Well, to be honest, the photoshop is what bugs me the most.  Oh, and the incorrect finger positioning.  But if it was original art, I think I would be far more happy with what we got.

Now, on the other hand, there are those who would complain regardless, and to be honest, they're fools.  And should be eaten.

Well its just being nit picky that she has fairly neat long hair and decided to put a cardigan on, instead of her just having her helmet off and her hood down.

The photo makes sense if Tali was an entity that existed outside the game and often took her suit off on certain planets fairly often, but... hmmmm I can't really explain

People like the almost human concept, just not certain details of it

I don't understand how you'd be more satisfied if it wasn't based off of a different photo. It's the same to regardless of if it was based on something else or not. Would you be more satisfied with how Sheploo looks if they didn't steal Mark Vanderloo's face? That just seems like a silly proposition to me.

My shepard is not based off a dutchman ... A stock image would be fine if they had done more too it, and did a good job on it.


There are some things they just would not have done if it was original artwork

Just what I mean is, they did not choose that picture of Tali because they thought that Tali would wear knitwear when outside her suit, it was just what came with the face, while if they drew Tali outside her suit I assume they would have her in some sort of under suit/jumpsuit type thing.

That's a mighty big assumption to make. Who's to say they wouldn't have done the same kind of picture if it wasn't original?

That's like saying, well if Microsoft made their own language instead of using someone else's Windows would be incredibly different than it is now. That just seems silly to me. Both BioWare and Microsoft had a set idea in mind when making their products. Regardless of if it was based off a different photo or not, Tali would very likely still look human like, have slightly purple skin,, cybernetic markings, and glowing eyes.

Lol, I agree its nitpicky, but its the picture as a whole that has problems... people like "improved" versions of the picture with better hands ect.

In the laziest and most half-assed way I can think of.

Bioware employee #1: Hey, tali is the most popular character in this game, we should show her face in the final game.
BE #2: Yeah! We should have all of our art guys brainstorm this for a few months, they should come up with several dozen workable designs in that time, and then we can work out how to show it!
BE #1: OR, we could have one guy photoshop an existing picture very poorly, and the picture won't make any sense in its reveal or content!

Really? How did this happen? Damn bioware is a garbage company now.

Ok, I hate to be argumentative so Its the last thing I will say on this (last word lol).
Yes the face its self is good, and if they had made a wierd locket type picture with just that it would have been fine. You concentrate on whats important (I.E the face) and thats fine, while me and others obsess over "incorrect" details... which is what wierd internet people will do...

The main thing is the "percived" lack of effort put into it. If you watch you only live twice, and you get the final scene with the volcano rocket base, if you enhanced the image you would find to your "horror" that the producers did not really hollow out a volcano, but built one out of wood and fibreglass outside pinewood studios becuase it would cost too much to really build one (13 billon £ by a reccent estimate), if you coud see behind the walls there would not be hundreds of feet of igneous rock, but wooden supports... but film never shows this, becuase the camera shows what you see. And no one gives a dam about this, and never has until right about this moment lol.


When I saw the Tali picture ingame for the first time I went Awww is'nt that nice..., looks a bit photo like... but nah...
put it down, no need to look at it agian, that was their hope/ intent, that it was just a background piece, not somthing to look into too much, but they did not count on the increased scrutiny things like the Day one dlc and and disapointing endings would bring...

As silly as it looks in the picture, I bet a lot of people would love to have that sweater.  Face it gamer, even you would want to wear something like that.

There are hundreds of artists who made better tali face art. I'm not asking for perfect, just for some real effort.

Not asking for perfection but the least they can do is act like they cared... which they did somewhat because the stock model is  lovely but the could have put more effort in the photoshop job.
