to even RP otherwise.

Book Shepard, on the other hand, has no such problems. He is Tali's, through and through (bachelor in ME1), and enjoying every minute of it.

v Also, it is possible to not romance Tali, it's just feels like you're a terrible person for not romancing her.

Thankfully I romanced her(or consider her romance canon).

Though I am guessing Bioware figured everybody would pounce Liara.

Ahh well playing through ME1 NG+ and will not romance anybody... That way it can be just Tali in 2 and 3.

They were going to include her (and maybe Garrus?) in ME1, but thought some people would be weirded out by her "chicken feet". As much as that was a missed opportunity, I'm glad it panned out that way. Seems like a more realistically developed relationship with romantic inclinations coming to light in the second game.

They decided to play it safe with keeping the romance options to the humans and the asari. Might've been too risky opening it up to the more alien characters. I mean, Fox freaked out about the blueberry space babe alone, imagine what it would've been like if Tali or Garrus had been romance options?

EDIT: Come to think of it... a ME1 romance scene with Tali? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Although at first I wanted to romance Tali in ME1, I like how their relationship develops over the years, from "friend with a crush" to "love".

I remember when I first found out that Tali was romancable in ME2.

So I was going to do the whole Miranda thing. I couldn't stand Ashley and I hated her even more after Horizon, so I wanted a new romance for my Shepard. I didn't like Jack, so I decided to go with Miranda mainly because of her sympathetic story.

Then I recruit Tali, in which I was happy about because I enjoyed her character in the first one. We go through her loyalty mission (in which was amazing) and after finding her father, I didn't hesitate to hit that interrupt.

After convincing the abmiralty board to get their heads out of their rear ends and realize how amazing Tali is, they clear Tali and no evidence had to be presented.

Back on the Normandy, I'm doing my usual rounds starting in the CIC and ending in Engineering. I get to Tali and she calls her omni tool a bolsh tat due to a minor infection she got. We talk for a bit about life in a suit. Shepard mentions that he could never live like that. Tali talks about how they never take off their suits. They don't even take off their suits unless it's with someone they trust. Then...

Tali: But I have never trusted anybody like that. Except...(absolutely adorable) Well you know what I mean.

Zapphoman (me): Wait a minute...

The conversation continues. Then she brings up intimacy...

Zappho: Holy crap...

Shepard: Wait a minute, are you suggesting something Tali?

Tali: What could I possibly be suggesting...

After she got done sarcastically asking how she could possibly form an interest in Shepard, I completely forgot about Miranda. Tali was the one. Screw Ashley, screw Liara, screw Miranda. Tali was going to Gabriel Shepards love interest. He dumps Miranda (she must of been mad when she found out it was for a Quarian) and the rest is history.

That I can't romance her in ME1 gives me the feeling that I have preserved myself for her and that she isn't some cheap romance option.

She could be a pretty badass sniper.  why?  camera on the scope rigged to a HUD on her face plate.

on short this would mean Sniper Tali could snipe around corners and over cover while never showing her face to an enemy.  Hmm that is why we never see quarian snipers.

Likewise. I'd wanted to ever since Mass Effect 1.

She had me at "A daring commander recruits a young woman to travel the galaxy on his spaceship for a dangerous mission. How could she possibly develop an interest"

Also, this is of course where I find myself when i cant sleep. I have a serious case of "wish I could be Shepard and see Tali all the time," but judging from this thread I'm likely not alone

Miranda may have more pages, but Tali is still the only one for me.
