It occurs to me that one of the reasons to prefer Tali as a LI is she is the only female that Shepherd has extended contact with that doesn't have serious mental/emotional issues.

Hello, daddy issues and all those quarian casualties that happened on her watch?

Tali certainly had a less than ideal relationship with her father - but she's pretty well-adjusted despite that.  ...and she gets closure on the paternal relationship on her LM.

She would certainly have preferred to not have had those quarian casualties - but the fact that they occurred doesn't warp her.

Both of those things affect her as they would affect any well-adjusted person - but they do not warp or define her.

Hey, come to think of it... those daddy issues must be why she's been infatuated with Shepard from the beginning. A strong male who commands respect and who fights a war for the survival of millions? Sounds like Rael, alright.

Nice, I just added another layer of creepiness to her romance that will never disappear from my mind's eye. Good going, Arcian, you dolt.

Daddy issues and survivors guilt aren't really news to me.  Hell, NuclearBuddha even lampshaded the hell out the daddy issues in Noir Tali is Noir.

Question of the day: How does tali brush her teeth?

I will reach through my screen and slap anyone who mentions "robot toothbrush" behind the mask. <.<

I don't think she does...she might get some sort of fluid...but I dunno...

then again, your teeth and breath get bad because of bacteria...so outside of their own natural bacteria, I don't think it's much of a problem...

hopefully this doesn't turn into another "sweat" conversation....

Can you come back later? She's in the middle of some engine modifications.

I'd imagine that her sterilized food doesn't really make a big mess with her mouth's natural bacteria, at least not nearly to the extent of ours. Between the cleanliness of suited life and sterilization, might be a non-issue.

That is likely to be accurate. If you examine human skulls from hundreds of years ago (like the ones I keep on my desk as paperweights) they have little tooth decay. But if you compare them to the ones within the last hundred years or so, tooth damage is prevalant. Why? Well, the major difference is that 'sugar' has been added to foods. It is amazing the damage it does.

So, as long as Tali stays away from doughnuts and lollipops (and judging by the size of her waist, I guess she does), she should be able to go for long periods without reaching for a toothbrush.

P.S. One of the above sentences was made up. Can you spot which?

Wait wait....you use someone's skull as a paperweight?   ...do you have a mustache that you twirl when you laugh deviantly?

Hmm... I'm sure about most of it, I'll have to go with the part that sugar's bad.

Also, don't most Quarians eat nutrient paste anyways? Not that a protesting Tali might get slipped more expensive Turian food that could be sterilized, but I'd have to guess that something labeled "Sterilized Nutrient Paste" ranks somewhere around water for tartar control.

Aren't y'all making an assumption that she even has teeth?  Quarians could have baleen for all we know, or one solid enamelled upper and lower bone, just two big teeth.  Or no teeth at all, since all they do is suck back paste.  She could have a mouth like a leech, designed for latching on and consuming it all.

Put's the Pounce into a new pespective, don'it? ;)

Don't think Quarians have any control eating anything else but paste outside the Flotilla. Meat alone is considered a delicacy.

Ah, yes, baleen, it's perfect! I knew there was something overtly whalish about those Quarians... Hell, now she can brush Shep's teeth during makeout sessions.

On a serious note, catlike, anyone? Maybe it's the glowing eyes, enhanced night vision and pouncing, but at least those back up canines, cartiledge-and-skin type mammal predatory ears, and some retractable claws.

It says that they have teeth in Mass Effect: Ascension.  Sorry to ruin your dreams of dental hygiene.

Acsension confirms they have teeth. That shoots your theory down with a BFG. :bandit:

No dreams.  Don't care if she had none or multiple rows like a frigg'n shark.  Some people take pointless sh!t waaay too seriously.

I do, however, find it curious that some don't mind the backward knees or the umbrella-shaped hips or three chicken fingers/toes, or that she might be purple, chalky-white or covered in frick'n quills, but even suggest that "their" Tally Wally might facially look even remotely alien,  - just her poor taste and lack of luck being non-human - and spastics are had.

Also, unless those teeth were described in some detail, "teeth" can cover over a rather broad range of configurations.  Just saying "teeth" doesn't tell you anything.

No need to be hostile.  Wasn't Tali-bashing, and it doesn't "shoot down" sh!t.  As I said, unless Ascension gave you specific toothy details, just saying "teeth" doesn't mean a damn thing.  That's like me saying that maybe she has mauve-coloured skin with orange polka dots and green tiger stripes and you spasm-yelping when the book clearly said she had "interesting skin".

So what?  That sez dick about how she actually looks.

What this really boils down to is just how much "alienness" Tali's ardent worshippers are willing to accept before they start whining it doesn't fit their own fantasies.

Personally, I hope Bioware shows some guts and actually designs her to be a frelling alien.
