I played ME1 first. I can't recall if I paid her any special notice on the Citadel, but I do remember that when I first went to engineering on the Normandy with her there, and she was saying "this ship is great" and Adams was saying "this quarian knows her stuff" and I was thinking "that's my girl, an engineer through and through".

The more I talked to her, the more I grew to love her spirit and enthusiasm.

And then I discovered she wasn't a romance option.

But then I played ME2 and it was like Freedom's Progress: yay, favourite character is back!  Haestrom: yay, favourite character is back for real!  Talking to Kelly: she's interested!?!?!?  After trial: romance at last!

And then I played ME3. Earth: yay, Anderson, but where's Tali? Mars: yay, Liara, but where's Tali? Palaven: yay, Garrus, but where's Tali? Sur'kesh: yay, Wrex, but where's Tali? Tuchanka: oh no, Mordin! I need a hug from Tali, dammit! Citadel: bastard Udina, Ashley's back, but still no Tali! Then, the Migrant Fleet: TOTALLY WORTH IT! Then Rannoch, which was awesome, the Cerberus base, which was okay, the goodbyes on earth, which was sad, and then there's a strange gap in my memory, I can't remember what happened next!

Neither I can remeber. Some kind of an ending, but I got indoctrinated by Tali and I do not remember it.

And then she feels like she's bluffing, trying to convince them that the admiral's daughter knows what she's doing.

...And she's right on that. It's not like Miranda, where provided you get her everything she asks for and needs, she does it fine. And I'm going to stop there. Unless, of course, you go for the "epic bout of peace-getting paragon heroism/renegade bluffery" option.

I would think all Quarians have arachnophobia since they evolved on a planet without incects and spiders....thus they freak them the hell out

It'd be more likely that none of them do (except Tali but she's frickin' weird in that regard) for the exact same reason.

Hah. I don't know what's worse, how some people can discuss creepy fetishes on this thread, or how hypocritical gamer is for blagging on people talking about Tali's sexuality when she casually discusses everyone she'd want to lay whenever she feels like it.

But her use of nerve stimulators is a part of her character, just like Grunt's combined love of Vaenia, Earnest Hemingway, (fun fact, he deleted A Farewell To Arms because of a miscarriage in the plot reminding him of the genophage, not because of the title) and krogan action figures.

I suspect it's just Tali that has spider issues. But with all the old ships they pick up from wherever they can pick them up, it's entirely possible the odd one has a spider infestation.

As awesome as Tali is, she's not everything and nothing at once. We'll just have to put up with it. The racism she used to have against the geth, proven wrong by new knowledge and peace, her love of shotguns, her neglect of the humble pistol she also uses, the mystery of how she acquired her fear of spiders (the cut content explaining this made no sense and was pretty much a retcon, hence cut) her tech abilities that are second only to Engineer Adams and Infiltrator/Engineer Shepard, how adorable she is, the hips, the drunk scene, how she was overwhelmed with sheer happiness her first night with Shepard... etcetera.

Its different to hate old enemy than species, I think all Quarians hate Geth as enemy, not because of they are another specie. Thats not racism, but like Ashley treat aliens, that racism

It's still fundimentally racist. That's the reason the geth were forced to rebel in the first place. Most (though not all) ancient quarians couldn't handle the idea of their workerbots being slowly sparked into true life. Although, ironically, it's also the only reason the Reapers didn't just curbstomp the galaxy again. Tali would never have got that evidence on Saren if the quarians weren't exiled, after all. Plus, the Reapers may have later indoctrinated/infected/whatever the geth and had them do worse. So it was a horrible decision that turned out for the best.

Plus, Ash isn't racist. She distrusts politicians, and believes that all aliens mistrust humanity. She's gradually proven wrong on that, and she never anthropomorphises someone based on their species, she always gets to know the individual. Although her argument about "siccing your dog on it and running" is kind of short-sighted, and doesn't take sentience into account, people read far too much into it. All I read into it is dialog shortcomings, as Shepard is unable to point out the fact that she's comparing apples and oranges.
