So, let's say the Mass Effect movie happens for real...how would you guys like to see Tali portrayed? Would you want them to explore what she (and other quarians) look like under their suits and masks, or would you prefer that they leave it ambiguous? If they did explore what they really look like, what appearance would you want them to go with?

And what might they do in their portrayal of Tali that could upset you?

Personally, I'm still hoping a ME movie never happens - the games are enough - but if it *does* happen, I hope they keep her character true to her personality. And I get the feeling that Hollywood wouldn't be able to resist showing her face, even though she likely wouldn't be Shep's love interest, so I would hope that they keep close to her canon appearance, lazy as it is.

Yeaaah, I'm going to go with you on this one. We all know how Holloywood is afterall. Anyone remember those Tekken, Resident Evil, or Tomb Raider movies. I kinda don't want to have to hate mass effect or tali Because of Uwe Boll.... ok i'm sure bioware would never be that stupid.

I don't think they would have time to explore that depending on what they need to show for the movie's runtime.

As long as her personality isn't changed and she gets some good screentime.

I was wondering whether they would use a high quality costume (not sure how hard it would be to get the lower legs to look accurate this way) or just high quality CG. Either way I would prefer a body actor and have Ash Sroka come and  voice her.

Same thing for Garrus and Wrex. Their VA's all could still be used for these characters at least. Would be a nice throwback to the fans.

If there is going to be a ME movie, I would want it to be set in the gap between ME1 and ME2 after Shepard's 'death'. I don't think Shepard should be involved in the movie as every person has a different interpretation of Shepard (Male or Female, Paragon or Renegade etc.).

After the death of Shepard, the Alliance quickly commissions a N7 Black Ops team that are sent to investigate any Reaper-related occurrences in the galaxy and to search for any clues as to who destroyed the SR-1. The story could follow this team and could also incorporate cameos from crew members that served on the SR-1 such as Garrus, Tali, Liara etc. It could also be used to expand the lore of the ME universe, such as the background of Cerberus.

As for Tali's appearance, I think she and every other Quarian should stay masked but this is Hollywood and they probably wouldn't resist the urge to unmask one on screen. Also, I'm pretty sure that Tali's VA has said in interviews before that she would love to play Tali in a movie if it does happen, so I hope she gets cast for that role.

I would rather they not do a Mass Effect movie, considering that many movies based on video games have turned out to be garbage. Plus if they did do one, it would have to be with Shepard and everyone with him because more people can relate to them than they can with original characters. The downside to that would be that some people would probably be disappointed with the way Shepard is portrayed because not everyone has the same Shepard.

And as for Tali, I agree that Hollywood would eventually unmask her; the temptation is too great. Also, more than likely, she would not be the LI for him, which would disappoint me (see what I mean?).

A Mass Effect movie, to me, just wouldn't work because there are just too many variables to take into account.

Yeah I hope they don't do a Mass Effect movie. Too easy to mess it up.

As for Talis character in this movie... I would hope they never unmask her in the film (but I expect they would), and I would hope that even in ME1 set timeframe they portrayed her as a strong character (but I expect they would portray her as a young helpless girl who Shepard saves). I realise she doesn't become such a strong character until ME2-3, but she has enough in ME1 that she is respectable.

If there was a film though, who do you think would be the love interest? I know everyone says Liara is biowares pet, and most players did romance her, but I think that is because she throws herself at them in ME1. Would Hollywood use Ash as a LI, for the tension that happened in ME2 and to keep her relate-able as a human?

I lean toward thinking that Hollywood would use Ashley as the love interest. Blue alien ladies are good and all, but human characters are more 'relatable' to mainstream audiences.

I agree wholeheartedly.  Imagine the alienation of fan-groups by picking fem or maleshep, and then their respective LI's (as Casey Hudson is in charge [director, right?], I'm pretty sure they'd go with Liara).  And as you said, Shepard's portrayal would be different for each person.  I just don't see it being too successful if it were to happen, even if the original actors are back (and especially if they're not).

You know I actually like the Resident Evil movies... Tho i've only played 4 and 5 plus I like the main actress. >_<;;

But I too rather not have the movie happen I would probably end up feeling the same way I felt after seeing the Last Airbender...That movie was such a disgrace to the show. Makes me angry just thinking about it lol.

I kinda wouldn't mind a animated movie tho (like FF: Advent Children not that silly Vega anime). That take place after Shepards death on the SR1 or the events leading up to ME3. Maybe show us what Tali and all the characters were doing during that time or something.

I've never seen FF: Advent Children, but I've heard its really good. As for The Last Airbender...just...shamefur dispray ,Owe, shamefur.

Oh and,Tali'n'stuff. Don't want to stray to far from the forum's main point.
Resident Evil however is well past its prime. Games and movies alike, I think its time to let the old dog rest.

After all the other LIs I went through, this combination (which I've done so many times and doesn't get old) just seems to fit best. Of course I am biased and you develop your Shepard how you see fit and how you believe it.

An ME movie would defeat the primary purpose of the Mass Effect games, which was to tell YOUR version of Commander Shepard's story. I did like the idea of a movie set in the time between Shep's death and resurrection.

As for the LI's.....
1 - Liara, only because I pretty much think she jumped me.
2 - Tali
3 - Tali

I did want to try a playthrough with Jack, since she's the 2nd most interesting character (to me) in ME2, but then I found out how they treated her romance in 3 and went...blah.

Playing through a femshep right now, mostly because of Traynor.

I think (needs confirmation) that the virmire survivor is the backstory love interest if you start an ME3 default file.

Well if you choose default(new file starting at ME3) Mshep, Ashley is always the survivor and kaidan for Femshep.

Or does it let you choose the vs at the starting menu? I forget.

It lets you choose. You can also choose numerous which makes a bunch of characters die (not sure who though)

Are you guys talking default like default action mode? Cuz action mode is so silly it makes Shepard kill either VS at the coup...lol. And basically dumps and says no to any LI you talk to. It's confirmed there is no default LI! ;p

@Tokaki you should still give the Jack romance a try ;p. I love her paragon romance. The talk right before the actual lock in is probably one of my favorite conversations in the game. Actually I love all her talks heh. Might've been a good thing for me that Jack wasn't a squad mate. Tali would've had some serious competition... >_<

Lol. Yeah well, even if  Liara or VS were default LIs they can have them. If they didn't play ME1 and ME2 they don't deserve the better romances like Jack or Tali.

You realy should go read the origonal Razor's Edge (covers ME2), one of the best fan-novelizations ever and is in no way depressing.

Now, Razor's Edge Requiem (the sequel that covers ME3) is at this point kinda depressing, mostly due to Shepard's rapidly deteriorating mental state thus far.
