Liara might have recovered your body ( Miranda and illusive man did the rest and they were right behind her anyway so it wouldn't have mattered ) but she pretty much abandoned you back on ilium. Tali however stuck with you since ME1 . She followed you through the suicide mission, and she pretty much abandoned her own people back on rannoch in ME3 to come with you! And people still claim that Liara cares the most for Shep? Damned fools !

It was just a build up for her becoming the shadow broker. Miranda and the illusive man was like 10 secs away anyway , and they did all the hard work. Not like it matters anyway, it didn't happen in my playthrough. I hated the entire idea since day 1 ( LOLOLO YOU DIE AND SUPER SPACE MAGIC SCIENE RESS U TROLOLO ), I just ignore that the entire thing ever happened. Normandy was destroyed and Cerby gave me a ship + resources cause the alliance are douches and the council don't believe in the reapers end of story........

   No super space magic sciene ress someone whom died in space then fell all the way down onto an unknown planet and became a pile of goo story for me.....

Of course they did give her more screentime with Lair of the Shadow Broker.  Didn't see any DLC for Kaidan or Ashley, though.

Granted, I'm still hopeful for the Leviathan DLC having some romance-specific dialogue in it for Tali (or any characters involved).  If we can't have a romance DLC (like LotSB), then I'll take what I can get, and headcanon the rest.

Yep, don't know who writes Liara, but Patrick Weekes writes for Tali, and was also the lead for Tuchanka in ME 3.  Did a great job on both.

Then again, there were those comics with Tali in it.  There, not so much.

I actually thought Liara was cute in ME1, but then her voice just didn't fit her at all in ME2 and 3... Ali hillis is so god damned bland and boring. I fall asleep everytime she talks.

  Look at joker in this video, that's how I go everytime liara comes into my cabin uninvited after my nightmares...  

Tali evolved SOOOOOOO well from ME1, I am not even embarrassed of admiting that I have a nerd crush on her ( a big one ). So well written too, I just wished they would've shown us her face ingame on rannoch. It would have been perfect .

 I don't HATE liara I just think she's so damned boring and gets way too much screen time even tho she is not my LI..... Some people feel like they rather have an ingame sex scene rather than cute and well written LI development I guess. Tali and sheps relationships develops A LOT throughout the series.

Patrick Weekes is easily the best writer on the team, his responsible for all of the best moments !

Maybe so, but she didn't outright bash you for being with Cerberus like Kaidan/Ashley. Granted, she knew you were with them, but didn't shun you for it.

nope, but neither did Tali ( she didn't approve tho ). Kaidan was more '' okay '' with it in the end than Ash xP. I can't stand ash..... When Ash got pissed at me for '' using '' cerby in ME2 I just bashed my head into the table.

Only reason people go for Liara is because she throws herself at the player. Pretty much only reason I did in ME1. Her bipolar behaviour only gets worse in ME2 though.

By time ME3 comes around, alot of characters seem to have gotten no development:

Miranda - Repeats her sister/father obcession. Still neurotic. No real development.
Ashley - Repeats her sister/father obcession. No real development besides becoming a spectre.
Jacob - Positive development in desire to be a father, although femshep romance makes him look like a massive dick.
Garrus - Develops more, talking about his family and new responsibilities as one of Turian Heirarchies leaders.
Tali - Develops more. Relationship with Geth, other admirals and her position of leadership.
Jack - Develops are fair bit. Leads a school. Wish there had been more of this development in ME2, since it comes out of nowhere in ME3.
Kaiden - Develops more. Talks about his family, his squad, what he has been doing. Seems more interesting.
Liara - Does another bipolar shift in personality to Shepards bff. While nice, I can only see the reason being that Garrus might die. No real character development besides minor parent discussion.
Mordin - Develops more. Shift towards fixing his mistakes, guided by emotion more in his last years alive.

Grunt, Thane, Wrex, Kasumi, Samara, Zaeed - Nope. No development here. They are all busy with their own stuff, no screen time. Wrex just stays on course.

Maybe for the EC we should have petitioned for a Weekes rewrite of it. He could probably make a better ending.

Aww cmon personally I think Liara is awesome. I consider her my Sheps best friend and even with everything she does. I honestly don't think she would ever try and steal Shepard from Tali or any other LI really. Imo she's just as adorable as Tali. Both of them just make me go dawww all the damn time...Obviously i'm more bias towards Tali tho.

I guess i'm just sick of the Liara bashing, it occurs everywhere. Happens to Tali a lot too in the other character specific threads (some more than others). It's like they are both the most loved but also the most hated heh...

Anyways i'm really hoping Leviathan gets a release date soon I need me some new Tali content!

I don't hate Liara, but you can't deny the fact that she's shoved in your face a lot during ME3. Of course, for those who love Liara this is great...but for everyone else it's a bit of a struggle not to get irritated by her.

And about Leviathan, there will definately be some Tali dialogue to look forward to - they most likely recorded the lines when they brought the voice-actors back for the EC. I'm not sure if there's going to be any romance exclusive dialogue, but we can hope! From what i've seen so far (and from this), Leviathon looks quite promising. Can't wait for it!

I never said I disliked Liara... I disliked her character arc within the games and comics. They were trying too hard with her personality switch from ME1 to ME2. It was too drastic IMO.

Its not Liara I am upset with... I am upset with whoever wrote her character arcs... I'm not bashing, I'm just saying why I am not fond of her...

What's with all the hate for Liara?

I did not played ME1 (I own a PS3) and the interactive comic is really just for you not to get lost with all the lore, but she was fine in 2. And let's face it, the only one of your old team who didn't turn you down was Garrus in Omega. Shadow Broker is what a single player DLC should be like, really.

Oh hey! I wasn't picking on you or anyone specifically.

I just saw all the posts talking about Liara and her character development/role. I understand that people don't like the whole being "forced" on you thing. Cuz I feel the same way about another character. I dunno I guess in this thread i'm the minority since aside from Tali, Liara is one of my favorite characters. So I don't mind it... Anyway this isn't the Liara thread so let us all talk about Tali instead!

Oh and what a coincidence I too am quite fond of Tali.
