When shepard brought tali aboard the SR-2 was jacob aware of the quarian/geth conflict?

I think he was just trying to be helpful. Tali wasn't exactly giving him much of a chance.

Just finished my fourth playthrough of ME2, for the "perfect import" next spring. Left Shepard in his cabin with Tali und nice music. :)

Same here, man - here's hoping those fish last on their own for 7 months, I think Shepard and Tali are going to be a little too busy to feed them. ^_^

I just realized that half of us picture them having sex all the time.:(

tali is bi-curious at most.

The only argument against a bisexual Tali I can think of is that I'd romance Tali with my femsheps too.

It seems a little odd to have no romance option in the first game, introduce it in the second game and then after all that alter it without logical precedent in the third game.

Because I'm anticipating an "oh nos my immersion is ruined" reply. I'll say that in explicit relevance to this character it would be eroded significantly. The powers of the "suspension of disbelief" concept are not limitless.

Of course it won't happen though. Bioware aren't that foolish.

While I was disappointed that Tali was not romanceable in the 1st game, I have no problems with Tali suddenly becoming a romance option in the 2nd game. At all.

She's just that great.

But I would definitely prefer Tali not to suddenly [and unequivocably] become bi in ME3. Just my opinion.

In honesty? Well, at first at least, I would've said she was bi-curious. However, she been with us now through two games, of course they'll be building bonds, over time, anyone would look up to femshep, aspire to be like her, it's perfectly natural, over an extended period of time, which Tali has been with the "crew", I don't see why she couldn't have developed some underlying feeling for femshep without realising.

As many have said previously, let's hope they don't listen to the fanbase and stick with what they've got, which if the S/S is working and will be legit/not taken out, there's no reason why not.
That is, however how I think they'll deal with it, S/S for those whom have been with you since the start, the V.S.. is debatable.

  @Comsky159  It's character development, simple.

Heard this a lot but I politely dispute whether you can justify it like that . I believe if Tali didn't approach femshep in the manner she approached male Shep in ME2, a romance will not and should not happen in ME3.

Firstly, we know that Tali is not currently bisexuality, because via the "only personality matters" argument she would have approached both genders fairly identically. Any argument against this is a very long shot.

In a traditional sci-fi epic, a "coming out of the closet" subplot (or alteration of orientation), particularly for someone in an alien race is unheard of to my knowledge.  If Bioware did something like this, they would be making a huge joke of the traditionist genre they hitherto defined in the first two games and so a laughing stock of themselves. Understand that characters in Bioware/sci-fi games and literature tend to be intrinsic archetypes (albeit archetypes moulded very well). All characters fill a role which preceded their conception, they follow a formula ingrained by a kind of shared network of seperate (yet in many ways similar) sci-fi canons which combined to set the skeleton for a quite linear and structured evolution of the genre. Garrus constitues the conventional bat-man style bad ass. Tali is the exotic, mysterious alien from Ipanema. They're not shallow characters at any rate, but their character depth may manifest itself effectively only on certain levels. While there is some room for these characters to move around and develop there are undeniable limitations. We can't treat Mass Effect's characters like people treat Sex in the City characters.

If when we encountered Wrex in ME2 and he was sporting a dress and make-up, would we accept that as character development? No. We'd LMAO. :P

Agreed completely. Tali becoming a LI in ME2 when in ME1 she was not did make sense in my mind (or atleast the explenation for it). From the dialoge In ME1 we know Tali likely considered her attraction to Shepard to be a childish crush, and that there was no realistic possibility of it working out. This is a reasonable explenation for why Tali was not a LI in ME1 but was in ME2.

Bioware listens to the fanbase, but thats good and bad. Fans don't know what they want. We should have hope that bioware makes the hard choices about the characters they have created. Because if character development was left to us fans, well the day ME3 releases BSN servers would melt and the known universe would collapse.

Lucky she's fictional or I imagine she'd be filing restraining orders left, right and centre.

That's where I stand as well. The developers create the true framework for us and we let it envelop us. The only time when the fans should have power (or at least the illusion of power) is when they are immersed in the universe.

I mostly picture them spending time together. Not really into imagining wild sex scenarios for the two, that was never my cup of tea.

Well, as I mentioned, at best she was bi-curious, however, if you read what I had said, it would be perfectly understandable if she had underlying feelings for femshep, but didn't -realise- it until a later date. That is the case for most human beings, at least.
Yes, what i'm saying as it may take some extra time for this to come out, like her feelings for Sheploo in ME2. Tali is an intricate character, there's more than greets the eye in more sense than one. To say it's impossible, in itself is rather silly, imo. People change and i'm damn sure other species, Quarian's in this case can do exactly that to.

Still holding out for Tali news at Gamescom.

Nothing new just yet, just what they said at ComicCon (or was it E3) that "They know exactly what they are doing about Tali's face and we'll have to wait until release to find out".

Me too ^_^

For weird reasons I cannot picture them as a wild sex relationship.
