I think things are gonna suck for DLC from this point on, as it may not be free.  But if it's good, well...

Clearly, then - she's not getting love as BioWare's pet, she's getting love as the number one fan favourite.

That guy should have structured the poll better. It's more of a "my fav character" poll as opposed to a "what LI's deserve the most treatment" poll.


Though if I said that I didn't vote for Tali, i'd be lying lol.

You know, I have to wonder: In the destroy ending, can the geth be fixed? Or are they wiped out permanently along with EDI? I thought they were repairable...if not, then it'll make Tali really sad. And Shepard, too. :-(

I am thinking the quarians can rebuild them with relative ease. I mean, they have Daro'Xen and blueprints. I was also thinking that they could get those suits off quickly without the geth's help. Following the geth's lead with uploading and updating their immune system was an idea the quarians didn't think of. They are a smart race and will continue to modify their immune systems using the same technique the geth had implemented.
This is all speculation, obviously...

Species do not have souls. Individuals do. (As do hive minds who operate in such a way to basically be one individual) The species can be revived, and individuals will end up ensouled separately. You won't be rebuilding a hypothetical geth called Floyd, but you will be making new geth.

The quarian people, salarians, humans, all sorts have great AI technicians (Shepard himself being pretty much the best one, if an Engineer or Infiltrator in peacetime putting his mind to just this task - I mean, Tali's supposed to be one of the best machinists of a machinist species, and Shepard's Sabotage makes her's look like she's banging pillows together, especially on the subject of cooldowns), such as Xen, Gavin Archer (who will also be absolutely desperate to atone), Tali, and many other people who I'm sure exist but aren't really named.

Just posted the third chapter of my post ME3 fic. There is more Shepard/Tali content in this one (though the plot-thread revolving around them won't truly start for a few more chapters). Anyone, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

After watching that scene in the EC, good God...I don't see how I could pick anything BUT "destroy."  It's the only way Shepard can come back to Tali.    

I'm still miffed that Bioware couldn't bring themselves to give us a decent reunion scene.  It would have been so simple, but no, they wanted SPECULATIONZ!!!

I saw a discussion in another thread. It seems that the answer is 'no'.

AI in Mass Effect universe have a quantum blue box that holds their essence. Their memories can be transfered around, but the bluebox is what creates their personality. With the bluebox dead, EDI could be rebuilt but her personality would need to be reaquired over time. She would feel no connection to the people around her.

I imagine its the same for the Geth now that they had reaper code. Before, they were simple programs that exchanged data in networks to increase intelligence. Now they are individuals. I imagine the old-style Geth could be recreated. Geth never had much personality to begin with (except Legion, and even then not much).

Yes that is basically what I am saying. Of course new Geth can be made again, but they will need to steadily rebuild their VI processes to reach sentience as they had before.

Should they? I see little reason to.

The Geth caused more problems than they are worth. And in the end of my game they are just machines. They are not "alive" unless you choose synthesis. The game confirms this in the synthesis epilogue...

If you ask me, the Geth get way too many free passes for what they've done.  Granted I saved both in my playthrough, but I would choose the Quarians over them any day.

 So I made this tribute video to Tali and Shepard, and figured I'd share it with everybody on here! The music is "To Build a Home" and it incorporates scenes and dialogue from all three Mass Effect games, as well as the Extended Cut. Hope everybody enjoys it!

As a side note, I'm planning a series of these videos for each character, and I'd love to hear suggestions. :happy:

Tali and Shepard "I Have a Home"

I have to remake an entire playthrough so I can have a happy ending with Tali.

My Vanguard play-through just... there was no way I could not pick Synthesis, not with the choice he had made in the previous games. He fought TOOTH and NAIL to forge piece and co-operation wherever he could, and was a staunch supporter that life was sacred even if it it was Synthetic.

But he was just a grunt, just a soldier. Not some ruler. He wasn't going to lay control over all the reapers and pretend he was. He didn't know how Synthisis was going to work (it defied his layman understandings of science) but if it worked, then it left a bright future in his wake.

He was willing to give himself away to give the Galaxy that chance.

But that scene at the end with Tali and EDI, it choked me up. There's no way me as a player can leave it as it is.

I need to make a character just for Tali - not sure what class though...
