Just finished reading chapter 15, amazing to say the least.

Loved how you brought up the Dark Energy plot back to life. Despite the rather dark and dramatic feel to it, the story was so believable It felt like I was reading some leaked script from BioWare  [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

Oh poor Tali, I think some manly tears were shed over my keyboard  but what really kept me going were those 3 last words in chapter 10 <3

True but you don't have to really like a person to work for or with them, people do this everyday on jobs. lol  Aside from that the galaxy is at stake; they may tolerate it just long enough to save it for the good of everyone if Shepard proves he can get results. 

I agree it is simplistic to say somone will either love you or hate you, but the only way you can really make a crewmember dislike you aside from them giving you a tutting coment in a mission is in me2 where they can become disloyal if you mess up their loyalty mission.


I would assume it kind of locks you out as a renagade anyway since (I have never tried this) talking to a LI and doing nothing but renagade or bottom choices would not make a romance happen?

I've never tried that either. lol  Basically the idea I was referring to is like an evolved version of the Dragon Age morality system mixed with the ME version.  Depending on what you did in that game certain characters respond to you differently.  It's very possible to be friends with everyone but there are certain actions that may cause them to distrust or even betray you.  I always thought that was an interesting dynamic and actually made alot of sense.  Anyway that's beside the point.  TALI!!

I can never bring myself to romance her playing an angry, shouty renegade Shep personally. Just doesn't feel right somehow.

I personally romance her as a Paragon Shepard; always have.  It would be strange to me to see her fall for someone constantly being mean toward her or others in general; unless they just had it coming. 

Now that you bring that up I wonder if they'll take that step in a future ME game where certain romances only become open to you depending on your characters personality.  Certain characters may not be attracted to paragon or renegade, etc.

Would make some sense that certain characters would not be willing to be romanced by renegade Shep....or someone like Morinth would likely despise a paragon Shep.

Any renegade Shep romacing Tali would have to be careful what he said, especially about Quarians or he may hear the dreaded reply

'I have a shotgun Shepard.....'

I kind of understand where your going, I have never played the DA series so I could not comment on that. 
I think to simplify things a little bit there are less of these lockout type things in ME, and you can easily overlook them if you "responsibly" roleplay, I.e you can make your shepard be an evil bastard one mission, and a self rightious paragon then next which would require some explanation to his personality shift, but players are mostly going to choose one style. There are some things that are abuseable or don't make sense unless the player roleplays in a realistic manner.


But your right... for Tali!

And to add to the renegade Shepard vs. Tali discussion - I solemnly believe no Shepard can be truly renegade around Tali. She might have prejudices and all, but from the beginning she has that subtle "is this right?" about her, that is not nagging, but moving, forming a little, persuading. She will always let him slide some past her, but she'll always keep him on the good side somehow.

The one for renegade Shepard? Liara.



But then again, true love is Tali. So true love has always some good.

Same for me; well somewhat.  I can draw, but I'd have to completely alter my style to fit Mass Effect.  Im not used to drawing stuff like that.  I definitely enjoy watching the artists on here that can make it happen though.   Speaking of which Im still waiting in anticipation for Revan's dinner meeting art!

The top picture is awesome, and frankly, should be how Tali should have looked. That or the "Starfish" one that I love so much. I like the current picture, but it should have been shooped better.

I need some filler ideas for the fic. Anyone got anything they'd like to read.

I like the 'starfish' pic but it doesn't quite work as Tali for me. Somehow I imagined the Quarians helmets as being too snug and close fitting for those projections.

in my head Tali, and Quarians generally, has a thin face (judging by the narrow look of the helmets) with delicate features and close cut hair. Always imagine Tali in particular as having a rather pixie-ish, mischievious smile for some reason.

just my tuppenceworth.

No looks issue here, if that were the case I'd not have wanted her as a LI in ME1. lol  And yes I agree I also like that version above too.  Hell I just like that picture in general; that is just gorgeous.

I really disliked Korris at first in ME2, after a couple replays and then ME3 he's really grown on me.

has the guts to admit he was wrong to bring politics in to Tali's trial, wants you save his crew over his own life on Rannoch and is the only one of the admiralty with the balls to admit the Quarians screwed up with the geth 300 years ago.

Still no match for my fave Quarian of course
