I'm in the process of reading Calinstel's "To Survive" series. Very surprised at how far the author developed 'everything Quarian', including the definition of bosh'tet


The only thing that really gets in the way of reading is constant use of present tense. Not something I particularly enjoy but no one is perfect.

If bioware took that story and made it reprasentative of quarian culture I would be very happy.  Also, I really hope he hasn't dropped the story.  He left terminus off with a huge cliffhanger.

I do wonder to what extent the Mass Effect writing team reads fanfic? I mean there is plenty of garbage out there (sorry fanfic authors, I had to say it), but there are plenty of roses in the junkyard to be had.

I mean honestly, I feel like I've already accepted bits of fanfic Quarian culture as canon in my mind, but I suppose that ME3 and (hopefully) subsequent DLC's will clear up a lot of things.

Indeed. Have you ever read reckoning? Its good but one of the few problems I have with it, is that it is meant to be taken seriously, as it is very dark, but because its not canon, its a little hard for me to take it that seriously.

For those who dont know, it is to give Daro Xen a backstory. Again, it is very good, but because it isnt canon, it dosnt really change my views of Xen. (not that I dislike Xen).

'Course, an exiled Tali is much more reasonable to *not* have on the Normandy than, say, that human that b!tched you out and ran away for many months when they found out their dear old friend was alive.

Yeah, I just hope that either Author is taking long break/that some other RL issues prevent from wrting or that this disappearence is just because he had started to wrote a new sequel.

Bad sadly it just might be that the story is abandoned.
