Me: Is there a realm of programming so far above my imagination as to be beyond comprehension?
Stranger: Can machines imagine?
Me: Does this unit have...a soul?
Stranger: Yes, Legión, of course.
Me: I know Creator Zorah...and thank you.

Yeah I'm thinking a Spacer/Sole Survivor currently. Thanks.
Would be nice if there was a little pretense to a possible relationship in ME1, but I guess I will just struggle through it for ME2.
Spacer background also gets you some extra dialogue with Tali on Noveria in ME1 and if you hold off and bring her to Javik's recruit mission in ME3 on Edem Prime, there is also extra dialogue there.
Also it is kind of cool to have Shepard's Mom around. My two preferred backgrounds are earthborn/survivor and spacer/survivor and main canon playthrough had no one romanced in ME1.

To add on to what you said - as far as classes for Shepard goes, even though my male Shep was a vanguard, I always thought having Shepard as an infiltrator (combat/tech) would be the best choice. Having tech skills means he's a soldier, yet shares something in common with Tali, making the relationship deeper.Apathy1989 wrote...
Perhaps 'best' was the wrong word. What 'provides the most interesting dynamic' for a relationship between Tali and Shepard.
My thoughts were
Earthborn - Tough life that Tali brings some happiness to. Harshness of living on Earth has left little love for humanity.
Spacer - Similar background of living on ships and a military family. Might be too similar, although would be interesting to speculate what Shepards mother would think of Tali.
Colonist - Batarian raid might have made shepard a bit of a xenophobe. I roleplay my colonists as batarian haters until Arrival, where its too many to not warn the colony.
Sole Survivor - Talis compassion would go out to Shepard.
War Hero - Tali would have more reason to 'worship' shepard since he had done the seemingly impossible.
Ruthless - I think Tali would probably be nervous around this kind of Shepard.

Well of course she cares what's on the outside! It's just a lot less important than the inside.
Hot.

So I have a question. Say someone was a part of something really bad and Shepard, either for himself or someone else, wanted revenge on this someone. Shepard has his or her gun to this someones head and is about to pull the trigger. Would Tali try to stop Shepard from pulling the trigger or would she allow it?
If it's very bad... she would probably help. Context however is lacking so a definitive answer is iffy at best.
Let me rephrase the first part of the question. Say that someone was the one who led the terrible thing like...what the rogue Cerberus faction did to Jack to get her biotic power. They didn't necessarily do it to her but say was the reason it was there to begin with.
It would depend on what the person had to say. If they were remoursful and had been trying to make ammends, I believe Tali would say something like: "Shepard, we can't do this. Not like this." while lowering his arm.
If it was someone who was clearly indifferent to the suffering then I'm pretty sure Tali would offer him her shotgun.
She doesn't seem the type opposed to taking someone out who deserves it or who is purposely doing bad things. But for someone who is doing good, even if they had done bad? I think she'd try to stop it.

I also like to think that with the colonist background Shepard can help/teach Tali about crops/farming or whatever. Since she seems clueless about it. XP

My previous Tali runthrough I was a sentinel, but this time I was thinking of going Vanguard. Missing out on the tech similarity, but I think shotguns and biotics will synergise well with Tali and allow me to always have her around.
Thinking my squad will be:
ME1 - Vanguard shep, Tali, Wrex
ME2 - Vanguard shep, Tali, Jack (biotic combos)
ME3 - Vanguard shep, Tali, Liara?

I went with Spacer and Ruthless. Spacer like Taliand Ruthless because I wanted to have some character development myself (I slowly mellowed over the series).

My canon Talimancing Shepard is this too, mainly for the many parallels I see: good opportunities for mutual understanding and bonding... Curious thing, since he was also my very first Shepard, I didn't know of the similarities that would have popped up back then (he*k, I didn't even know who Tali was back then...)Tom80 wrote...
My Shepard is Spacer/War Hero, because I wanted the Paragon points and a mother to show Tali to..........even if that never happens.....
Also the scene I loved the most is giving the Spacer Renegade answer to Anoleis ("You have a problem with Spacers?") with Tali in the Party...
It's one of the things that moved me towards the Talimance, I think (noticing the points of contact)... And also why I can't bring myself to actually hate Anoleis, even if he is a ******...
