Haha it won't start again.
I would go search for it but I'm too lazy and it's probably burried by now.
Basically I was irritated that designers tend to make women (not just in mass effect) unrealistically appealing.

Being a real life paragon smoker I have problems with how smokers are represented.

Being fat (rather I was grossly overweight but I still think I am) I have problems with how fat people are represented (not at all? in ME).

Aaaand I've been ranting about the thing with women as well...

Basically I rant ALOT...  EDIT: About stuff thats just plainly unfair ...

@orgy
This is starting to sound more and more complicated as I learn more lol.

I think my prof just wanted to teach us the polite form since that's what we should use when talking to her.

Sensei no shusshin wa nihon no tokyo desu. :P
And she's very old fashioned since she's probably around her late 50s I'd say.

I know no one asked; but it is on topic, and I did think it was interesting.

"Keelah se'lai."

"By the homeworld I hope to see someday."

Notice that Tali says its the "Best," translation, not the most "Accurate," that she can make. That told me that, also given how few words are in the quarian version, that the translation is not literal.

A common thing to do with made up langauges (Western ones anyway.) I've seen is to put an apostrophe in a word to show that it is either compound, or conjugated. Seeing as there are only two words in the phrase, I think its a conjugated verb.

The only verbs in the english phrase are "Hope," and "See." My mind instantly thought of our "Tai," verb form, which means "To want," when added to a verb. Like; Taberu, to eat. Tabetai, I want to eat.

Taking this, (Plus Tai and Lai sound similar.) I made Se' the root form of the quarian verb "To see," and "Lai," a verb ending meaning to want.

So here; Se'lai means "Want to see."

The only other word there is "Keelah," and considering how many times it is said in the games, and how it is said, I think the only word here that makes sense is "Homeworld," because of it cultural significance to the quarian people. Almost like a prayer.

So now; Keelah se'lai means literally something like; "I want to see the homeworld." With articles (A, an, the.) not existing. Like in Japanese.

This means that quarian could be a noun-dropping, context-heavy language, like Japanese, which could also explain why such a short phrase would carry so many words in english. The words "By the," and "Someday," are subtly implied in the quarian version, but might be lost in english.

That's actually pretty cool, orgy.
That's probably about right too.

Its not really hard, (Coming from me, I know that's a little unreliable.) it just takes practice.

And that sentence is kind of weird, I think you're trying to say your sensei is from tokyo, ne?

Wareware no sensei wa tokyo kara desu. Or, sensei wa nihon no kigen desu. If you want to be polite.

It all makes sense reading your explanation, but I would never be able to come up with something like that on my own.

Personally I just, sort of assumed, that the word "Keelah" had accumulated more meaning over the years.

Not only does it refer to the homeworld literally but also encompasses the whole cultural wish of returning to it.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say...
I'm confused about why that sentence is strange.
Is "sensei no okuni wa nihon desu." Any better?

Can I ask everyone here something? Do any of you play ME3 on the Xbox 360 (and have live) as I think it would be nice to play with some of you when you have time.

Although, please I am not trying to create some kind of platform war or anything like that, it was just a friendly idea!

Well, "nihon no tokyo" is kind of weird, because we'd already know where Tokyo is. Its literally "Japan's Tokyo."

And the new sentence means "Teacher's country is Japan." Which still sounds a little stiff. Okuni is a polite way of simply saying kuni, which is country, and wouldn't be said really.

Wareware no sensei wa nihonjin desu; means our teacher is Japanese. You could just say that, or, Sensei wa nihon kara desu. Which means Teacher is from Japan.

Wareware is a polite way of saying "Us," and it implies the "Us," is united, like a class or orginization.

I got a nice gaming PC last year, but decided to stick with the xbox version of ME3 so I can have my saves. It's difficult to transition from controller to mouse/keyobard though, the last time I was a PC gamer was when I was like 8 haha

I have many final exams to study for, assignments to finish, and then I've got to start studying another programming language.
So I'm pretty swamped. I'll try to fit in time to play here and there but the earliest I can expect it happening is on Wednesday.
