Does anyone have any idea how a conversation between tali and Vega would go if you romancend Tali in ME2 and choose Vega in ME3?

Attempting to create this scenario in my head, just broke my brain. It would be like all your beliefs you have held true up to now could not be relied upon. A bit like, waking up and discovering that the entire universe you have experienced up to now has just been your own imagination. No-one and nothing else exists, and you are in fact God, but completely alone in a void of infinite dimensions. And the only reason why you imagined 'what you thought' was your life for the last x number of years, was to stop yourself going insane from the dispair of your predicament..

Either that, or Tali would be annoyed for a couple of minutes, but get over it and then go and chat up Garrus and find out why his callibrations are taking so bloody long.

Or another idea, it could be possible that homosexuality doesn't exist for Quarians, and is an unknown concept for Tali. It would be interesting to see how Shepard explains that scenario to her!

Nah it's yust Liara is really understanding abouth braking up with her and braking up with Tali would feel like kicking a puppy I expect a little more emotion

In all seriousness (obviously my previous post wasn't), indeed, I see where you are coming from. And it is an option that will need to be written in to ME3. But from the perspective of seeing the story between Shepard and Tali develop over many years, until it culminates at the end of ME2 with the trial and the unmasking scene in Shepards quarters. But then for Shepard to suddenly change personality where he decides he now likes big muscular younger men, the whole concept literally blows my mind.

I agree, it will be interesting to see how Bioware deals with this potential option, but I'm not sure if I will even try that option myself, or even believe the result.

They hit such an awesome look with ME2's Tali, it's just frightening to think they're going to try to improve upon it. Especially if you saw the concept art for an alternate suit.

She looked like some kind of freaky, white with gold & orange highlights Egyptian god. And something about her helmet either made her eyes look like they glowed yellow or gave a yellow glowing thing around her forehead. Either way, it spooked me a bit, far too ominous and... White-Reaper-ish for Tali's sweet self.

Interesting stat's! The way I read this, is that Tali's support is more diverse and not limited to a small number of people. For example, Miranda's thread has 537 posters with over 15,000 posts but half of them are written by 8 people. I think this is evidence that support for a character cannot be attributed to the 'number' of posts in a thread alone. It is in fact better to have low percentages for both  "??? percent of all posts posted by one person alone," and "??? percent of all posts posted by top 8 posters by postcount." statistics, as it illustrates more of the posters are involved in long term conversations and debates over the life of the thread.

I remember the concept art you are talking about. It did look weird, like some kind of Star Wars reject. Thankfully, they chose the other option which was used in ME2 and was much better. I did like Tali's alternative appearance pack DLC, although it wasn't 'quite' as good as her normal ME2 outfit. It will be interesting to see how she looks in ME3.

in other fan threads you can see there are some kinda overheated posters,
for example near twenty percent of ashley thread is only one person's talking, near thirty percent of 15K-post miranda thread is only three people talking...
so this thread needs more talkative type people imho

Well, seeing as those things happened during ME2, then shouldn't her appearance have changed then? Unless that's what her loyalty outfit was supposed to be...
Either way, I was happy with her ME2 appearance, and see no reason why it should change.

This. But if BW really need to change Tali's appearance, then they should give her combat armor, but keep her old ME2 appearance as her casual look, when you're on the Normandy (so, in a way like it was in ME1).

That way those people who wants her to have new suit can be happy. But at the same time also those who doesn't want to change her looks, can be happy too.

Yes, that's the one. The one on the left is much better. I did notice that Tali's legs look longer in this drawing, than they do in the game. Maybe its due to her standing on her toes.

Talking of toes and her 'three toed/finger' anatomy, I was watching a documentary on dinosaurs, and it mentioned the link between dinosaurs and birds, and the fact that birds have 'three fingers buried within their wings'. Noting that the dinosaurs were wiped out due to a meteor strike on this planet (which gave the natural selection advantage to mammals), I wonder what would have happened if the meteor strike did not happen! Considering this, I wondered if birds (and their three fingers/toes) would have dominated the planet, in place of mammals, and whether this is the story that was given to the Quarian (and Turian) races? I.e. Rannoch was similar to Earth, with similar species, but did not suffer the meteor strike (which removed birds), and so they became the dominant organisms?

Quarians are mammals and I prefer Rannoch to be dominated by mammals not birds. well, nowadays Quarian home world is dominated by machinery named the Geth..:(

Evolution on Earth isn't quite as simple as you make it seem, birds have a far greater species diversity than mammals with over 10,000 species compared to about 5700 mammal species. The meteor strike did not give instant mammal superiority either, just opened up a lot of niches that were previously closed off to them. These niches were not held by birds but by non-avian dinosaurs and other reptiles. Following the mass extinction, some birds evolved into apex predators with species such as Gastornis taking the job of top predator (similar species existed just until about the time when humans showed up in North America). Mammals at the time were stil very primitive with unspecialized teeth and small brains. The main reason that they became dominant is that the body form was far more adaptable than that of birds which had lost teeth and forearms in exchange for beaks and wings. It is far easier to lose a feature than it is to regain one that has been lost. Likewise lower oxygen levels in the air made it less possible for truely huge flying birds to evolve leading to the planet's current state.

Now as for Rannoch it is unlikely that the planet would have a direct copy of our own ecosystem especially considering that the planet lacks insect life. The very existance of birds on our planet is a result of many extinctions and coincidents which all came together to bring them up. There is nothing to say that dinosaurs or anything similar to them ever existed on Rannoch or that anything bird-like ever came to be there. Also we don't know anything about what sort of extinction events Rannoch had to deal with (but it is likely that they have been hit by meteors or other celestial objects at some time). The earth has undergone 5 mass extinctions (which were most likely caused by asteroids or meteors) and the moon was formed by a very large object smashing into earth. Mass extinctions are a catalyst for rapid evolution and most likely just as much a part of any other possible planet's history.

I did not intend to write an essay, don't know how this happened....

Love that drawing, really really nice. Makes me think of a scene shortly after returning to the Flotilla after ME1 Posted Image (Well, she looks happy, actually... Eh, she momentarily forgot that Shep & the SR1 are dead).

And that cosplay is quite well-done.

See, I don't have any problem with this look by itself (Though not my taste), but Tali is a mammal. Mammals don't have that carapace, AKA the ridging around her face. Her throat looks more like the skin of a fish under the scales, with the carapace down her back similar to that of an armoured lizard. More quills and claws, for me! Posted Image

Revision: Mammals have the odd bit of chitin, but not in that fashion, I should state.

Ah, yes... See where I got the "Egyptian God" thing from? Plus she has Cerberus colours on it. That would be REALLY wierd. Plus she'd look like Miranda (Immature bash incoming), BLEH.

For instance, ever since reading about the retractable claws in the Alliance series, and Kabuto the Python's mention of loving Tali's "Raptor legs" in his song "Tali", I've been picturing her third toe being one of those retractable, scythe-shaped gut-ripper type claws medium sized raptors had. Well, it's a fun idea, at least. Grrrrr. Posted Image

"Wild and primitive"? Posted Image Don't know what makes claws primitive, we have them. They ought to have a buildup of dead cells expressed in some way or another.

And let me revise that "Raptor claw" isn't a very mammalian description. Luckily, cat claws are very reminiscent of those scythe-toes, so there you go Posted Image

The Tali I see in my mind has her silver eyes, mainly long, slender quills (Patterned like a porcupines, hey, you can't get a reference from something you don't know), light violet skin(Because Tali and Purple are forever fused in my mind, now. Plus luminescent, silver eyes + violet skin = go great together), retractable finger-and-toe claws (With a larger one for her third toes), and... Uhh... Well, that's it. I imagined for ears something like the more attractive bat ears, which are almost similar to those of a cat in some of their shaping. Sort of pointed and back, but obviously mammalian and natural, none of that space elf crap. Not that Elves aren't awesome in their own realms of fiction Posted Image

Too human? Well, we know that her eyes, nose and surrounding face except for her mouth are all exactly human. So too late for any of that. And I should say that I imagine her with a nice set of fangs to go along with those claws. Shep's tough enough to stand up to some nibbling.

But this is just what I think of when I need to picture her in scenes from fanfics. I'll be perfectly happy to stow that look away in my head and manly-squee over however the people who made Tali, Tali decide how she looks.

The only other thread I lurk/occasionally post in is the Miranda thread.  I can't remember the last time I saw bashing of other characters in that thread.  But it is 620 pages long and I haven't read them all.

Anyway, it just strikes me as silly.  There are certain things I like about virtually every Mass Effect character.  I've even come around to liking Jack.

As I mentioned, though, Tali and Miranda are my favorites.  Almost all of my fanfics feature either Tali or Miranda, or both.
