Well, looks like I've fallen behind on basically every ME fanfiction I used to follow, would you guys mind recommending any  Tali/Shep fanfics?
Possibly some longer adventurous ones, but I don't mind one-shots either. :innocent:

Tali's line, "I already have a home". What's it's meaning to you? To me, it meant that her home is on the Normandy, or wherever Shepard is- that's where she always ends up. But for some reason I'm second guessing myself.

Thoughts?

As somebody previously mentioned- if these questions had been posed to me long ago, I would have certainly sacrificed my Shepard to preserve the rest of the galaxy.

Then his relationship with Tali surfaced, and those last lines before she's pulled back into the Normandy...

Destroy. Has to be. Shepard must survive. And they must be reunited.

If I knew that this would be the ending we get, I would never have romanced Tali to begin with. Instead I would have had Shepard stay single and watch her romance with Garrus blossom, so when Shepard could not keep his promise to be by her side, he would know she was in good hands and found love elsewhere.

That's why my Shepard is a Paragon. Now I feel like a Douchegon, breaking her heart when she needed anything but that.

The way I look at it. When Tali told Shepard to come back to her, that was her giving him an objective and Gabriel Shepard refuses to leave tasks unfinished.

I am a little unnerved by the fact that both out Shepards are Gabriels.

The way I feel it, Shepard is her home, her beacon in the darkness, as is she for Shepard (us).

Indeed, I would gladly sacrifice if there was the need, but Tali asked me to come back to her and I can't let her down.

But I would choose destroy anyway, I have moral issues with the other two endings.

It's too bad that we couldn't take a squadmate or two with us to the beam. If bioware would have had way more time, I could see it happen. Sadly, they did not. Though it makes me wonder, with the current endings we have, would Tali prefer destroy, or would she refuse? I would happy to make whatever decision she wanted with her.

Interesting that your post makes me think of part of the scene from their night together in the Razor's Edge fic:

"A long time ago I heard Chief Williams quote you something from Earth's history. Even then when I couldn't admit what I was beginning to feel about you I still looked it up, read about your people, your literature. 'Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. Please, Shepard... don't deny me the chance to be more than a suit and a mask to you."

"You've never been a suit and a mask to me. But this is your decision... and if you think it's safe nothing would make me happier," he countered, pulling her to him and guiding her until they both sat on the edge of his bed. "Before that happens, though, there's something I need to say to you."

Even in the endings where Shepard chooses to sacrafice himself, pretty sure in the long run, she would have no regrets. Just gotta let time heal the wounds.

I don't know  but if she knows my  Shepard well enough, she would he'd never  put the burden of sacrifice on anyone. else.  She knew most likely deep down if any was going bare that cross it was going to him

but like he told  her one time.. "We all die at some point, best we do is pray that it's  for something or have achieved something.  What matters is not how we died... Its how we lived, thats our story and is the story we pass on."

So does Shepard. His story doesn't have to end yet. We don't need him Mass Effect 4 as a player character or squad mate, but why couldn't he be the next Admiral Anderson?

Damn right it doesn't. I'd say in my mind it is just the beginning for him and Tali. If bioware refuses to act on it, then I will. Which is why I am writing my story.
