I have a question. Since Tali was 22 when she began her pilgrimage, does this mean Quarians take bit longer to reach adulthood then humans? It would make sense, as their aging patterns would not be exactly the same as humans despite being more-or-less comparable.

Quite possible. A very long lifespan for your quarian girlfriend is an excellent bonus.

Woohoo!

I watched that, and then realized how awesome it would be if the normandy crashed on a fantasy world, and the tech failed, and then we rode a dragon into an epic battle against legions of monsters.

And to answer the million questions about how that would work: normal magic.  I'm sure we can find an elchemist or cleric awesome enough to fix tali's health problems. Posted Image

I think Quarians are meant to live about as long as Humans. In the US you can't drink until 21, so having a society even like our own that isn't willing to send their young out into the big wide universe alone to find something useful for the fleet until around that age isn't strange at all. I think they chose 22 just so it wasn't 21 (being an important age on Earth for some cultures). No point sending your kids out until their ready. It's not like your just asking them to go get a job, your asking them to risk their lives and to bring back something of value for the fleet with no real resources to do that but their own wits and skills.

Remember this isn't some fun little cultural tradition signifying adulthood it's a very serious need driven experience that is about the survival of the species as a whole. If it was Humanity in that situation I would expect the age to be 21. So I don't think it indicates they mature later then Humans. It just means they aren't as irresponsible as some Earth cultures that let their kids sign up for the Army prior to 21 and things like that.

O.o

Why would I want that? I like tech. Fantasy is fine and all, but I love me some tech.

That makes alot of sense. I am sure that is the reasoning for her age for her pilgrimmage.

My guess is about the same if a bit longer than a normal human's... shepard is partly synthetic... may outlive tali...:crying:

I doubt it. They made him tougher, but probably not longer lasting. I don't think anti-aging drugs are around. If they are, then Tali would probably get the dextro-version anyway so it's all good.

I feel like Cerberus' upgrades are probably going to extend Shepard's longevity, and from what I understand humans during the 23rd century already have the ability to live well past 100 with all the advances in medicine and what not. Of course with the cooperation of the Geth who knows how long Quarians will start living too.

Doubtful.  I think they just made him tougher.  But for Shepards who picked "control" and became a Reaper, Tali may have bigger problems in her future.  :(  (Luckily my Shepard didn't)

We acknowledge with a simple "We see what you did there".

If we recall, the Lazarus Project had to reconstruct Shepard Commander's central nervous system (back bone) in order for him to remain stable.  We can only determine that they might have used synthetics to "reconstruct" not only his backbone, but maybe his brain stem (another key part of the CN system) as well.  We can maybe even infer the medulla oblongata was damaged.

It is still Shepard-Commander, albeit he just survives sollely because of synthetic reconstruction.

I don't post here often, but here's a question:

If Tali were to own a car from...well, now. What car would it be? It can be anything that exists in present day.

I was thinking something small, light and fast. A Lotus, mabye. But I don't think that matches her for some reason.

Yeah Shepard was a rotting corpse, synthetics brough him back to life. It doesn't stop telomere shortening though, which is ultimately the cause of aging.

Not sure I'd say rotting. Liara was keeping him pretty well preserved, and I assume he was frozen as well, since the planet the Normady crashed on was covered in ice.

On a cheerier note, I love that pic of Shepard lifting Tali. I can just imagine a few seconds later...
Tali- "Oh, uh, hi Auntie Ran. How long have you been standing there?"

Well the synthetic parts could very well lead to Shepard living longer. Organs repaired and augmented by cybernetics would last longer then their normal counterparts. Much of Shepard had to be organically reconstructed from scratch (cloned organ replacement and such) which would likely be in better shape then the origonals. Also it is likely that nono-machines were used to help celular regeneration, and if still present would likely slow the effects of ageing.

Anyhow, Shepard and Tali are lucky as it is; advances in medicine and gene therapy have increased the life expectency of humans by 50%. Most people live to be between 100-150 with people in their 50s now being physically closer to someone in their 30s. So they both have plenty of time left :D

I'm bad with cars. However, I would have to say a Mustang.
Less personality based, more energy and classyness based. B)

I have come up with three songs that in my opinion match the relationship between Tali and Shepard...

Florence and The Machine- Blinding
Skillet- Awake and Alive
Muse- Unintended

Nah. Tali will live a long happy life and then as age takes her upload herself into the citadel and they will spend their lives together in sweet, binary bliss. Two minds can control the reapers better than one.

Something similar to the speed racer car where she has enhanced and added features that boggle the mind and give her an edge over everything from dirt roads to Geth Armatures.

Well, with Control, there are two potential options:
1) Shepard loses sense of self from the quantum change from his (entirely preserved post-SR1 crash, check ME2 - "brain dead" in this case just means not working) brain to the Citadel - perhaps continues cycle some day - tragedy for all involved.

2) Enhanced tech allows Shepard (and any future occupants) to fully keep their sense of selves, allowing for an EDI style robot body, except with a better organic overlay. (after all, her system has completely adapted) - resulting in life unchanged, people still on that Citadel, tech for Joker to use as well, staying in touch with the Milky Way's life, using Harbinger as a personal errand boy to fetch flowers for dat quarian... Oh, and binary bliss, whenever she feels like it.

...best ending is 98% likely to be Shep Lives Destroy, though.

Yay! Almost done with the next chapter of Two Years Later. This one is going to be a little Shepard heavy. He is the secondary main character after all.
