Did some searching. Most people assume she is dead, but others are saying she is alive but exiled if never recruited. Unsure if any different dialogue.

You also lose a squadmate if you don't recruit her, since her shield upgrades are needed.

Was gonna post that answer too - without Tali, you lose the Normandy's shields upgrade, meaning that one squadmate will definitely die, usually the next Tech specialist down the line (so if you didn't recruit both Kasumi and Legion, you'll also lose your only Tech specialitist unless you take that squadmember with you to fight the Oculus).

Another bad thing is that if you lose your only Tech specialist due to not having the shields upgrade, you'll then have to lose another squadmember to the Vents (since only Tali, Legion, and Kasumi can travel through the vents unharmed with the right Fireteam leader).

As much of a fan as I am of the first "Razor's Edge" fanfic, I can't say I'm enjoying this new series as much unfortunately.... I really don't care for how Shepard developed: reminds me too much of someone with a death wish, a man trying to atone and be a martyr, so he closes everything and everyone that mattered to him completely off (and the Tali/Shepard relationship "break", if you wanna call it that, isn't sitting well with me either).

Well if anyone can help Shepard recover and return to how he was before, its Tali. Heck, that seems to be what the author is going for, judging by comments he as made and various bits of foreshadowing within the story.

I get what you mean but I think it's simply following the tone of the narrative that they weren't simply just gonna jump into right back each other's arms either. Also adds more tension/drama. (Altho I did want Tali to slap him 'literaly' to get some sense back into him.)

We aren't used to this since the game doesn't touch on this because for the sake of gameplay and time, as soon as you want to "make up" it just happens and off you go!

Storywise, maybe we end up missing out on the dreadnaught flirting but I think the author will make up for it later.

Ok, so i finally got back to the Geth dreadnought mission using the ME2 file where i didn't recruit Tali.


Total ****ing waste of time. It just plays through as though Tali died on Haestrom/suicide mission.
I deliberately got Thane, Jacob (no discernible positive or negative effect recognizable) Miranda and Garrus killed on the SM, didn't recruit Zaeed, Tali, Kasumi and swapped Samara for Morinth just to see what happens.



...turns out what happens is the game becomes boring.

Consider confirmed. Sounds uninteresting. Tali is like Johnny Walker Black. A girl for champions. Accept no substitute.

I don't even know any rabid NonTalimancers that would do that. I know some people who play fully renegade in ME and they still always recruit Tali and they always push the Hug Button on Tali's loyalty mission. They can't bring themselves to not do it. Tali is that amazing.
