If I were to guess how long it would take for a quarian with geth intervention to adapt to Rannoch's climate, I would say 5 years. For a quarian to adapt to 'regular' climates that most organics interact with would take 20 years, maybe longer. But...there is one interesting question that I'm curious to know about:

If Tali'Zorah stated that only Shepard gets into her suit, does that mean she'll have to adapt on her own? Or is it possible they may bring this up again and eventually agree to the geth adaptations for Tali to help her live on Rannoch without the suit?

I think she'll come around to the geth improvements, but I don't think she will actually let one inside her suit. The geth can't just magically fix the quarian immune system, they have to use gene therapy or something. Tali can have a geth just give her the information, and do it herself.

Do we even know what goes on?  I guess 'maybe' I could understand why she doesn't want this to happen; I mean, Tali only wants to share her body with Shepard, and she doesn't really want any sort of even non-intimate contact from anybody or anything else.  But don't all they do is just inject nanites into their bloodstream and let them take care of the quarian immune system?

What kind of food do Quarians eat on the Flotilla?

Nanomachines don't seem exist in the ME universe for some reason. But they would make it stupidly easy to modify the quarian immune system.

I also don't understand the ban on genetic engineering. GE is the most important field in biology.

Reapers and religion, respectively. That'd be my best guesses.
I mean, the Reapers wove "safeties" into FTL that prevent crashes so tightly because they'd die to that kind of tactic.
And nanomachines could counteract indoctrination.

Nanites and cybernetics don't count as people. Tali would probably let the geth into her suit. Quarians already use cybernetics to enhance interaction with their suits, and that probably includes Tali. Tali wouldn't let in a geth AI, that would be weird because now they are basically people. Just some geth software for adaptation would be let in.

Nanomachines can't counter indoctrination, because we have no idea how indoctrination works or how to stop it. They would have a limited ability to fight of the reaperfication nanites, but that's it. Indoctrination also works on some sort of signal, emitted from the reapers themselves. Can't fight that crap with nanites.

I don't think the GE thing is due to religion though. No one ever gives a hint that they are religious, except for ash, and all the asari seem to be mehtheists. Damn council and their stupid laws that curtail advancement.

...There's no other explanation than religion, really.
I mean, would you stop enhancements of your own kind and others for arbitrary reasons, or because of a belief?

And you could fight it with nanites, you'd just need to figure out what causes it. There's a reason the Reapers arbitrarily allow some tech and don't let the cycles have access to others.

Well religion is stupid. Especially when you find alien races, explore the galaxy, discover new worlds, and make homes among the stars. Religion looks infinitely more childish when you can sit at a restauraunt with your alien friends eating alien foods listening to alien mustic or watching an alien movie. Aliens, man. Better than religion. By a lot. And so is GE.

Also, please snip pyramids.

Cheese, I'd hope that anyone smart enough to understand the power of GE, educated enough to be able to carry out GE, and creative enough to make full use of GE would not be a total ****. Being a genengineer would be the most amazing job in the universe. Why would you waste your talents of a ridiculous notion of racial superiority?

Cheese's thinking is something we cannot comprehend.  It's too bad we haven't perfected Gene Therapy yet, otherwise I would be pushing for Cheese to have his genes fixed.  I need to get mine fixed as well, but for different reasons; Poor eyesight and a few other things.  Oh poor Cheese...

Oh come on, we all know that Starchild is god, Harbinger is Jesus, and Shepard is the Antichrist... or at least that's what a a satanist would believe.

And besides, crap like this gives atheists a baaaad name.
