Drowned in depression? I was going for more of a kind of emo!Javik thing.
Drowning yourself in the mission, single-mindedly saving the galaxy.
And then accepting the black.
I wouldn't say Javik is emo in the least. Imagine losing all your friends and family, that's pretty hard to live with itself. He's lost all of that, including his species and entire culture. That's devastating, for anyone. I'd say his reaction is pretty justifiable.

yeah its the same thing and worst accepting the black is a problem...
Tali would not want that ... what she would want is for you is to live... which was my point about dishonoring the memory.
The point being the people romanticize death a little too much....
Yeah, I'd have to say I'd save the galaxy over Tali. The other way around and you end up with absolutely nothing. Or in the "perfect world" everyone else dies and you're the only two living, you end up living like cave-people because all of the logistical chains that hold society together as we know it are gone. So... you slowly starve or get eaten by varren. Fun.
Yeah, life is harder than death, but it's also a gender issue. Men are psychologically less equipped (generally) than their female counterparts. Case in point are the statistics that show that in elderly couples when one spouse dies, the lifespan of the survivor depends highly on gender. The female party/wife can go on living for decades afterwards, while the male/husband is much more likely to die within the following few months/years.
Shepard is young enough though. I think Tali would want him to move on and live his life.
