Because the developers were obviously having a lapse of sanity when they decided the order of recruiting.

That is a BIG issue with me. I have never liked that. They put the most boring characters, except Garrus to get in ME2 first and the best, Tali the last. Hell, even in ME3 you have to wait forever to get her. I needed Tali when deciding to cure the Krogan. She is always my voice of reason.

Shame on Bioware. They created a character they never thought would gain the popularitiy she did and yet they still make Liara their leading lady. I love Liara as a friend and team mate, but come on....we need Tali, first mission
