Yeah, im sure Shepard felt the same way about his legs when Tali pounced him...although at least his aren't broken. I heard the bed they were on no longer have intact legs. His bed can take a crash landing by a cerberus soldier...

But when it comes to Tali, oh man...

Now now. That pounce may be the reason that the Heavy Bone Weave doesn't import to ME3, but he still ran a suicide mission on them!forthary wrote...

The bed, on the other hand... Most of the cost of the scar removal equipment was actually for reinforcing it.

Unless one or both of them are immune to PTSD. Having nightmares is reasonable when you're currently undergoing traumatic stress, but who's to say that they'll happen afterward?
Honestly, when the EC comes out, a Shepard who earned a happy ending likely won't end up getting it. (But if you did some disastrous or monstrous stuff, and still came in to survive the Destroy ending EMS wise... it might be different.)
No one is immune to PTSD, unless you're a sociopath perhaps. Only the threshold changes. It also isn't something magically solved by a vacation. EMDR and RET are so far some of the more successful methods in PTSD therapy, but not even that works 100% of the time. Each case is different, just as every person is.
And are we assuming that only a "monsterous" or "evil" Shepard would choose Destroy? Or that Destroy is the "bad" option?

Some people just don't get PTSD. It's a quirk. We know what kinds of trauma cause it, but can never tell if a certain person would end up with it from said trauma. Psycho/sociopaths can still be subject to constant adrenaline rushes, and can still end up with PTSD.
And I'm saying you don't need to be a hero to get 4000/5000 EMS and pick Destroy. I'm talking epilogue matters here.

And I still think you're assuming, unless you have some experience in the study of it. Saying some people "just don't" get PTSD is something nearly impossible to prove. It's not a quantifiable thing, and depends on how great the amount of trauma the subject percieved it to be, their coping mechanisms, and where their threshold lies. To say that it's impossible for some to get it is an assumption, and the answer why one of two subjects who experienced the same exact trauma (combat, for example) shows symptoms of PTSD while the other does not is most likely due to the factors I mentioned previously. Not because one is "immune".
The comment about sociopaths was more of a "half joke", but I'd imagine if someone conducted a study they might show a higher threshold for symptoms given their lack of ability to experience empathy.

You seemed to be assuming yourself that everyone has a definable breaking point.
I was merely using a shorthand. And given what Shepard can (mostly) shrug off *coughtalisme3death* it's not an unreasonable one.
Now, on topic, before two people without any kind of psychology degrees make people who know what they're talking about facepalm.

Well, I won't go further into it for the sake of the thread, but most of my studies over the past several years have been psychology, PTSD and ASD were a main focus of several of them, and I studied under one of the people who worked with Dr. Hans Selye, who was the one who came up with the term 'general adaptation syndrome'. I've also been to combat and experienced it/seen my friends experience it firsthand. I don't claim to know everything, or even be an expert, but I do have some knowledge behind this. I'll save the speech for another time.
