Going to start Chapter 6 soon. Thinking of having some simple downtime on the way to the Citadel with Tali and Shep. Anyone for or against this? Otherwise I'll just keep on with the plot and move things along.

That does sound lovely:wub::wub: I want more jelly moments tho xD

I think you were the one what requested this :)

I shall not snip this away. This is amazing. Thanks so much.

As for the chapter, I think I might be able to add both. The Jelly moments will have to be when Shepard and Tali are seen together doing stuff that they like and Ashley walking in on em. hm, gives me an idea.

hello everybody and its science fiction so anything is possible ^^

A child that is a human/quarian hybrid is not possible without technological intervention.
But with GEngineering, nanites, lots of tech, and a *ahem* squirt gun, this could work.

I thought the slang for that was "thermal clip" or somethign along those lines anyway? :P

Well, if you REALLY want to go overboard, Dr. Chakwas could inject shep's testicles with some kind of crazy stuff and they could at least concieve a child in the normal fashion. But not really the normal fashion at all.

...
Not what I meant. Going to borrow a line from Garrus and say that that metaphor just went somewhere horrible. Perhaps a change in direction eh?

Different situation. Brutes are mindless killing machines that quickly burn themselves out and are recycled/destroyed and replaced. A fetus has to go through myriad developmental processes throughout embryonic and post-birth stages. And they need to last 100+ years. And not be insane. And not require nanites to keep them alive, as well as craptons of reaper tech implants.

Could... but everyone seems to think about the rights (enjoyment?) of the parents and not the rights of the child that would be a one off freak that would be shunned by both species and hate its parents for its existance... Tali having a donor Quarian baby is the furthest I will go, and even then its somthing best left to the imagination of people who would want that.

but having parents that love them does not really matter if every body thinks that way their will be some people who exsept them for who they are

Why obsess over some science freak if you could double-surrogate? Or adopt? Or just have one surrogate baby?

ah, but this way your GENES get to be in the child. And it's more of a personalized child, and you can say "oh look, he has your eyes" or "look, he's got your smile" or she, if that's your preference. And it feels more natural. But adoption is just as adorable and just as important. I think either would be good for them, but not both....

Random thought: In a perfect world after stopping the Reapers, I know who Shep and Tali can adopt to raise as their own; Jona.

While not the only choice, it's fitting because you've both witness the deaths of his parents. Unknown mother on the Alarei (sp?) and father Dorn'Hazt on Rannoch. It would be a neat way of fitting everything together imo.

Just realized we saw both parents died today after replaying the Rannoch arc. Anyway, anything new in the world of Tali?

I disagree, on the grounds that Tali and Shepard are obviously cursed, and need to stay away from him and any remaining reletives of said Quarian, else they will get killed only for Shepard and Tali to hear there last words...

Yes, but surely anyone would hope their child would be able to live a "normal" life outside of their home, would be able to make its own decisions on becoming a parent its self, which would be unlikely if it was a true hybrid. Its just so uneeded, Miranda is very unhappy about being enginered and she is just superhuman, not transhuman. Your shepard could easlily love a surrogate child or adopted child if thats what you wanted

Indeed. I'm not even that keen on kids anyway, doesn't feel like something tali would be interested in. Shepard-Tali seem more soulmates that are content with eachother.

But if she were it would be adoption.

Huh... I'd say it's because of crazy admirals that they died, not Tali or Shep. Mother dies because Rael'Zorah decides to experiment on active geth in large numbers (more than 1) and father died because of crazy attempt to take the homeworld via a war (Thanks to Han'Gerrel/Zen). So I respectfully disagree. However, it may be a bit weird telling Jona they were there for both. Hmmm.

Well it depends on what this creature really is, but I am assuming any hybrid is sterile, and it would be an imposition on the child for no reason other than Shepard or/ And Tali saying they would not accept any child that is not geneticly part of them in some way.

Hey Bazzinator

Yes I did. I read the first two chapters when I got back after work. Then I fell asleep and watched TV (or perhaps the other way around, not sure).

I have to say I'm very disapointed in you.

Just kidding. B)  It was a lot of fun. I wasn't actually expecting a Mass Effect universe thing, but good to get two heroines for the price of one. Revan and Tali? How can it not be good! I look forward to chapter three.

Well, with all that heroing they were doing, it's understandable that they'd know this kind of thing. The whole "If it wasn't for your father, we'd all be dead" angle would soften the blow a little.

I think they'd be fine with Tali and Shep. Just may want to... you know... avoid wearing a Red Shirt, being the day before retirement or getting married to another tertiary character just before a big battle. Then they should be fine.

He should develop a rapport with some other war orphan, perhaps a batarian, and they can become Those Two Guys.

Glad you liked it. I'm enjoying writing it, to not have a pressure on me to get it right, knowing it is just for fun, and a good laff.

Gonna PM you in a mo by the way, to do with the secret project me and Exile have been working on

Oh the Irony if your Shep is a colonist. Least I think that's the right background.

That sounds racist.
It was slavers who hit Mindoir. They just happened to be batarians.
