btw I remember thinking like 2 years ago: oh man tali's romance was awesome! in 3 when they show her face I don't care how alien she looks mandibles spines doesn't matter, as long as they don't just make her a human that would be so lame.

I'm fine with the concept that BioWare chose for her face, but the photoshop was appalling.

If they rendered that into the game engine (with the fixed hands obviously) i'd be perfectly happy with it.

Remember how my headcanon quarian face is eerily similar to kerrigan, queen of blades?

Well, she's quarian now.

This is one bad. Couldn't get color right and she doesn't have real eyebrows to fiddle with...

I think in the in game picture they wanted to imply she had purple skin or something but instead of tinting it a different color they just put a purple/gray filter over the whole picture.

Unless everything on rannoch is purple, they used a camera from the 60s to take the stupid picture. It looks like it was washed out with purple watercolor.

It's pretty simple why they wouldn't have put much tender, love, and care into it. The fact is even if they had slaved over her face for weeks, delicately tending to every nook and cranny, they would have likely pissed off just as many players. Actually, the fact fans are relatively indifferent to the whole thing other than a passing "What the hell?" is a victory for them. They were able to get through that particular problem with little relative controversy. Then again, the ending pretty much overshadowed everything.

I don't particularly mind their choice. I found it to be lazy and choppy but I didn't mind it. I would have preferred they choose something with a different pose though at the very least. An in game render would have been great but rendering the entire face for one photo?

I think most people can agree it's one of those things that will come up as "what if" a lot but it won't bother many in the long run.

It's especially painful to see this since to bioware's credit the game itself is amazing. Such fantastic gameplay and polish over the majority of the game. Then it's marred by small plot holes (barring the ending), some glitches, then tali's great "reveal". Kind of like a red kool-aid stain on perfectly clean white sheets, very noticeable.

unfortunately these other issues are grossly overshadowed by ME3's primary fault: the ending. but enough of that this thread is about tali!

if they go with their current design but manage to tweak it a bit and put an in game model in, I'd be happy with this. Human-ish, but different enough to tell them apart easily.

NEW SITUATION:

You are coming back to the captains quarters of the normandy... you open the door...

You walk down the steps before tali tackles you from behind... landing on the bed...

What is shepard's first line next?

Well, come on. We should have all been prepared for the neglect of story, character, and plot when they always pushed the gameplay improvements. Some designers can polish area's of their gameplay while maintaining the original aspects that made it great. Bioware has never been one of them. They tend to be able to accel in a portion of their product that people fall in love with. It used to be characters that drew people in. I never expected it to degrade this far though.

I'll be curious to see if they can make their gameplay draw people in or if they'll try to cut back to their original focus on characters.

when I first heard about multiplayer in ME3 I was like "this better not damage the singleplayer because that's the only reason to even have a mass effect game, single player RPG what it's always been".

Oh boy it not only damaged it, it's REQUIRED to get the "best" ending (I use the term extremely loosely). where did bioware go wrong. they went wrong when EA bought them out. I wish they could have just been like "no bioware isn't for sale, especially to you EA".

So tue. Never understood why we had to have the MP horde mode missions in the SP campaign that serve absolutely no purpose when they could of put in missions dealing with shepards history or just something more then the generic go get the reaper tech hurr durr.

The photo quality in my game never looked as bad on the right. Makes me keep wondering if this example always shown around is from an older PC with low video quality settings or what?

It's a deliberate misrepresentation made by people who are completely obsessed with blaming EA, when it wasn't their fault. It's almost as if they have something to gain by diverting attention from the fact that it was Casey and Mac who did it. (yeah, read the last page, got genuinely angry at the complete bull being thrown around)
These same people tend to rag on the multiplayer, improved cover mechanics and gameplay, removal of illusion of choice, and many other things that made the game great.

Yes, there were plot holes. There were also plot holes in the second game. Even a few in the first, most likely.
Yes, some of the auto dialog was annoying. But it's better than having three choices that do the same goddamned thing.
Yes, the ending was bad. But Bioware and EA have, with the help of the fans, cowtowed Casey and Mac and made them open it up to peer reviewing, the way the rest of the game was.
Yes, you need multiplayer/datapad/Infiltrator to get the best ending. This should have been an advertised feature. Shepard should not, not, NOT, be able to do it alone.
Yes, there are glitches. Bethedsda are way worse about that.
Yes, Tali's face is kinda lazy. But it's not a stock photo, it's Miss England 2005.
Yes, some greivances are legitimate. But you would do well to learn the facts before making an argument, so your greivances get listened to, rather than just sounding stupid.

Same.

As someone who felt Tali was a friend to Shepard everyone should have seen her face on Rannoch. I would have teared up if she had removed her mask and looked at my Shepard with a smile. What a lost moment.

And then for those who romanced her ... they could have gotten moments like Ash, Liara, Kaidan before the Cerberus push. Oh, well.

They lost out on many dramatic moments, it's true. But they already had plenty. For everything the writing team* did wrong, they got three things right. Sometimes four.

But not seeing her face is a (probably undeserved) mercy for some...
Same with the generic "nightmares"

*obviously, the usage of the word "team" excludes Priority: Earth and the ending, as two people do not a team make

As someone who has not replayed ME3, I think that Patrick, Sylvia, the writing team as a whole as well as the VO's and the director did an amazing job. Overall the game was great, I just haven't replayed it for reasons that I'm done dwelling on.

I just remembered how Tali talked about smelling a flower and I was really hoping that would be how we saw her face ... then as we stood on Rannoch ... I got a lump in my throat. To stand on that planet with Shepard's friend and when the mask came off my heart stopped. I was really hoping but no enchilada.

At least Shepard and Tali stood on her homeworld together. Beggars can't be choosers. Posted Image

Shepard's line is "Leave the sneaking around to me, sweetheart."
because he span 180 degrees, caught her mid-pounce, and then hurled her to the bed and pounced her instead. Ah, the luxuries of radar and tactical pause.

Isn't Tali just a kid in ME1? Posted Image Guess we all have our reasons.
Anyway, out of "10" how would you rate Tali in ME1, ME2 and ME3? That's what I wanted to ask. Posted Image

tali is 21/22 in ME1. I'd give tali a 100/10 throughout the series.
My headcanon: sleeping with tali after the battle of the citadel. Posted Image

I love hearing people's headcanons.
So what motivated your Shepard into sleeping with Tali when it could possibly endanger her life at such a young age? What did he see in Tali... and please guys don't say "hips" I know how you work. Posted Image

Why would it endanger her life? It wasn't a euphamism. Posted Image

Well, first I saw the hips, backlit by an explosion, then I saw the suit, then I saw dem eyes and was trapped. From then on, it was all about the talimance. Explore ALL the dialogue options!

Didn't Shepard ask if she could die in ME2 if they were together? It's a big risk at first, and Tali is young. Wouldn't it be more caring/loving of Shepard just to cuddle with her instead doing the deadly sexy? Posted Image

So there’s no other reason but physical attraction? Or the cuteness of her accent? Posted Image

Hell no. I love Tali because she is awesome in every way. She's hot, her tech powers are awesome, she doesn't go down every other second in the first mass effect (unlike my Garrus), she's loyal, she's hot, she's hot, she's hot etc.

I also dont recall her ever being able to live outsider her suit. she mentions that the geth might be able to make them adapt faster so they can live on rannoch but thats it there.

Maybe the geth can also replicate other worldly diseases so that soon the quarians have the best immune system in the galaxy. Just make sure that its weak enough that it doesn't kill.
