So while I'm not one for the whole in game weddings a very fable idea for ME I was thinking what would her dress look like if she did get married? I came up with this little concept. It allows for all the extra fabric to be placed on around a special suit and before someone says thats alot of resources for the Quarians to expend I say it's a wedding!

Posted Image

She has an extra long veil that falls down to ankle length and the skirt part in the front is only there in the front it wouldn't be in the back sense the veil would cover that up. The sleeves are slightly off the shoulder and attach to the hoodie/ vest veil part allowing the suit shoulders underneath to show through.

A wedding I can't really see, but I can see is if shepard and tali survive the war they just grab a shuttle and get far away from everything and everyone just the two of them. I don't think tali would mind leaving the flotilla or maybe the homeworld for a lttle bit to relax with her spectre.

Ah, the Tali litho. I'm very happy with my mini-one. I don't have a place to hang the full size one, even if I could get my hands on it.

And I don't think a 'wedding' is all that far fetched....Calinstel fleshes out the whole bonding thing pretty well in his "To Survive" series. It may not be canonical but it seems plausible to me.

At some point during my third time reading that series my mind managed to sub-conciously accept it as canon.  That might be a problem if Bioware ever comes out with info on quarian culture.

I've said it before and ill say it again, I don't see a wedding happening. Not with quarians being so insular and still being galactic pariahs. 300 years of prejudice doesn't just disappear overnight, even if they do help save all life in the galaxy.

Sooo... What does Quarians being insular and "300 years of prejudice" (Guessing this is referring to the galaxy towards Quarians, although humans are very new to the scene, remember) have to do with Tali & Shep hooking up officially, whether that be bonding or marrying (Or both...)?

Are you saying that you think they would be prevented from joining? I mean, maybe with some set circumstances, if they hadn't saved every living organism's life three times by the end of ME3, but taking that into account...

I'm saying there's no way they'll be able to get a.formally recognized marriage. I couldn't care less personally, and I'm unsure if a culture as warped and utilitarian as the quarians would even have such a system anymore.

I imagine that the galaxy will add one more thing to riot over if shep and tali's relationship was revealed publicly. I don't expect that to come out in 3 and everyone outside of the Normandy is ok with it.

We know how the galaxy over all doesn't like Quarians and if you killed the council you now have them not liking humanity so combo that with love and they'll be throwing fits bare minimum which I'd expect and if BW reveals relationships in game I hope they do. I can see all human and Asari relationships being a non contested issue, thane and shep they'd be like what? over, but with Garrus I can see some one having issues and with Tali I can see a whole bunch of people having issues. Realistically we don't even know how the Quarians as a whole would feel about it Cerberus gave them a big reason not to let another human near their ships.

And this is why we build tali a home, kids. Quarians might not even have weddings, even then their 'bonding ritual', I'll call it, might not allow for other species.

Especially when Space Jesus is also half Terminator and is imbued with the essence of Chuck Norris.

Honestly, he's Commander Shepard. I daresay most people here in this thread will, by the end of ME3, have not only helped the Fleet at Tali's trial, but also saved it completely during the War, brought them peace and the return of their homeworld (We're going to be fighting on it, it's pretty obvious we'll get a chance to save it for them), and earned galactic respect, at least a little. On top of what was already earned in ME1 when Tali became the first Heroic Quarian and Shep&Co saved the universe's collective ass.

So I really don't see why anyone would *want* to try and deny them bonding (I prefer it to marriage, as thesedays marriage seems quite cheapened), much less how they would try to go about doing it. The man is solely responsible for destroying a fleet of machine gods, I wouldn't want to tell him he couldn't have the happiness that all relationships should be able to have with the woman he loves, no matter the species.

Yeah, you might be be the ultimate in Big Goddamn Heroes, but she's still a filthy bucket. That's the real issue.

And on that matter, I hope to hell this sort of issue comes up in ME3, so Damien can turn around and say "yes, I love Tali'Zorah, and if you have a problem with that, please direct all complaints to my friends here, Mr M5 Phalanx, and Mrs M98 Widow AMR, f*** you for asking."

Meh, I think pistol-whipping some teeth out is a good Paragon interrupt for that sort of thing.

Go paragon bashing interrupts! Though I do hope if issues come up in 3 we can defend her or any other LIs shep has and maybe one for LI defending shep?

I think it just needs to be recognized, and I mean fairly often. You got a remark from Kasumi in ME2, and Mordin gave you some "friendly" advice and information, but other than that, no recognition that you're with Tali. Similar circumstances for everyone else.

Hell, in LotSB you jump and save Liara over your LI from getting hit with a flying table? Especially in a case like Tali, what with suit ruptures (Not that there is much in-depth like that in the game). Or Jack, being naked and all. That's why I've yet to get that DLC, actually. Think I'll take the sarcastic Turian for that bit when I finally do. Heh heh.

I'm a little late to the conversation, but if quarians were to have some sort of wedding suit, I doubt they would be long pieces of fabric. There is a resource issue (buy I doubt that would be a problem since you would just trade for one) but the actual length of the fabric would he absolute hell in the tight confines of a quarian ship. The cloth could snag ona large number of things, from low hanging wires, to cargo nets, bolts on the walls, you get the idea.

So a ritualistic suit for a wedding (or comparable event if they have one) would likely be designed to be snug about the body. Quarians seem to love color, so I suspect bright and "loud" colors depending on the "bride." To stand out quarians also put various odds and ends on their suit, (something we don't see in game due to every quarian sharing the same model) so perhaps various trinkets, neckwear, paint. feathers(?) etc.

Of course this is all speculation, and we don't even know if they do weddings.

I know that the shadow broker dlc was about liara and all, but when you see tali with a huge piece of furniture on top of her just laying there... it made me sad : (

Which is why you send in the one that's already been hit in the face with a rocket, knowing he can take a table like a champ.

That scene irks me to no end, and while I like Liara, it just screams "canon romance".  It'd be easier to dismiss if I didn't always insist of taking Tali to every single mission with me, forcing me to take exception.

Same way. Tali was always with me, except for the last dlc where shepard goes in all "lone gunman". Didn't like that at all.

I s'pose leaving Tali behind is for the best, though. He taunts her about the deaths in her squad if you bring her with you.

Shep is nothing without his squadmates ;)

Exactly. THough my Shep(Dante, after the man who wrote the Divine comedy) would say "THEre is no other for me, if you have a problem with that, I have a M98 Widow AMR, and a M8 Avenger. F**k You for even thinking of Tearing me away from MY Tali(I honestly couldn't think of a cute nickname for The cute quarian, Help Me?) and just for even thinking, here is a bullet. you get one chance to run.....starting....now"
Honestly I have moved in front of Tali, to take one for her..For Miranda? No. For Samara? no. For Kasumi? no. For Jack? no. FOr Legion? Yes cuz he is my second fave. Geth are awesome. and I kinda saw him as my best friend in ME2, but that was only one mission
