I just finished the Quarian-Geth conflict on my second playthrough; and after talking to Tali afterwards I picked up on something i missed before. Tali mentions that even though in a few years quarians will be able to live without their suits, they will probably still wear them due to the suits having become such a big part of their culture.

This seems like Bioware's way of having quarians still wear their suits in future games (since it is a big part of that races identity in the universe) while still having them keep their homeworld.

What do you guys think of this?

Yeah, I saw that when I first played and thought to myself, what the heck! After all Tali and Shepard have done they may still wear their suits. I mean, they are cool looking and stuff, but you best believe I'm running butt naked on Rannoch the mintue I don't have to wear a suit. Seriously....suit or no suit...I'll take no suit.

Forgive the butt naked part lol

This at least makes sense.  The quarians will still need their suits, no matter what, whether it be for the geth to boost their immune system to the point where they can live without suits on other worlds, for tradition, and for space-walking.  I will love seeing Tali'Zorah in typical quarian clothing, but i'll also love that suit of hers, that fabric is something else...

Well, Tali would probably be more comfortable in her suit. It must feel very exposed to even take off the mask and reveal your emotions to another person, so I can understand how it has become a part of their culture.
This got me thinking...

Trust is really involved in the Tali/Shepard relationship. It seems very precarious.... one wrong move, and the relationship could be torn apart.
Tali really puts a lot on trust... like it's the most important quality for her, and the level of her trust for Shepard can even fall into the blind trust category, as evidenced on Freedom's Progress. What causes her to be this way? Why does she put so much merit on it? :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Is this the chapter where the interrorgator turns on a set of 4 lights and asks Tali'Zorah, "Tell me...How many lights do you see?"

That was the only bad episode of TNG. That was his only poor showing as an actor in that entire series. TOS, on the other hand, is always pretty bad, and william shatner is awful.

NERDS. EVERYWHERE.

I also theorize that they will probably still need them when not on Rannoch. Since there is likely still a chance they can get sick in other enviorments.

Tali should make it easy on herself and just say there are 5 lights.

Actually, wait, I think Mass Effect would just simply show a picture of a batarian and ask how many eyes he has.

So the question the interrorgator would really ask Tali would be, "How many eyes do you see?"

I think a lot of it has to do with their culture. The Quarians need to trust in one another to make sure everyone surives. So I'm sure the ideal of Trust is very important to them. Also, I think it has something to do with her relationship with her Father. We don't know her whole past, but I'm sure her Father would promise her stuff and have to break them because of Duty.

You know, like...Tali I know I was going to take you to the engine room and show you how to build a mass effect drive from a box of pencils, but I have to handle this issue with work and so on. So her father broke a lot of trust with her so she looks for someone who she can trust in, which is Shepard. The one thing she never really had with her Dad. :D

Quick note regarding the Tali and Garrus romance thing; It doesn't feel like it would fit. I always saw the two as a brother and sister kind of relationship instead of the fling that kind of gets thrown together near the end of ME3. Then again, I might feel this way because to me, canon Shepard is with Tali, every time.

v TIME PARADOX!

Hmmm idk though.
I feel like Tali's father was very reliable, to the point of being above reproach. The thing is, he was rather distant and focused on his goals. He loved her, and that love could be said to be very tied up in trust, considering how obsessive he was about getting Tali a homeworld... He was a trustworthy man... but he doesn't seem particularly friendly, socially. He may be the cause for Tali's standalone nature which is apparent when her beliefs are put into testing ground.=]=]:)

Maybe she was betrayed when she was younger by a good friend or perhaps even an early crush?  Or perhaps it's just the way Quarians get treated in general when they go out into the galaxy on their own.  It often seems they can't trust many people; the quarian on Omega, the one on Illium, the one we saw on the Citadel.  Im sure there could be other reasons but those may be some likely suspects.  It would have been nice if she had a story about something like that to share with Shepard; unless you count the one on the Citadel about the turian.  Not sure if that one holds much weight but it could add to the whole.

I agree completely with you Revan on her father's love for her, but I do believe he was distant as you mentioned which can, in the real world cause massive trust issues. I see them all the time in my hypnotherapy practice. If I remember correctly, I could be wrong, but Tali's aunt mentioned he was distant. Not to be mean, but working hard to try his best to give Tali a home on the homeworld. I think he is 100 percent one of the causes and I'm sure Quarian culture plays a part.

It could also be how Tali was treated when she left the fleet as well. She never really experienced the outside world before her Primiliage. She mentioned many times that people treated her very badly and made fun of her and treated her like scum. I think these issues made trust even more important to her because for her, it was very hard to find someone to trust after all these events....Idk, it's all speculation really. usually when people are mistreated in the real world it makes them hard to trust people. So the harder it is to trust someone, the more important trust becomes. Where trust can be a normal thing for most people and many people trust people everyday Tali's trust is like a diamond very rare. So when she finally found someone who matched her beliefs on trust it just.....well, okay I'm going into another direction hahaha..You get the idea :)

Still, Tali has grown a lot since ME1 as a person and character.
