I just don't understand why there's need to hate any character or (especially) their fanbases. I think Zaeed is a dreadful bore who tries too hard to be badass, but if you like him, power to you. It is a universe filled with diverse and interesting characters, who all have their own appeal (and in some cases, like Udina, hating them is the appeal )

Seconded. Personally I would love to be at a table with Garrus, Zaeed, and Shepard to hear thier war stories. Some interesting ones in thier I'd wager.

Totally agree about Udina, once that Renegade interrupt popped up, my Paragon Shep couldn't hit it fast enough.

So it's not weird to romance someone with head tentacle fringes, blue skin and a freaky embrace eternity mind thing IN ADDITION to having the ability to reproduce with any species and any gender, but only have asari offspring? I'm not bashing anyone who romances Liara, I am merely stating a viewpoint. She's a neat person and all that, but it just...isn't my cup of tea. I can relate to Tali the most out of all female characters in the ME series. I hate to judge, but this person seems like a very looks-oriented person. Looks are always nice, but they aren't what's most important. If you talk to Tali and learn more about her and her culture, you find out quite a bit about why she acts the way she does.

Many many people warmed up to Tali because of how well she could get along with the player. Her warm personality and kind nature attracted a lot of people, myself included. There wasn't a time when Tali wasn't in my squad. She made that much of an impact on me in the story. It's not weird to be attracted to Tali as much as it's not weird to be attracted to anyone else in the series that can be romanced(and same goes for some that can't). Diversity is attractive.

I was lurking as I'm spending time with my wife but I had to chime in and say.......YOU TELL THEM. tali forever and mess with us and I'll hire an army of soldiers that all have shotguns and dressed like tali. Oh and did I mention Tali rules! Now with that said I return back into the darkness of being married....oh, that sounded odd. Y'all know what I mean :ph34r:  P.s. what's up everyone

I think Udina is a great character.   Bioware hit the slimy self serving political critter thing right on the spot.   If Udina where a real person he would be a Congressman.

 I think it's more a perception problem.
Some people see a "lack of reaction" as a "lack of change". I guess he wanted her to become bitter and mean after seeing her father die? Or have a change of worldview upon meeting Legion?

That really does make the difference, I think. For example, most of the people who dismiss Ashley as a xenophobe or religious nut can't have used her very much. I used Ashley a lot on my first ME1 playthrough simply because she was a useful squad member from a tactical POV, and I talk to everyone as much as I can, and I found that was only one side of her, she has much more depth. That's true for almost any squadmate in the trilogy, you just have to give them the chance to show it.

Which, you know, she did. She went from supporting fighting the geth and treating Koris as a fool in ME2 to thinking peace was possible and siding with Koris, mostly because of Legion.

Ha, im watching the Terminator right now (First one) and I can totally see Shepard and Tali in the scene where Arnold breaks into Ginger's apartment. After all, Shepard stood no chance against Legion when they brawled on Rannoch, and seeing Ginger wearing purple robes kinda reminds me of Tali. Too bad she gets shot in the back several times though...I wish I could find a video online to show you the scene, words can't do it justice.

For the record, I can totally see Shepard passed out on Tali's bed, and I can also see Tali making a dextro sandwich and having a glass of milk after their...encounter.
