Ever since that hyper-detailed huge-res pic (you know which one) had that error, everyone seems to put it in on "Tali Unmasked" pictures.

Yeah, I really don't understand why so many of these fan-arts have only the visor removed. The chin-part comes off with it.

I’d say it’s because of the visor, because people look at her face through a purple tint, that’s the colour the brain associates with her.

The other thing being that you’re only aloud to look at it close up for a couple of seconds in game. I think Bioware knew how bad it was and didn’t want us getting a good look at it.

Not really sure, to be honest. It's possible, but the original texture extracted from the game files indicates a light skin tone with a lavender tint. Pulled straight from the game, unmodified:



The ingame lighting makes it *all* look rather desaturated and purple though.

It really does look better in the ingame lighting.

So that shoulder is either lilac or sunburnt.. or like I said really bad quailty, then her fingers are white/grey...

That shoulder is the only part that looks like it could be remotely lilac, the rest is either grey or blurry or w/e. Espically around the eyes, clearly a "white" skin tone... so inconsistent..

If we look at the actual picture:



We can see that her skin is not the color of violet/lilac - that is the result of the shadows on her face and skin from being turned away from the direction of the sun (shadows in nature are never true black, they tend to skew towards the blue spectrum due to the color of the sky).

My best guess is they saw every other fanart of her went in the lilac/lavender/purple direction, and decided to do that themselves.

^^ That's the first time i've seen the "canon" Tali picture in ages. Heh.

No matter how much I try to ignore it, that "hand" is just screaming out at me. Like Miranda's teeth. And Liara's eyebrows. It just ruins the whole image for me.

It's awful. Even if we don't get a proper reveal, I sure hope they managed to fix that at the very least.

It's a pity...
I kind of did like the touches that quarians (or at least Tali herself) had a tiny button nose, and strange, naturally red fingernails. You know, like her bloodstream was actively flowing through them. And the lips weren't getting that treatment like they do with us. And the eyes.

But they had to hide the good parts. Meh, they're prolly just teasing. But that's fine by me, if true. Only if true.

I remember when people got the game early back in march someone said Tali and the quarians were like really dark almost black. They compared it to a "drow" I think it was called i'm not entirely sure. But yeah I don't mind the purple but sometimes its a little too purple where it starts hurting my eyes lol.

I also get irked a bit when the mouth piece is still on and the visor is not heh.

So I was just watching some Mass Effect 3 videos and I saw the event that shall not be named on any Tali thread. It motivated me to never allow it to happen on any of my playthroughs...NEVER EVER!! You wasted money putting that part in the game with me Bioware!!!

Ummmm... this Would be true, but it is not present in the origonal stock photo:sick:.  Therefore, bioware added the lilac, tali is a light violet.

That's what I imagined, back in ME1.  I still believe purple is a silly and unlikely skin color for quarians.

Yeah my headcanon is grey, some glow of cybernetics below the skin. I'm cool with no ears, or elven ears, but I really like hair.
