Shepard is lying on the long couch in the living room, the overhead display glowing orange as it displays file after file. His gun is on the table right next to him. More guitar music is filling the room.*

Tali: You never relax.

Shepard: Not true.

Tali *forming the towel to a makeshift hood*: It's true. You spend all evening looking at files of cases.

Shepard: Hm.

Tali *sitting down on the part of the couch not covered by his feet*: What is it with you. You never look at files at work.

Shepard: I can't relax at work.

Tali *shaking head slightly and smiling*: You find reading about death relaxing?

Shepard: I can think better when I'm relaxed. Then I read.

Tali: You need to relax more.

Shepard: Hm.

Tali *crawling up to him*: I'll teach you to ignore my orders.

Shepard *looking to her as she moves over him*: Maybe I'm just coercing you.

Tali *smiling after kissing him*: That what you think?

Shepard: Yes, kinda...ow!

Tali *shocked and removing her hand quickly from his chest*: Oh keelah, I'm so sorry!

Shepard: S'okay. S'okay...

Tali *jumping off the couch*: No, no, I'm sorry, I just forgot, I-"

Shepard *grabbing her arm and pulling her close*: It's okay, Tali.

Tali *first hesitating, then gliding into his hug, but staying kneeling on the floor*: It's my fault. Me asking you to not shoot everybody. Me not expecting the grenade. And now touching you where you're hurt. I'm..."

*Shepard seals her lips with a kiss.*

*They're kissing and hugging for a while, not moving much, as the display covers their faces in an orange glow. After a while, Shepard stops and just pets her cheek*

Shepard: You were always totally worth it.

Tali *blushes and smiles at him shyly*: Still no regrets?

*Shepard shakes his head*

Tali: They offered you a lot.

Shepard: They could never offer enough.

*Tali sighs happily and glides into another soft hug.*

Doma VI: A shuttle from "From Illium to Thessia" food services is arriving.

Tali: I'll get it.

*Tali gives Shepard a short kiss and gets up to go through the door. She takes her mask and puts it on before entering the lock to the small hallway. Shepard follows her with her eyes, smiling slightly. As she leaves, he turns his head to the display again.*

Shepard: Search for cross-references between Case 2835 and Case 2873.

Doma VI: Negative.

Shepard: Search credit payments of Case 2835 and Case 2873 for cross-references.

Doma VI: Negative.

Shepard: Search for common places visited by Case 2835 and Case 2873.

Doma VI: Rannoch Special Investigation Headquarters.

Shepard: What? Display dates.

Doma VI: Case 2835 visited Rannoch Special Investigation Headquarters, Department of Commerce Crime, four days ago. Case 2873 visited Rannoch Special Investigation Headquarters, Port Authority, ten days ago.

Shepard: Whom did Case 2873 visit at the Port Authority?

Doma VI: Negative.

Shepard: Note results in both case files.

*Tali comes in with several containers*

Tali: Wanna eat there?

Shepard: Nah. Let's have a proper dinner.

*Tali is smiling happily as she takes off her mask again. She moves the food to the dining room table which is very close to the kitchen. Shepard repositions himself to get up carefully*

Shepard: Close files. Log-off.

Doma VI: Logging you off.

*the display disappears*

I thought the lesson was "You can't defeat eldritch abominations from that side of the forth wall"
A lesson that Earthbound already taught us, I might add.
