actually i have read your fic Calinstel, (good stuff btw) but i'm trying to avoid taking anyone else's writing ideas for my own, when i asked i meant anything from the codex maybe? or perhaps some dev talked about it once? i have no idea and thought maybe the groups here could lend a hand.
also, does anyone have an opinion on which kind of marriage Tali might prefer? quarian or human?

Hello fellow Tali fans! I haven’t posted much recently since the EC release (been busy
). So I thought I‘d remedy that, starting now.
My (brief) general thoughts on the EC: Well it really didn’t do a lot for me. It did vastly improve the endings but not really enough for my liking. There are still a lot of thing that are exactly the same and didn’t get “clarified”, and the things they did change despite being somewhat better, still don’t make much sense to me. However despite the fact that I still don’t like the endings, the goodbye scene with Tali (despite not making any sense) was very enjoyable and totally worth the download for this reason alone.
My main Shepard is a vanguard (I love bioticts) colonist/sole survivor. I tend to have any character I create have some sort of hard life that they are able to overcome, but for this case I imagine that colonist Shep can relate well to Tali’s loss of her parents, and the sole survivor background can also help him relate to her possible survivor guilt. That’s why I still like this background choice, because after all this time I still think that it gives my Shepard a better connection to Tali.
However I also think that you can still justify any background choice you want. War hero is the obvious hero choice that Tali would respect and admire, with spacer having a clear connection. Earthborn I think contrasts nicely with Tali, with Shepard having a homeworld but also a difficult life and no parents to speak of. Ruthless can also be an interesting choice. I’m currently doing a play through with a renagon Shep with this background and my reasoning is that he is above all dedicated and loyal (something Tali can relate to), and willing to do whatever it takes, but who is also deeply troubled and haunted by the people who he sent to their deaths. Someone who will slowly be changed by their encounter with a loving Quarian.

I'm thinking about changing it to earthborn. Moar tragedy, plus I don't think spacer Shepard would whine about Earth as much as he does in ME3 (belittling the aliens' own fates in the process). I figure an earthborn Shepard would have more of an attachment to Earth.Neverwinter_Knight77 wrote...

From the way the red beam acts and the way the Geth are designed, the red beam would have done much more damage to computers if it had completely killed them.

I always found it kind of wierd how despite ME having quite a few good looking LI's (Miranda, Liara, Ashely, ect), the most popular one is the Quarian in the body suit who's face you only see once in the entire series (and only in a photo, not in an actual cut scene).
I picked Tali too, so I guess I can't judge...

Id say we Talimancers are veeery dedicated to the topic so maybe we are more vocal than the others. But accourding to FB polls, Tali is also the whole fanbases second favorite character. (Garrus is first, whyever)

I'd say Liara is likely the most popular romance in ME, but she is nowhere near the most popular character. The amount of people that hate her is surely as large as the amount of people that romanced her.
Very few people hate Garrus though, and most love him. So it's really not a surprise that he topped that poll.

Thanks man! Yeah, I'm working on the happier version, the only problem is music. And while I'm at it (and I'm throwing this out to anyone) has anyone done any fan art of Shepard and Tali reuiniting? Maybe Shepard is taking down his name from the normandy's memorial or something? Preferably something with default Shepard?
What I'd like to do with it is maybe have that as a way of showing Shep and Tali reuiniting. In the EC, because you can't see Tali smile at the end, it kinda takes away some of the "Oh, she thinks Shepard's alive!" feeling. I thought maybe ending with some fan art might work better.

The problem is that so many other videos use Two Steps from Hell already, including a few that are waaaaaay more talented and popular than me (Bioware actually shared one of them on Facebook). The odds of me topping one of them with the same type of music is unlikely.
Not to say I won't use some type of instrumental for the 'happier' Tali vid, but I feel like it'd be white noise. Might have found one though. Something from Skillet (Don't say Goodbye)
