I don't know, but things are starting to get hairy.

How so? Oh wait, nevermind.

Garrus patrols the area for wild canon, while I snuggle with tali on a ledge. Unsafe snuggling is best snuggling.

you... think she doe not have hair?

That depends on the temperature of Rannoch.

Did we see the same photo?

In the photo, she has lovely hair. Quite a sight I must say.
But in 'actuality' would Tali have any hair? If Rannoch is very warm and the Quarian body temperature range is similar to Rannoch's temperature range then hair probably would not have evolved in Quarians. Hair is an insulator, and in this case, insulation would not be needed. This of course is contingent upon Rannoch's temperature and a Quarians body temperature both of which I do not know.

Hair is also used for mutualistic relationships between plants and animals to transport seed or pollen, as she says when they first step on Rannoch...

So...hair maybe. But then again, I don't even know why this is even on the plate for debate.  Her picture clearly shows that she has hair. She probably has to put it into a tight bun like Ash does when they fight.  I remember this girl in ROTC had hair that went all the way down to her bossum.  She managed to put it into a bun smaller than the size of a fist everytime she had to wear a uniform.  Kudos to her.

@ messier, the tendrils are not rigid, but flexible. And I don't think quarians have that kind of volume to them. Also, quarians have more space in their helmets above their eyes than humans do. Bit of space for tendrils? I think so.

Interesting. Just seems to me that the same kind of speculation could be applied to her actual hair. Of course, assuming that while the structure appears to be similar to that of mammals, it is in fact dissimilar in composition and functionality.

Also, if you are referring to the quarian concept art that features six different preliminary examples, I would argue that the canon face uses a combination of these.

Lawl! Anyways...new question:

I really wish Bioware would have taken the extra step and changed some things a little.  Instead of having JUST Liara do the whole tid bit with her creating the time capsule, it should be with your LI, as in Tali you know? Could you imagine how awesome that'd be????!?!?!

And, I wish Your LI (if you brought them with you on the last mission to go all the way up to the Crucible)  would help you at the very end.  That'd be awesome.  (Of course I would want Garrus too...)

How bad do you think your Team would look if you saw them after the blast? I couldn't imagine what Tali would even look/feel like...

It's terrible to even think about.

The bit of extra height can't be explained by mammalian hair though, as it has almost no volume. The problem with hair is that it would get itchy fast, and eventually will fall out if you live your life inside a suit. If they have mammalian hair, it isn't long. Bioware is just ignoring things like this, so I reject their canon and substitute my own.

I agree, I think the L.I. should have did the time capsule, but I understand why they did that with Liara. They just wanted to show the friendship and bond between them, but as someone who loves Tali I would have liked to see her in that role.

Having Tali at the end with Shepard would have made the ending a lot better in my opinion, at least Tali would have been there to slap Shepard and say "what are you thinking, Ask the glowing kid some questions". Plus it would fit with the whole theme of Tali always being by Shepard's side.

If Tali would have been caught in the explosion I think her helmet visor would have been cracked or blown off. Holes in her suit and a lot of blood. I would imagine she would have looked a lot like Shepard after he got up from the blast. Darn....thinking about the ending is making me said....wait, thinks of Tali, happy again :)

As much as I would like to see Tali in-person without the mask, I think seeing her, all battered and bloody with her visior broken off would begin to make me cry.  Every step I would take, every second that passes by, I would pray she doesn't catch a fatal infection and that she lives with Shepard to have the time they wanted.

Yeah, loving Tali the way I do it would suck to see her that way, but from a story telling, action  point of view and all that jazz I think it would some what cool, but  and I do say but Tali would have to be okay at the end :)

I have no issues with it being Liara honestly since she's good with information and is an archeologist.  I understand what you're saying and it would be nice, but not all the LI's are tech savvy; could you imagine Ashley or Garrus trying to make a device like that and having the foresight to make sure it lasts through many years and scatter it over multiple worlds?  It would be so far out of their character.  I think they just went with the character that best fit in general.  Now that I think about was Tali even on board by time that scene took place?

It would be interesting if being her love interest actually was another option to help keep Tali alive, besides galatic readiness.  I thought that worked with Miranda as well but seeing that this is the Tali'Zorah thread, you get the idea.  A possible explaination is that Shepard's intimate contact with Tali has built up her immune system and helped ward off a few nasty infections that she could have caught otherwise.  Oh, and her willpower to help Shepard as well contributed to her survival..

Survival by love...it would fit Tali perfectly.

Imagine if the only way to see tali's face is taking her on the run to the beam, and then the two of you stumbling towards it after you get blown up, your armor is shredded and melted, her suit is torn in dozens of places, her wrap is cinders, her helmet is wrecked and the visor smashed, and you get to look into her eyes for a few moments as you ever so slowly support eachother to the beam. It's too bittersweet... you're both doomed, you lose too much blood and your armor is fused to your skin, her suit is compromised and there is no way she could survive the contamination. Just end the reapers together, and share last breaths.

Oh wait, I didn't now the galatic readiness thing played a part in her death or not. I knew she could die on Rannoch, but haven't heard about the galatic rediness thing. Don't tell me though as it will make me sad. My first play through of ME3 I had about 5000 score and I took her with me to earth and see lived when the ship crashed on the strange alien planet. I guess I need to read more Walkthrough gudies lol

I love this photo. It's my wallpaper :)  Yeah, from a storytelling perspective that would have been pretty cool to see, but it would have also broke my heart. I'm sure a man tear would have been released. In my mind though that's who I saw the beam run go down. I figured Tali was right behind Shepard just out of sight of the camera and when the beam hit him it hit her and they fell together, but Shepard just woke up first, but then again, i have a good imagination :)

Yeah, great song, but it amazes me how famous marauder Shelds has become lol. Too funny, but yeah that song would have been great. Perfect Choice. When I played the game I had my own music on. I had to play War by poets of the fall, that is my Tali's song oh and everything by Lifehouse.

Ah, I meant in a fan-fictional 'what-if' sense.  In-game, loving her doesn't contribute to her survival in either Mass Effect 2 or 3.  But in real-life, loving Tali'Zorah has kept me holding on to this game, otherwise it would be dead in the water for me.  Oh, and it has provided a boost to my mental health, as im sure it has with many others.
