I'm actually glad about that. With the tranwreck that was ME3, it would only be a matter of time before tali became a bimbofied sexdoll with as much personality as a refrigerator door handle. We are very lucky that weekes and enough of the writing team did their jobs correctly and gave tali a good final show. We can't ask for more, because we shall never recieve.

I'm composed entirely of negative energy right now. If not for tali acting as a barrier, I would obliterate my surroundings like a hundred kilo antimatter bomb.

Try a different line of thinking. It'd be better for your own internal organs if nothing else.

Shepard don't shoot unarmed people. He also would not know where the interrogation room is. He never had to go there before.

"Why did you kill him?"

"I didn't."

"Of course you did."

"I did not!"

"Yes, you did!"

"No, I didn't!"

"Bull****!"

"I didn't do it! I can't be the murderer!"

"Why not?"

"Because we're only halfway through the story!"

"Damn it! You can go."

I'm really not sure why I started writing again for the first time in years... possibly due to my frustrations with ME3 and its ending, possibly out of boredom while I wait for the Extended Cut to arrive so i can finish the last episode of my ME3 Fanedit video series, or possibly just cause I started reading other fanfics like Tairis Deamhan's "Razor's Edge" series and got interested in writing again... but I started writing some stuff for an ME3 "Shepard/Tali" story based on some ideas/concepts I had on what ME3's plot could contain before the game got released.

Right now, I just have several random scenes from across the story complete, but thought I'd post a preview of one of the finished scenes from later in the story (about 2/3-3/4s into it) just to get others opinion of my writing, see what you all think:

Garrus's gaze becomes fixated on a random hospital intern through the window – a human girl with short
reddish hair and brown eyes, who looked relatively new to her job and was helping an asari with a fractured leg into a mobile-chair, presumably to take her out to the main lobby and give the patient a greater view of the Presidium than what her small room was afforded. Garrus lets out a cough to clear his throat and runs his right hand over his crest absentmindedly, trying to come up something, anything to talk about out loud in order to drown out the silence in the room.

“You know, I was talking with James for a bit early before on the Normandy - initially just really stupid crap about who's the better soldier and seen the most action in our careers,” he continues with an deep exhale, still watching the human intern and her asari patient. “Hah, 'trained a Harvester to fly with me riding it', my blue ass. Somehow from that stupidity, though, we got onto the topic of differing human and turian expressions. He told me there was an old Earth saying that went 'May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead'... though admittedly, I am not sure if turian heaven is anywhere close to human heaven, or whether or not heaven's bureaucrats got it segregated into different alien subsections,” he adds with a brief, bitter chuckle.

“But I want you to know this, Shepard,” he goes on by himself, unable to turn and address the unconscious human in the same room, “If this thing does end up going sideways and we all end up in the same place... if you get there before I do... I'll meet you at the bar and buy you as many rounds as you like when I arrive.”

“Hehh... Vakarian and Shepard conquering the bars of heaven... guess there are worse ways of spending the afterlife...”

Garrus spun around at the abrupt voice, his eyes widening as he sees the ragged Commander in the hospital bed staring back at him with a light smile on his lips. Shepard's blue eyes were gingerly opening themselves, but were having some trouble bringing the room into focus, unaccustomed to having normal sight from being in darkness for several days. Garrus stands silently dumbfounded for several moments, his brain suddenly unable to process a single thought, before he manages to regain control of his limbs and steps over to the sleeping quarian in the chair, nudging her on the the shoulder.

“Tali. Tali, wake up!”

“Nuhh...” she murmured sluggishly.

Garrus shook her arm harder. “Tali, Shepard's awake, get up!”

The mere mention of the words “Shepard” and “awake” was enough to force the doldrums from Tali's exhausted body, her silvery eyes forced themselves wide open and re-illuminating the dark interior of her visor. “John!” she
exclaimed and gently pushes Garrus out of her way, her dulled legs nearly tripping over themselves as she scrabbles to human's bedside.

“Hah, there's my beautiful girl,” Shepard chuckled softly as his hand raises out from under the blankets and reaching for the quarian woman, despite the numerous IVs and tubes attached to his flesh and muscle trying to tug his arm back downward. Tali's hand quickly finds his, a breath of relief escaping her lips as she feels the strength of his digits squeeze her fingers back gently. The glowing orbs from inside her visor quickly scan over the exposed skin of Shepard's body despite having seen it all before - the deep bruises that travel along his chest and left shoulder up to the side of his neck, the covered bandages where the slugs had pierced through his armor and entered his body, the tubes and wires embedded into his veins, the healing scar along his collarbone revealing the hint of his body's cybernetic implants. Finally, her sights settle back onto his face, onto that soft smile that etches his mouth and the warmth illuminating from his deep blues eyes as he peers back up at her.

Shepard's fingers squeezes Tali's hand again as she slowly lowers her head down to his, the cool glass of
her visor coming down to lightly rest against his forehead while the edges of her veil outline the sides of his face. “There's my girl,” he exhales in a subdued whisper, his eyes finally closing themselves from the over-stimulation of light while her glowing silver orbs continue to linger on him and him alone. A deep, long sigh can be heard from the quarian's voice modulator as the stress and tension of her body are released from her lungs.

Any persisting trace of Liara's bitter words from earlier are wiped clear from Tali's mind, any lingering memory over the lies that Udina had tried to unleash and that Kaiden had foolishly believed are extinguished by the truth that she knows deep in her heart... this man is Commander John Shepard, her Commander John Shepard.

“Always, my hesh'la... always.”

Luckily we discover the body always at the beginning.

Coffee?

Yeah, thanks...wait a minute, there's nothing in here.

Sure, those are just props.

Let's drive to headquarters.

*at headquarters*

Why are we so different, anyway?

It's to create tension.

And how do the viewers profit from it?

It can result in several humorous and entertaining coincidences down the road. But I got a lead.

Let's go.

*in car*

Oh, let's not forget the background shot showing the city we're in.

*arriving*

Aren't we lacking the social component?

You mean the fight against the odds, supporting diversity, bashing egotism and greedy profiteering?

Yes.

Coming up now. Lobbyism.

Ah, perfect.

And so on, and so on...

Should sleep. Tali will be ours tomorrow, as well.

When I think Jerry Springer and Mass Effect, I visualize Joker showing up on it with Shepard being a surprise guest.  Today's topic:  My commanding officer saved the galaxy and noone belives me.

Reminds me of Shep talking to Legion in 3.

Shep: And they believed you?
Legion: Yes.
Shep: That must've been nice.

Sorry for quoting something that was 3 hours ago, but I had to comment since no one else did. Good writing AVpen, can;t wait to see the finished story? Whens this scene ment to take place? After the ending?

The scene takes place after the Udina Coup on the Citadel, which now takes place after the Rannoch missions (and after a new mission/subplot involving Shepard & co. going to inspect the progress on the Crucible, only to then have to escape with the Alliance fleets and WIP Crucible when a traitor leaks the location of the project to Cerberus and the Reapers)  -  during the Coup, Udina had managed to turn Kaidan against Shepard by showing him "evidence" (that he claimed the Alliance obtained from Cerberus raids) which "proved" that the real Commander Shepard did die during the Collector attack 2-3 years ago and that the current Shepard was a cloned double-agent for Cerberus, leading Kaidan to attack Shepard with his biotics during the encounter with the Councilors on the roof.

Fyi, there's also a tense scene in the same chapter of the scene posted above between Liara and Tali and who's "connection" is more deserving of Shepard (desite Liara's one-sided infatuation with Shepard).... needless to say, Tali doesn't back down for nothing. ;)

Also, before someone else mentions it, yeah, there are some past/present tense verb switching in that scene - it was corrected, but I accidently posted an earlier save of the scene (and didn't realize it while I was trying to fix that damn formatting that was applied to it by the forum)

Heh.  I could totally see Joker threatening to whoop someone's ass on Jerry Springer when he's being talked back to, then when Shepard tries to calm the two down, he takes a renegade interrupt, charges across the room and whoops that guy's ass.  I would laugh if it was Admiral Garrel that he attacked, and Tali tried to break up the fight between them.

*Pulls Admiral Garrel's hood off*

Shepard:  "I got your hood!  I GOT YOUR HOOD!"

If it's after the dreadnought mission, she might just help Joker.

She might.  If that's the case, then Auntie Raan might try to break up the fight along with some of the quarian marines.  Actually, scratch that, I think the whole admiralty board would join in the fight and the quarian marines would try to break it up.  I hope they don't all have to resign after this fight...
