It occurs to me that one of the reasons to prefer Tali as a LI is she is the only female that Shepherd has extended contact with that doesn't have serious mental/emotional issues.
This.
Also, why is it that the Miranda support thread has more posts than this thread? Is it because Tali will be a squad mate in ME3 and the majority of her fans were like, "Well, my job is done here. Time to move one."

agree on that, I cant seem to like any of the other LI in me2, Miranda is way too narcissistic and Jack depends on you fixing her way too much, Tali deals with her issues herself (dad dying and getting exiled) not needing shep to fix her. That said I dont really mind the other romances its just that in my mind they would never work long term, odd that I think the most viable LI in the game is the one with the alien hehe.

Hah, that's right. It's pretty great when the most adorable LI also comes with the least negative emotional baggage. Really, the only thing she ever shows is grattitude to Shepard for sticking up for her at her trial when he needed her, like always. It's a really nice built-up-trust-over-time relationship, where Tali finally works up the nerve to say (Or, at least, let slip) that she wants to be more than just the best friend one could ask for.
Which is why I really loved the ending to ME2, even if it was just luck. ME1: Shepard saves Tali's ass, she in turn saves his. He then counts on her to watch his back up until Saren gets capped. ME2: Shepard meets Tali again, later procedes to save her ass again. She continues to watch his back, until she really needs help. Shepard speaks for her at the trial and is there for her when she finds her father. SM: Tali begins sliding, Shep catches her. Shepard starts to fall from the Normandy, Tali hauls him in.
That ending was so satisfying.

Hello, daddy issues and all those quarian casualties that happened on her watch?Sethan_1 wrote...

Hey, come to think of it... those daddy issues must be why she's been infatuated with Shepard from the beginning. A strong male who commands respect and who fights a war for the survival of millions? Sounds like Rael, alright.
Nice, I just added another layer of creepiness to her romance that will never disappear from my mind's eye. Good going, Arcian, you dolt.

And Arcian's once again good for a chuckle, even though I don't think it was the kind he was going for. Sorry Arc, I know you try hard! =3

Ah Arcian, your sweet tears of self torture is like sweet ether to me.
In any case, I found that old video from E3 with Tali and some random quarian in ME3 for those who havn't seen it yet. I think the male quarian model got a slight update, I swear I don't remember those armor plating on the stomach popping out so much.

Oh I know, which is why I keep them in these tiny bottles to pull out when something needs to be killed with fire.

What if Tali had a "clean room" as her private quarters to walk around freely without the suit (If they ever decided to reveal her face or not in which I personally am fine with either decision) Then again she probably prefer to sleep in the engine room LOL
I can't imagene Bioware going from in a suit in helemet to walking around nude... but it would be nice....
Does anyone know where to get that Quarian font?

Khelish font.
Tali in a Zorb.Sepewrath wrote...
It would easier to get Tali and adult sized bubble lol.
That would not bode well, both for the Reapers and for Shepard.

Just stop by Illium and pick up a 20,000 credit sterilizer. Well, seems plausible to me after fish and models and space hamsters, oh my.

Not much of a difference other than graphics. All that place holder crap is still in effect untill BW can get to a position to change or alter the quarian apperances. Though with their history it's unlikly that much will change. Quarians reuse everything from ships to suits.

True, Quarians do recycle suits. So it wouldn't be a surprise if nothing really changes with their appearance. I hope tali's suit stays they same as well. Maybe a alternate appearance as a option, but I'm gonna stick with purple swirls myself.Lezlie.Shep wrote...

Ok, that strip was win. Similar territory to valley girl quarian, skewering the tendency of some fans to view Tali as part of the whole "ill girl" archetype, especially pre ME2. She's well aware of her physical limitations and handicaps thank you, treating her like she's made of porcelain in matters of physical intimacy is just plain insulting when she comes ground side with you and gets SHOT AT on a regular basis.
You sir, Are absolutely right.

Seconded. Tali was a freaking WALL for my soldier!Shep in ME1. Nothing got close to me so long as she stayed on my flank. I remember many firefights when the first I would see of an enemy sneaking up from the side was not their gunfire, but their body flying after getting hit with a point-blank blast from Tali's shotgun. I could stay comfortably focused down-range, knowing Tali had my back.
Sadly, the short effective range on shotguns combined with a modified squadmate AI caused her to be less effective in ME2... I'd have to constantly keep her from running into a mess of enemies. However, that all changed once the Geth Plasma Shotgun was released. Put the GPS in her hands and it's back to the old days again - that little bit of added range was all the new AI needed.
