I saw in an interview that Casey Hudson wrote an excel app to generate planet info that the codex writers then used to write the descriptions. A lot of the planets are completely whack, actually, with non-Keplerian orbits etc. If they did take the effort to ensure this stuff was correct, they only did it for the major plot worlds.

With enough paragon, I can persuade her to be cool with it.  And if not, well...Tali's still the best, Raan is just the cherry on top of the sundae.
