OK, let's try another topic.

Bioware just signed with a movie maker for their upcomming movie.

So far, it is known that, it will not follow the game exactly, (as always Hollywood like to screw up with any good game port).

So, as his LI there could be only two choices for him, (it's going to be a MaleShe btw), Ashley and Liara. Don't expect to Tali be included on the list (which is a truly shame from them), and here's some arguments that point in that direction.

1) General movie viewer. Hollywood can't carter an specific group of people. They need to make the movie as broad as possible. Not everyone will understand how someone like our Tai can be a love interest to a human.

2) Figure and skin sells. So by having a very well and attractive lady playing the roles of Ashley and Liara, it's a sure recepi to bring in more people, specially from the male audience. Tali has figure and skin to, but being inside a suit is going to be one of the reasons why Hollywood will dissmiss her as a LI.

3) Sex appeal (this should probably go to the second reason to) equals more ticket sales. Tali has equal or more sex appeal that any of the other females from ME universe. But she is wrapped in a suit. She probably going to be compare like Catwoman from the 1990 Batman movies. Not to say she looks hot, but I bet Hollywood prefer something normal and with a face.

I really hate How Hollywood does business. I know they need to make as much money as they can. But it's not fair that out cute Tali will probably  not get an equal chance to play the role of Shepard love interest as the rest of the females cast.

As much as I would want to see Tali as the LI, you really can't blame them.

Do we actually know if the ME movie is going to take place during the games? Because if so, that is stupid. By doing that, they are effectively establishing canon. In the past they have explicitly stated that there is no canon, even for default playthroughs.

I think the movie as a whole will fail, not just the LI scene.  Most video game adaptations don't do well, and if that's not enough, packing Mass Effect into a movie is just a project that will make anyone's head explode.  So many different choices, so many moments, all packed into this.  And on top of that, trimming the movie from 16+ hours of gameplay into a 2-3 hour movie will be a blast to try.

If Tali isnt the LI then I cannot watch it . Maybe if it skips that all together but that wouldn't happen...

Really much I concur with your post. I have not see yet a sucessfull game to movie port over. The movie will not going to follow the game. But never the less, it's going to take real magic to cram 15-30 of game play and all the variants into a 2 hour movie.
