And about Shepard dying: the author is certainly foreshadowing something, dunno what it is though. For all we know, it could be everyone except Shepard dying at the end. After that dream with husk Anderson, Garrus and Tali I wouldn't be surprised.

I am not so sure yet. He has already changed a few things in the beginning. There was no child on Earth for Shepard to watch die and he was taken out of the nightmares. Grunt being on Tuchanka for another example.  Perhaps, he will be back on the Normandy like Kasumi is. This would also mean the Rachni mission would be written differently already. I get the feeling he would want to do something satisfactory for himself and the readers.

Would be an unbelievable shame for the fic to go the same route as the game as being amazing for 95% of the read, only to have the final chapter(s) fall flat on its face like the game did.

This new chapter's footnote also mentions how he will start taking liberties with the story. I imagine the next chapter could move into the Rannoch arch possibly, but this will depend if/how he wants to handle the Cerberus coup on the Citadel since that's what happens next in the game's storyline.

Just read that chapter now. It was fantastic! I was genuinly sitting on the edge of my seat thinking "he's not going to betray Wrex, surely???" Was relieved when he didn't, the writer sure knows how to create tension.

And i'm really liking the liberties he's taken with the story so far, imho it's significantly better then what we got in ME3. I mean, Shepard executing Wreav?? What I would have given to see that happen in game! And the banter between Garrus and Kasumi is golden.

Here's hoping the Rannoch stuff with Tali will start in the next chapter or two. And if he decides to include the Citadel coup with Kai "RECHARINGLOLZ" Leng, I seriously hope it's as significantly altered as some of the other missions are. Because it was awful.

Pretty much how I'm going into this as well, man.... 

All I want at this point is that if you manage to get the "best" ending, this is, the best version of the Destroy ending where Shepard is shown alive.... let him reunite with Tali and have their house on Rannoch.
That's all I f***ing want, at this point.

If Gabe Newell didn't take up half the picture, and if the picture was bigger...

Oh yeah, well aware and I will use it to view outcomes that I could never bring myself to do (like watching Shep kill Mordin and Tali's reverse swan dive). That doesn't make the synthesis ending any less fail though.
