Hmm, was reading through some of the developer's posts on here, and I thought of a rather interesting question:
Let's say Tali made it with you inside the citadel. Both of you are in bad shape, Tali being the worst, but your alive. You went through the citadel, defeated the illusive man by some means, and saved Anderson from getting shot in the head. As you go to power up the crucible on the control panel however, a choice crisis faces Shepard. Tali needs first aid from Shepard because she can't stop bleeding, and Anderson is too weak to help her. Shepard has found a way for the crucible to fire and destroy only the reapers, but only if he stays at the control panel and keeps the power-up process stable; if he doesn't, he risks destroying more than just the reapers. There is not enough galactic readiness resources to save both. Would you save Tali if:
- The geth were at risk of being destroyed, and she insisted on you staying at the controls?
- The geth were at risk of being destroyed, and she didn't insist?
- Earth was at risk of being completely and utterly destroyed, as in turned into a asteroid field?
- The majority of the quarian fleets would risk being in the field of fire by saving her?
- A majority of any other non-rare ally fleets would risk being in the field of fire by saving her?
- A majority of rare ally fleets (I.E.: Their overall numbers in the galaxy are low, similar to the quarians but worse) would risk being in the field of fire by saving her?
- The local mass relay was at risk of being destroyed?
- Several mass relays were at risk of being destroyed?
- You knew you weren't going to make it in addition to the geth being destroyed, even though Tali insisted on you saving the geth, because your implants would short out from being so close to the blast?
If the geth were going to be killed I would save Tali.
If the Earth was at risk I would save Tali. Humanity has other worlds.
If the majority of the Quarian fleet was at risk I would save Tali. They have quarians on Rannoch who are safe.
If the majority of the/a non-rare species was at risk I would save Tali. They would survive. They have worlds.
If the majority of the/a rare species was at risk I would save Tali. They would survive. They have worlds.
If the local mass relays were at risk of being destroyed I would save Tali. We would FTL our way to a relay.
If several mass relays were at risk of being destroyed I would save Tali. We would FTL our way to a new relay. It may take a while, but cryogenic freezing or stasis fields can be utilized to preserve the individuals in transit to their homes. Hopefully, new Mass relays can be built or something similar.
I would always save Tali. Always.
