Well, I share a lot of the same qualities/personality aspects with Shepard (obvious enough, since I base all of my game decisions on my own values) and if there's any merit to it, there's some Mass Effect "what character are you most like" quiz that had me tied with both Shepard and Garrus. Loyalty, sense of humor, and empathy are qualities I'd use to describe myself, along with 'semper fidelis' and all that lot.
However, unless I was Shepard, I don't see myself being with Tali if I were planted in the ME universe. I can't even see myself being with a Quarian, as my attraction for the character has nothing to do with some sort of cross-species fetish. The relationship with Tali had more to do with familiarity, unwavering loyalty and comradery in addition to attractive personality traits for me. This is something I find hard to imagine would be possible unless I was Shepard, and had the same type of exposure and interaction with her. Otherwise, I'd just be with whoever else was around who shared the same basic personality traits as Tali (most likely another human, since Quarians are pretty rare).

Well said Unschuld. When I play as Shepherd I don't make the decisions I think Shepherd would make I choose the ones I would make which are usually pretty similar. If you ever find that link to the quiz you mentioned let me know. I wouldn't mind seeing where I score.
I agree that Tali tends to embody what I look for in friends as well as someone to be in a relationship with, my wife holds many of the traits tali has. I don't know who I would end up with in the Mass Effect universe. As you said, whoever shares my values.

). The other day I even noticed her doing "the hang-wringing thing" and started laughing. She didn't understand why, so I just responded that she needs to play the damn game! She's very stubborn about which games she chooses to play, but she loves sci fi which is why it boggles my mind that she didn't get instantly sucked in. She started playing ME1 the other week, but she'll only do so while I'm on the couch next to her providing commentary on her decisions, and as a person to throw the controller at when she gets overwhelmed by combat situations.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my current girlfriend of many years shares a lot of the same traits as Tali (which is probably why I chose Tali in all of my playthroughs, not the other way around

Love both sports and yeah, I could see Tali being really good at sports. Actually, it makes me wonder if the Quarians have any types of sports they play on the fleet or did when they didn't need the suits. I mean, they have to stay in shape somehow don't they?
