Always good to see a new face... wait, no... username.  Yeah that's right, because I can't actually see your face so it would be wierd to say it's good to see a new face when I can't actually see it.  So that's why I say username instead, and... y'know, right?

Anyway, you know that new ability Tali's going to have?  I'm hoping it'll be something that'll be able to effect organic targets.  Maybe she electrocutes them or something?  Anyone else have any ideas?

If it's not Reaper hacking (I know there's a pic of this somewhere...) and if it's going to be useful against organics...there was that arc lightning effect from the Shadow Broker DLC so that could be a power.  There's also the heavy turret idea...

Quarians have a thing for shield technology... maybe a personal kinetically sensitive shield ala the Shadowbroker?

So the Shadowbroker's Shield....that you can bash people with to do damage+steal their barriers like energy drain does? And then maybe their health too.

*shrug*

It would have to be more damaging than old fashioned energy drain to justify the increased of having to run up and bash someone with it (as Shepard anyway).

Or maybe with the shield deployed, all/some weapon fire taken is added to your shield total instead.

New Power? My best guess is that it will come from her omni-tool like most of her special powers. The least likely thing it would be is a new style of ammo. Maybe something along the lines of medical like a super medi-gel? Or heck, what about some sort of Super Shield?

This new power sounds interesting! Noting the (limited) information we have, we can make a few assumptions about what it may be;
1. As the new power is being "written from scratch" then it is likely this power will be different from other powers that already exist, otherwise the dev would just copy software that already exists from previous games and make the required changes (and thus does not require it to be written from scratch).
2. As it is defined as "the most complex thing" the dev has done since joining the company, the power is unlikely to be something as straightforward as a shield (which are simple to program), or a power that works in the same way as others, (which again, can be derived from code that already exists from previous ME games).
3. Regarding the statement "If we can pull off this new power, it will be pretty awesome...", we can assume the power is likely to have a degree of complexity to it. For example, it may require a certain amount of intelligence to be coded into it (e.g. like a turret which scans the battlefield for enemies, or a power that controls or manipulates the environment).

My concern is, that as it is a "secret" power, and the phrases "...most complex thing..." and "...if we can pull it off..." could mean that the power could be removed from the game near the end of production if the dev cannot get it to work properly.

I doubt it would be shield. While some sort of shield would work really well with Tali's Energy Drain, it wouldn't be that effective with Shepard (and it was quite obvious that Shepard could have this as bonus power). And it's unlikely that it would be any sort of medi-gel, because Tali had never been medic specialist, so it wouldn't make sense to make her one in last game.

I think that Tali's new power is something like throwing omni- knife (or something omnis anyway), which will overload and cause electrical shock. It would destroy/seriously damage synthetic enemies and paralyse organic targets for some time making them easy targets. Though I have to say that I don't know if this is "complex" enough.

Hmmh... New power... Oh wait I know! Tali uses her boot knife to cut into a synthetic target and gouges out vital hardware resulting in an instakill regardless of health, armor and shields Well maybe that would be a bit overkill...

Not quite
The 'fur' moves in the same way trees move.
The base remains in the same location, it just sways back and forth.

Basically, this fur/cilla moves as if it was in a slo-motion breeze, but on it's own accord, and under complete control of the individual (Tali).

Quick preview of my new fanfic series.  It's a re-imagining of the Freedom's Progress Tali/Shep reunion.  It's also based off this one shot: www.fanfiction.net/s/7274885/1/Mass_Effect_One_Last_Goodbye so I'd recomend that you read that before reading this.  You don't need to, but you'll probably enjoy this more if you've read that.  Anyway... Enjoy!

Commander, I’m detecting faint heat signatures coming from that building.” Miranda
told him.  “It looks like there might be people inside.”  

“Okay, I’m going to bypass the door.  Keep your weapons ready, but don’t fire
unless I give the word.  They could be survivors.  They might know what
happened here.”  He brought up his omni-tool, and attempted to hack his
way in.  It was immediately apparent to him that this wasn’t a standard
house lock.  It had been put in place very recently, and was much more
complex than the previous locks he had bypassed.  He breathed a sigh of
relief as he connected the last two circuits.  If only Tali were here... She could’ve broken that in seconds.
 He moved up to the door, and motioned for Miranda and Jacob to fall in
place behind him.  He pulled out his shotgun, and opened the door.

Shepard had expected a lot of things.  He had not expected a group of quarians with assault rifles.

“Cerberus!” The lead quarian exclaimed, disgust evident in his voice.  “Stop right there!”

Why the hell is there a team of quarians down here?  He was about to speak when a familiar voice cut him off.

“Prazza, you said you’d let me handle this!”

No, it can’t be!  Why would she be down here?  But, no... I could never forget that voice.  “Tali?”

“Shepard?  How?  What... What did Cerberus do to you?”

“Tali, it’s really me.  Cerberus, they... rebuilt me.”

“No!  That’s... That’s not possible!  I... I was at your funeral and everything!”

“Tali, did you get that message I sent you?  The one I sent when the Normandy was destroyed?  Did the information help you with completing your pilgrimage?”

“Y- Yes... it did.  Keelah!  It really is you!  You’re... You’re back!
 Prazza, take the troops outside, give us a moment of privacy will you?”

“I’m not leaving you here with Cerberus operatives!”  The quarian replied, almost shouting.  “They’d prob-” Shepard cut him off.

“The Cerberus operatives are leaving too.”

Miranda began to speak, but Shepard cut her off.  “You can give me a few minutes with an old crew member, can’t you?”  

“Yes, commander.”

“Good.”  He waited for the cerberus operatives and quarian soldiers to leave
the room before continuing, his voice quiet, nervous even.  “Tali, that
message I sent you, I know the data and credits helped you, but what
about... about the other part?”

She looked at him, and he could see the sorrow in her eyes.  “When I got that message, I was so upset...”

Shepard looked down, trying to keep the sadness out of his voice.  “I’m sorry I made you fe-”

“...Upset that I wouldn’t be able to tell you how much I loved you back.  And now
you’re back, and I can finally tell you what I’ve wanted to for so
long.”  She paused, and Shepard looked up at her, his eyes full of hope.
 “I... I love you Shepard.”  

By the time the words had left her mouth, her arms had already wrapped around
the spectre who had for so long held her heart captive.  “And I love you
too, Tali’Zorah nar Rayya.”  The two stood there, holding each other in
an embrace they both wished could last forever.  Finally, Tali released
her arms from around him, and the two separated.  

“And by the way,” Tali said, a slight giggle in her voice, “It’s Tali’Zorah vas Neema now.”

“Was that a giggle I just heard, Miss vas Neema?” Shepard asked her with a laugh.

“Of... Of course not,” Tali answered indignantly, before hesitating.  “Well maybe a small one...”

Shepard laughed again.  “Well, we better get down to business, what’s a group of quarians doing down on a remote human colony?”

“We’re looking for a young quarian named Veetor,” Tali replied, her voice serious again.  “He came here on his pilgrimage.”

“What was he doing on a remote human colony?”  Shepard inquired.

“He was always... nervous... in crowds.  Quarians can choose where they go
on pilgrimage, and he like the idea of helping out a small settlement.”

“Do you know where he is now?” Shepard asked her.

“When he saw our shuttle land, he hid in a warehouse on the far side of the
down.  I think he also reprogrammed the mechs to attack anything that
moves.”

Shepard grinned.  “Well it seems like we better work together then.  Veetor’s
the only one who can help us figure out what happened here.”

“Good
idea.  You take your team through the center of the village and to the
warehouse, I’ll take my squad around the outskirts.  We’ll draw off the
drones and clear you a path.”

Shepard nodded.  “Sounds like a plan.”

“It’s good to have you back Shepard.  I just have one more question.”

“I’ve been gone for two years.  I’ll answer any questions you want.”

“Why are you working with Cerberus?”

“It’s pretty complicated.  I’ll explain it all after the mission, but I can
assure you, I am not working with Cerberus.  I’m using their resources
to achieve mutual goals.  That goal right now is stopping the abduction
of human colonies.  You don’t have to worry about me going all Terra
Firma on you.  Besides,” he said with a grin.  “It’s pretty hard to be a
human supremacist when you’re in love with a beautiful quarian girl.
 Now, let’s go rescue Veetor.”

This is still a work in progress, in fact I just finished this part today.  It's a section of the first chapter.  Anyway, there's a lot of editing that needs to be done, but I wanted to get some ideas on where it's at, what I can make better, what might sound bad, etc.  So, yeah.  Please leave me some feedback and stuff.  I'm hoping to have the first chapter of this up on fanfic,net sometime next week.  Thanks to everyone who reads my stuff.

ROFL  I don't know which is funnier, Garrus as a unicorn or Jacob being the third man in.

Ah yes, Garrus, a magical sniping turian waiting for the reapers in Citadel space. Oh we have dismissed those claims.
