Alright, so I had a rather interesting question to ask you Talimancers:
Let's pretend that in the new EC ending, you beat a final boss (Even though bioware devs would rather try something new, they put in a final boss anyways), some of your crew is dead or MIA thanks to not having enough readiness, your out of medi-gel, and your at the crucible controls with only Tali by your side. As your powering up the crucible and preparing it to fire so that you can put an end to the reapers once and for all, Tali puts herself up to a wall and slides down, her injuries sucking the life out of her. You notice that she needs medical attention or else she'll die, but you can't step away from the controls without risking a misfire and causing something bad to happen in addition to destroying the reapers. You need to make a decision, and it won't be easy because your galactic readiness isn't high enough at the time. Would you save Tali at the cost of one of these fallowing consequences:
- The Geth, as well as EDI and other forms of synthetic life, were permanently destroyed. No way to restore them from back-ups.
- Earth was completely destroyed, as in blown up with chunks of earth spewed all around the area.
- Tali insisted that you remain at the controls.
- The mass relay in the local solar system was destroyed?
- A few mass relays in the galaxy were destroyed?
- All of the mass relays were destroyed?
- Shepard would die in the process of saving Tali because when the crucible fires, his implants will fail due to a time-sensitive process on the crucible controls?
- Some of the fleets would be destroyed because they got in the way?
- Most, if not all of the quarian fleet would be destroyed because they got in the way?
- Genocide would be commited because the last of a species fleet would be destroyed, leaving no more of that species? (Rachni, Batarian, or any other 'endangered' species)
- Tali's suit functions will fail, with Shepard's implants resorting to back-up reserves that also will eventually fail. Your not sure if help will arrive on time to save you both.
- Every ship in the local solar system, as well as the mass relay, are disabled by a MASSIVE energy surge that has similar effects to an EMP, that in turn, lead to other disasterous consequences.
- The sun goes supernova that starts by a accidental chain reaction from some hidden dark energy inside. Your not sure if the vessel that houses you and Tali will survive the supernova.
- All of your crew that went MIA dies on you because the backwash from imperfect timing of the controls causes your crew members to disintegrate into nothing; only their dog tags and dust remain.
- The beam fails to fire and you need to wait 5 minutes to try again, during this time the reaper force could try to counterattack and prevent the crucible from working.
- A friendly nearby crusier gets sucked into the beam and while it broke free from the gravitational pull, doesn't control itself in time to crash into the vessel your on, potentally causing your and Tali's death, as well as some of your crewmembers.
- Any suns that had dark energy into them supernova when it passes into the Mass Relays, potentally wiping out lots and lots of life as well as planets.
