Trying to write a fan-fic that spans from ME 1 to ME 3, and judging by the outline I have for it, it might take a few months. Might have to complete the trilogy a third time to get the context/conversations I need, but otherwise I'll be trying to balance schoolwork and writing. I'll let you guys know if I have anything.

Just recieved my issue of ME Homeworlds #2. I can only advice you to NOT buy it.
The art is, as you all know, terrible. The story is even worse. Its illogical, contains wrong facts, for example the Quarian blood, its too many content and places on just a few pages. It feels rushed. You get to read names Tali never mentioned before. Its horrible.
When it comes to her pilgrimage and how she got hands on the geth-data, I'll stick to the Fanfic by DementedAssassin on DA, which is the best fanfic I've read so far. Its far mroe realistic and better written then this piece of s*** what they call a ME comic.
BW and Dark Horse: This is really not what our favorite character deserves.
Just looking at the preview made me not want to buy it. Seriously, it's that bad. Why did they mess it up so bad!? I'll just stick to reading other's FF and art instead of this. I swear Revan could make a much more appealing comic book focusing on Tali than this, even without color. I love Tali'Zorah Nar Rayya Vas Normandy, but the artists for Dark Horse just made her bad. It would make Tali cry.

Ignoring the poo photoshop, even if they mapped her face (a face that wasn't the shooop) onto her character my expectations would still be crushed. To many great renditions i've seen in this thread to have one that consolidates them all without ruining their individual merits.

I've been noticing this double standard ever since people started making threads about Tali being "too human."
Let's get a few things straight: Tali being essentially a human is one's opinion, not fact. It's an opinion that is based on one's own set of criteria on what it means for a humanoid organism to be "alien". It's subjective, and most certainly depends on personal preferences. You cannot deny that one's headcanon of Tali is shaped on said preferences; this is much more complicated than simply liking or disliking "aliens."
So, here's my opinion about all this.
If you look at the photo and conclude that Tali is nothing but a human with white eyes and "sharpie markings" on her body, this is an opinion based on your own perception. I find this perception to be distorted.
Tali's final design is a combination of several priliminary face designs that can be seen in the Mass Effect concept art. She has a human face for a foundation, an "omega" shaped birthmark on her forehead, white irises with gray sclera, and additional birthmarks on her neck and chest (or possible cybernetic augmentation). Her eyes are set wide apart and angled, and she has a unique nose that is not characteristic of humans. Then, of course, we have her eloganted earlobes. As my criteria for what makes a human "human" are obviously different, I cannot conclude that Tali's design is as simple as you describe.
Would I say that Tali looks similar to a human? Yes, and I expected this. However, to argue that Tali looks "too human," and needs a better face that is more "alien"... I'm noticing contradictions.
Tali's features: unique eye and nose structure, ears, long neck, swept-back shoulders, narrow waist, curved shins, less digits, etc. You cannot dismiss these features in your claim that Tali is essentially a human while simultaneously posting an image of a human female face with glowing eyes, interesting complexion, and tendrils for hair as your headcanon. Unless there is more to your headcanon that you haven't already told us (what was it again, silver irises, blue sclera, toned body on the level of a fitness model, and sharp incisors), I fail to see how Kerrigan Tali is a significant improvement over what we have.
Same goes for Tali in that little "Tali Deserves a Better Face" signature. Once again, human female face for a foundation, white irises and sclera, cybernetic augmentation on cheeks, and purple skin. So if Tali needs a better face because she's "too human," how are these designs any better?
No, Tali does not need a better face in my opinion. What Miss vas Normandy could use is a 3D render, in-game, of the face she already has. Good can come from that design if you allow yourself to imagine it from an entirely new, positive perspective. Certainly not a perspective of deception and laziness that one tends to associate with the photoshop.
As for Tali needing to be more alien. Well, again, back to those criteria. I find the subtleties in the canon design (particularly the nose and eye structure) to be sufficiently alien and in-tune with what we already know of Tali. Tali doesn't need frills, ridges, flanges, flaps, starfishes, Ross Perot ears, etc. to be "more alien." A design of Tali with more of these features does not necessarily make it "better." I've noticed plenty of artists that tend to go overboard with these features in reaction to the photo, ultimately producing an alien that is wearing Tali's suit, and not producing Tali. What the real challenge would be is not to mindlessly add such features just for the sake of doing so. The challenge would be add features that are not characteristic of humans with subtlety, while simultaneously adhering to Tali's essense. I can think of several artists (Revan, in particular) that can do just that.
Not like anyone read this far anyway, but I felt the need to get some things off my chest.
tl;dr: I respect your opinion if you want to say that Tali is "too human," and claim that her face needs a redesign. However, don't contradict yourselves by stating this opinion while supporting the use of another Tali which is just as human as the original. Unless you just happen dislike anything that resembles canon Tali, perhaps you guys need to rethink what you truly want.
Personally, I don't think Tali needs a new face. While I'm disappointed in the poor depiction of her anatomy in the photoshop, I'm happy with the canon design and would rather see that face on a 3D model in-game. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this, as my criteria for what constitutes a human and alien are different from yours. I don't see the need in adding "alien" features to Tali with no thought or purpose other than to fulfill some requirement to make Tali different from what we have, especially when the final product is no longer a representation of Tali. Again, all in my opinion.
Good day.
That was impressive "Ace" you pull out. Very much agree with you, i lack social skills to write anything like this even if i want
Awesome, perfect description of how i see tali... ohhhhh Tali....

“Embrace Perfection”
The trees seemed to be moving, yet there was no breeze. Their large trunks and bodies were slowly shifting and mending towards his general direction. It feels as if the pulse from his heart is synchronized with every small shift the trees made. This place felt very cold and lonely as usual.
“Your efforts are meaningless Shepard.”
Neil swung his head behind him, and there was the boy that tormented his soul for the past several months. The boy didn’t laugh, cry, or run when Shepard spotted him this time. His or its expression looked passive and emotionless. They exchanged looks for what seemed like an eternity. Neil took a small step forward and asked “What do you want from me?” He took another small step forward the boy. It stood motionless and its stare continued to pierce right through Shepard’s soul. “I stopped the threat, why are you still following me?”
“Your insubordination only delays the inevitable.”
Neil took another step towards the entity. All of a sudden there was a great tremble in the forest, the entity caught fire. Though this time instead of turning into ashes, its piercing irises rolled back into its head only revealing the whites of its eyes. An army of the oily shadows appeared behind him. For some reason this made him feel scared. Though what an odd feeling, he always did feel scared but his courage outweighed his cowardice. It felt like sheer terror consumed his essence. In a now panicked state, he turned away and fled from the boy. Periodically the sound of the familiar reaper horns would make the ground tremble. Whenever he looked behind him he would see the boy and the shadows following him, setting aflame to everything they touch. After a short while of running, he noticed a shadow that looked like Tali standing straight ahead of him. Its presence felt so protecting and glorious, his only natural reaction was to sprint towards it. When he reached his arm out for his light, it suddenly went aflame slowly turning into ash. All Shepard could do was watch in terror as the only safe guard to this forest burned to a cinder. He looked up to see a giant ball of red light along with another earth trembling noise of the reaper.
“You have already lost.”
The red light blasted the surface of the forest, blinding shepard with the all too familiar white light.
Again sorry about the format. It's bsn screwing it up. Also like some people already pointed out in another thread I do have some several errors that I need to work out. I did write this at like 2 in the morning so, yeah.

Coming from a Krogan that means a lot especially how "A finger deep to sever your (human) spine"
All this considered, HOW resilient are they physically? If they get a bullet wound, is infection the only issue? When Tali pounces Shepard, does he playfully resist or is it like wrestling a Krogan?
Also,

Damn, that answers the question...

Because - whilst you don't see it in-game due to the nature of the Unreal 3 engine, quarians are supposed to be smaller and weaker than humans.

Really? Although I like the concept of a species bulit like trucks taken down to near frailty because of their weak immune systems. Is this in the codex or in the books?

Ascention? I think that's the one with the quarian mask on the front.
I'm also pretty sure if quarians were built like trucks, their multiplayer Fitness talent would reflect that somehow, like the krogan version.

Even though they aren't shorter in game. But that doesn't tell us if they have a more durable epidermis, which is likely because they evolved on a mostly desert world, if their muscle density is more or less, or much of anything really. It's just size. And not even a krogan can kick as hard as a quarian. Dem legs have an unfair mechanical advantage.
