Hold on...so that tool is putting a pic of Tali through a filter which turns it into a painting? And takes a *day*? :x

Actually, it is generating the image from scratch.
Each 'mutation' is a random change to one parameter of a polygon, either color, transparancy, size, shape, or location of vertices. After each mutation, it checks the new image with the one that it is meant to replicate. Any mutation that makes the generated image more like the one being replicated is kept.
For this render, I am using 500 polygons with 12 vertices each. I'm alternating between the four different kinds of mutations (the different kinds just change the severity of the mutation) as I go along to create the most 'improvements' I can.

Honestly, when talking with Conrad Verner on the Citadel about thermal clips and how stupid they are, I have to agree with him. For once.
And @Spartanburger, that's a pretty cool find. And of course it's pretty cool what you're doing with it too.

Somehow, I looked at that and found it intriguing. The picture does look like it's coming together though, spartanburger!

Oh god I'm happy I found this thread. I love it.
Glad you're enjoying it!
Getting to bed here soon, so I'll ask another Tali question: If there ever is a romance DLC, what would you like to see in it?

Always like this one. Looks like Shepard's surprise of Tali-themed bedsheets made her happy.

^^ Bryson, if your profile is anything to go by you're a PC player. So why on Earth haven't you played ME1?? 0.0
I'd literally kill to own a copy of ME1 on PS3.
You'd kill to own something that was never made. BioWare never ever made a PS3 version.
And they never will.

I really doubt one is gonna be released but something that kinda made me sad was that Tali didn't get a sweet little "date" on the Citadel like all the other LI's on your squad. I don't really count that "suit rat" conversation as one. Or taking back Rannoch which was Patrick Weekes reasoning for her not getting one (If I remember correctly). So that would be nice. You know aside from the obvious stuff that will never be seen *coughrenderedfacecough* ahem.18 Brains wrote...

Heh I was going through some files on my computer and found the old leaked script back from Nov. I remember there was a convo that seemed like it was a date between a romanced Tali and Shepard talking about what they were fighting for. And feeling guilty about shore leave but that it was important to them. I assumed it was between those two cuz Rannoch, Flotilla, and Xen were mentioned lol. Among other things relating to Tali. Seemed like it was after the Xen plot they took out. *Sigh* reading through it again makes me imagine how cute that scene could've played out. T_T
Ok enough of me rambling at 2 in the morning...
Damn they only have those skins for Droid 3 and not 4. I'm using a purple case on mine maybe I should just draw Tali's famous swirls on it. Still using one of Gust4v' dancing Tali gifs as the wallpaper tho...XD

Tbh, I don't know how a 'romance DLC' would even *work.* Presumably it would need to have content for every LI, so if it were to be substantial in any way, it would require a whole lot of work on BioWare's part.
If it was just a generic 2 or 3 hour mission where you took your love interest along and they had new, specific dialogue, I would be content to hear Tali's voice and some new banter.

It seems to be a very subjective thing. Some people like her for looks, some like for personality, some like her due to being an engineer and tech, some like her due to having chicken feet (but that's a whole different thing), and some people like her for a combination of the above.andrew688k said...
hi, fellow Talimancers, I am new to this thread and this is my first post here. I always question myself, "why do people(including me) love Tali so much?" So can you guys tell me the quantities that you like about Tali to help me solve this mystery?
Personally, I like her personality and the fact that she's been with the team from the very start.
Also, welcome to the thread

She's funny, charmingly awkward, loyal, and IMO easily the most affectionate love interest in the games. On a more practical note, I also think her romance arc is the best written.

Rendered.
In-game.
(and maybe an extended love scene between her and Shepard before the Chronos Base.... like maybe just showing them actually kissing lips-to-lips or Shepard helping her remove her suit as well....)

Great pictures! I really like the first and last pictures.
Thanks. Glad you like them.
About the romance DLC, I want to spend some time with Tali on the Citadel, just like with Garrus. Or maybe even on Rannoch after you destroy the Reaper base. That's all I want.

I imagine most people its a combination of the above. Her personality is great, the suit is attractive while making her mysterious (so doubly attractive) and being a tech makes her more attractive to me since I love geeky girls. Her voice is fantastic aswell, really charming and interesting.
I tolerate the chicken feet. Reading some fanfic though I am confident some people have fetishized them.
