When I saw the scene on Rannoch where Tali talks about the saying "Keelah Se'lai" I thought it would make more sense if she knew english because she says "The best translation I can come up with is 'by the homeworld I hope to see someday'" Her translating it wouldn't make any sense if she was just saying it in Khellish again.

@ Exile.

I hope so. I was really looking foward to playing it and the controls are already complicated as it is so it would be nice to have a game where the connection is fine so I can get used to it at least hehe. Anyways, thanks for hoping lol.

If it isn't up later we'll combine our software and hack their servers and redirect them only to your location and a few other selected units :)

You're not looking at things in the right way. You're using a naturalistic fallacy.
You're assuming something about the mass effect universe based on how our world is.
Bassically you're saying Mass Effect ought to be like this because our world is like this.
Point is, it's illogical to fabricate a "should" from an "is".
Why is it not possible that they have more efficient techniques of teaching language?
Better question, why am I arguing when it's clearly pointless? >_>

Because downloading software to an omni-tool that interfaces wil a small implant in the inner ear is easier than teaching english to trillions of people, most of whom will never meet any humans. That is why.

EDIT: BY VECTRON I NEED TO GOUGUE MY EYES OUT AGAIN. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH TALI FETISH ART? WHY WOULD ANYONE DRAW HER IN DIAPERS? WHY DO I EVEN GO ONTO DEVIANTART ANYMORE?Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB

Well.. Just like English is the international language on earth, perhaps they decided to make it the galactic language? Maybe English was the easiest language to learn for all races.

Just throwing stuff out there. Could be a long way off lol.

All you need to do is convince me that for those trillions of people, it would be easier to teach them a language(that has more words than any other that has ever existed on earth) than to download a data package containing that language.

As i said last page, i think a universal language is being spoken between all the characters in the game, not neccessarily english or any human language, but one that is taught and commonly known in the galaxy. It would explain how chars still have occasional native words in talking to one another. A translator could be used to fix any occasional problems that could occur, but isnt active at all times.

That could work.

I think the gallactic language should be Welsh xD

The quarians would be the most likely to actually know more than one language since they are always on the move. well until I got their homeworld back and got peace with the geth.

Figure all the other major species, most of their populations will likely rarely interact with someone else who is not their species especially on the home worlds. I mean there is a slim chance someone in Philadelphia will ever talk to an asari face to face.(unless they have some strange desire to come to Earth to get a cheese steak.)

Now I do think the translator is just very accurate and replicates accents though, However there is a good chance certain people actually learned languages. if N7 is special ops there is a good chance Shepard knows a few languages, I would not be shocked if he could speak quarian.

Pretty much sums up why I'm not a fan of you.

Poor panda...Image IPB

PANDATLAS!

as a side note, its more polite to learn the lingo than get software to do it for you. As electrosphere pointed out, tali offers a translation to keelah selai. if it was software, you'd know what it meant and wouldn't require a translation. Humans are important. Therefore, their language is important, especially english, which is the language of business.
Otherwise, just agree to disagree and be done with it! And no more nasty panda pics!
