Don't worry Gamer, i completely aim to steer clear of such...discussions.

@Dilan i did indeed read your idea. It was good, but....*sniffs*

My fanfic is alright with my email. I don't get that many messages. I quite like them.It makes me happy knowing someone has listed it as a fave story or a fave author or whatever...it gives me a warm feeling

just read the one in your signature and that was great. brought tears to my eyes when shepard almost died in tali's arms.

To be fair though, the Normandy is a small ship. I doubt EDI would have needed monitoring devices to know Shepard and Tali got more personal.   I have a feeling they where spending more time together "off camera" once into a relationship.  even before a full on love scene I bet she was going up to his quarters more and more freqently,  would not take an AI to connect the dots.

hmmm.....good point. Makes sense considering Garrus says on the Geth ship he was there when Shepherd and Tali had their "Thing" so the only way for him to know would be if they were on ship showing affecting in public or Shepherd told and in my mind my Sheperd is too much of a gentlemen to tell such things.

well even if they did not tell anyone about bedroom activities.  just chats and body motion can let a casual observer know Shepard is checking up on more than the status of the engine core.

Think of how things work in reality,  if two coworkers are in a relationship but hide it at work you can usually still figure out things are happening just by subtle interactions between the two.

Tali wasn't the most subtle person in letting people know what she though of Shep as well.  Probably not too hard to figure out.  Recall what Kasumi said?

Tali is so cute. You're all she talks about in that sweet rainbows-and-butterflies kind of way. She loves you, Shepard. Be good to her.

Japanese is a tough language for sure.
I'm doing fairly well, but I've only just done the basics.

Well, I know I don't know you very well yet, but I wish you the best on your exams Gamer girl ;)

Now this makes me think of something. If Tali spoke another language beside Quarian what language would she speak? Human or alien?

I think my Tali would love the Italian language. It's very elegant like my Tali ;)

I guess so.  It does make me wonder though how Garrus knew of their 'intimacy' during their assault on the collector base.  I could easily see how Garrus would know Tali loves Shepard by their banter, and their frequent visits to the cabin.  I guess the best way to explain is that Garrus and Tali are close friends, and don't mind exchanging secrets with one another because Shepard knows Garrus as well and is close to him too.

Now I want Garrus to have made a comment at least once.  "So tell me shepard,  do those lines go all the way down on a quarian?"

Maybe.. you know.. since Tali is so quiet normally.. it builds up, and she was abit "loud" when she was "with Shepard for the first time back then that the whole crew heard them

Imagines Jack knocking on the ceiling of the engineering subdeck. "Keep it down up there you two, for f*ck's sake!"

Haha yeah, with how quiet the Normandy is, I wouldnt be surprised if you could hear the bed rocking throughout the ship :D

Well she does speak another besides Keelish (spelling?)
She knows English or German or French etc. Depending on which version of the game you have.

The whole translation thing throughout the series is a bit wierd to be honest and not worth thinking about too much really, I would assume she would have learned at least some basics of shepards native language though. It does mention she updated her translatior in me2 in the SB dossiers but that could be for the other humans about.

Yeah, I was more thinking in terms of just learning a language for fun, not really game based, but I assume her suit could download almost any language and display it on screen. I could have used that when I failed French and Spanish class lol

edit: so far away from staind just started playing, one of my tali"s favorites ;) makes her think of Shep

If she had to rely on a translator, I doubt she'd be able to speak so quickly and accurately in English. Not to mention a robot in her suit would likely relay messages back and forth, rather than it being her actual, accented voice.

I figured something like that, though to be able to hear it from two floors down... it must have been really good.

Exactly, so you either have to assume that translation is either better than it is described in the codex, all the people you meet are very well educated, a mix of the two, or just for the sake of enjoyment not think about it too much

universal translators are a standard issue device for pretty much all science fiction. Some do at times make mention of them not being perfect,  Star Trek 6 for example when the Enterprise is faking as a klingon freighter they had to try and speak klingon because it would be evident if they used the translator.

In story and off camera I would not be surprised if Tali was learning English and Shepard learning some Quarian(if that is what their language is called.)

We desperately need to intervene earlier...

In other news, I'm on. Are we talking universal translators? Check codex entry "babelfish", people!

I would love to hear what the Quarian people's language sounds like. Hint Bioware lol

Well, I just watched the scene on Rannoch where she takes her mask off.
After she removes it, you hear her clear voice without distortions.
The accent is still there though.

Maybe she just learned the human language after all.

Well translation is explained in the codex, but from what it suggests it would work like translating the elcor speach, I.e clunkily and not pass on emotion like many of the alien characters are able to to do very easliy and often

Ok not as clunky as I remember but would still create some holes with the way shepard speaks to aliens, but thats why I said we should not worry too much
