Unchild, the difference between mass effect technology and the hair problem is not one of degree, but of category. Successful suspension of disbelief about biotics and ME tech requires that you accept element zero, and how it works. That is all. It doesn't ask you to forget the law of conservation of energy, the four forces, or ask you to forget that you have had hair for two decades and KNOW HOW IT WORKS. It introduces a new thing, which is probably impossible, but is perfectly fine for this type of media because it is a new and UNKNOWN element.
Hair is not an unknown element. We know how hair works. We have mastered shampoo technology and hairstyling powers, and we understand HAIR. So I can't suspend my disbelief towards something on my own body, but I CAN for something that is out of our experience and does not fly in the face of experience.
Do it.mikeloeven wrote...

Well, im not gonna lie, staring at these queen of blades pictures creeps me out more than the stuff we talked about last night. Actually, I didn't get creeped out at all about what we talked about last night, it was somewhat pleasurable, but still...
My entire position is that quarians do not have long, humanlike hair while wearing their suits. If you agree that their hair is not like human hair, then you agree with my position, and disagree with the canon photo hair. And yes, we do know how hair works. It never was that much of a mystery, and we solved the little that was there a while ago.Unschuld wrote...

... which aliens are, from my understanding, out of our experience. Last I checked, we hadn't encountered any yet (or their technology). Our understanding is human hair, and we obviously still don't know even close to everything about how our own bodies work, or non-human bodies, otherwise we'd have a cure for every known ailment and disease. Just about everything in the ME universe qualifies as an unknown element.

Unfortunately for Cheese and possibly you, that's not the case. I was talking more about the intercourse topics we had. That didn't invole any sort of fetishes, belly button included. I laughed at gamer_girls reaction to us talking about 'intercourse', it made her glad she was still coding in the lab.exelsis wrote...

I agree with exelsis, the more alien the better. I can't see a human like appearance on a creature with bowed legs 3 fingers and 3 toes no sir.
