Problem is a lot of scientists don't seem keen on the idea of making people immortal. Sad really. But I'm determined. I plan to live forever... or die trying.

Hahahahaha that was brilliant!

To me it depends on how my quality of life will be.

Will it be an eternity (or say ... 1000 years) with an average relative age of 30-50 I'm ok ... But personally I don't wanna spend much time at 70 plus. Having worked in elder care and all...

Yeah, the idea doesn't seem pleasant. But I just hope science improves enough to make that age more managable, or at least plug my brain in to the internet so I can spend the next 100 years trolling youngsters and their "moist music" (or whatever it is in the future).

Extremely short list of things to GenEng into/out of humans:
Remove the appendix, coccyx, wisdom teeth, tonsils, nictating membrane, goose bumps, and as much junk DNA from the human genome as possible.
Give humans the ability to digest cellulose and Peptidoglycans, and make human digestive tract able to function without resident microbes to compensate.
Widen the human visual range into the far red-infra red and lower UV spectrum.
Remove the human menstral cycle. Seriously, why the hell do we still have that crap?
Remove the blind spot in the human eye.

Time exists as little as meters or miles do exist: only in our heads.

Junk DNA is sacrificial.
Generally prevents radiation-based random mutations.
Although making some of it actually do crap might be a good idea.
And we need to make 100% sure we know what things can do before we start screwing around...

Was messing around with flycam and managed to get shots (clipping ftw?) where it kinda looked like Tali and Shepard were holding hands in front of Raan and Xen hehe.

Maybe i'm just a dork and only see that? But anyways I just thought it looked cute...xp

Was this from deleted content or something else?

Yes! I found the scene that wasn't suppose to be in the game where Xen talked about "someones induction port getting popped on pilgrimage."

Seriously tho it was after the geth dreadnought mission. Amazing what different camera angles can accomplish.

No, it does not. Metres are an arbitrary unit assigned to an absolute thing, distance. Distance exists, we measure them in metres. Time exists, and we measure it in arbitrary hours, seconds and minutes. I don't understand why you can reject time. It is the fourth dimension. Reality cannot exist without it. Well, our reality at least.

Time isn't exactly something "we" have a concensus on:

Back when they intended Xen to be an insane racist with a hatred for the geth that passed all rationale.
They decided to merely make her a genius eccentric. Good or bad thing, or a bit of both? You decide.
Still think they should have kept that particular line though. Perhaps with an apology from Xen afterward, if the quarians are saved from extinction. Or cursing Tali's stupidity before getting asploded if you modify the possiblities to make it so they aren't saved...

Distance doesn't exist either.
The two objects or points between which you measure the distance exist though.

In order to alter the measure "distance" you need to move one of the objects.
You can't move the objects by altering the measurement. They'll remain in their place.

By junk DNA, I don't mean telemeres. I mean jumping genes, transposables and transposons, viral crap like that which has cropped up in the genome over the millenium. That stuff is just a drain on the cellular metabolism. We can chop the size of chromosomes down by 80-90%, and still have over 90% non coding DNA.

And of course we would not start with humans. We would start with single celled bacteria, then microscopic multicellular eukaryotes, then worms, then maybe mice. It would take along time, but humans are pretty smart apes.

And on time again, it is an integral part of this universe. Nothing that we could understand could exist without time. If you ever made a graph of a trajectory, you know that time is the X axis. Nothing makes sense without time. Nothing can change without time. Time is the change in the fourth dimension. Time can be warped, slowed, sped up, but it exists, just like distance. The empty space between the sun and earth EXISTS, just as the movement of that earth around that sun exists because of time.

We don't really know what time is, so I can understand why some may want to reject it. It'd certainly make a lot of equations easier eliminating all the t's. Some have wondered if rather then "seeing" the passage of time we simply have a series of subjective experiences that are different from the ones in our memories and it's this difference that our concious brains percieve as time.

Personally, I have no problem with the existance of time. I'm just annoyed that it seems to take issue at my existance.

Good. Because, you know, it's Claudia Black. Okay, she's not Tali, but still pretty damn cool. Plus the Mass Effect universe seems to have enough Racism (or speciesism) in it already. Plus2 mad scientists are always good for a laugh.

I'll get a miniature giant one of those space hamsters, call him Boo, and give him to a friend of mine who's good in a fight but took one too many knocks on the head.

I want her to rip open a cannibal and watch as she gets inundated in blood, all over her sexy body, and then licks the blood off of her lips...
But that would make her sick. Damn. Image IPB

Don't worry. After you die, they'll discover the gene to bring people back from the dead. :wizard:

So, what can Tali's omnitool do??

How old does Tali live to? Is her lifespan the same as a human's?
