Against my better judgement, I went in search of pictures in the Miranda thread, wondering if all were like the one above, and found some interesting conversations involving Tali.

Now, I don't think I've ever really hated a character out of simple spite before, but it seems that there are those who do.  I like Miranda as a character, but found that she was too static for my tastes; likewise, there are plenty of those who disagree, and claim that they can't stand Tali because of her being annoying, childish, etc.  Just because someone doesn't romance a character you like doesn't mean you have to bash on their character, and vice versa.

I might venture forth again and explore the other threads, but a first impression is hard to break.  This place is pretty chill, so I think I'll just stay here.

Plus, we've got Tali.

Hard to pin down what's really my favorite bit with Tali. I guess I would have to say the Rannoch arc because of the massive flirting they were doing on the dreadnought, and just how... real the relationship is toward the end.
As for the Miranda and Tali pic... that's too much.

 @18brains mmm you saw that in that thread too? Might be coincidence but everytime I peek in there it's to bash some other character Tali especially. I like to browse the other threads too which aren't that bad seem quite friendly actually. But never have I seen that much hate for a character as I do in there...But if that is what makes you feel better heh.

Well, a lot of the people in that thread are bitter - very bitter - that Miranda didn't get a squadmate slot in ME3. That's understandable, of course...but quite a few of them seem to take a lot of their bitterness out on Tali, which I don't understand at all. I know quite a few people dislike Tali (god knows why, it's hardly warrented) but a lot of the hatred seems to orientate around Miranda-mancers. It baffles me.

Though I guess you've got to consider the romance wars between Tali and Miranda fans just after ME2 was released (though I wasn't around at the time, I heard that they were pretty vicious). I don't doubt that has something to do with it.

I think their hate for Tali might also stem from the fact that Tali is one of the more popular romance options, and for anything or anyone that's popular, there are always people who dispise him/her/it.

Well, I didn't post then, but I did lurk from time to time, and it could get pretty bad.  Still, one would think that they would celebrate and support their character, rather than bash and compare to others.

Personally I'm secure enough in enjoying Tali's romance that I don't feel compelled to lash out against others' choices.  While I don't enjoy everything about the other characters' romances, it just seems too trivial to talk about a character as a LI and then say something along the lines of "mine's better than yours!"

The thing is it goes far beyond just bashing the character tho...They lash out at the fans as well it's like they feel the need to point out why they think they are better people than us too. If that makes much sense. Ok fine you wanna bash the character go ahead you have the right to express your opinion but is it really necessary to bash the actual person too?

Ugh getting way off topic so um...Yeah been playing Sleeping Dogs to keep me occupied until Leviathan comes out lol. I'm totally ready for some new Tali dialogue!

When Shepard calls Tali, "Mrs. Vas Normandy" I always imagine her wearing a diamond tiara carrying a bouqet of roses waving at her adoring fans like she just won a beauty pagent.

That's the outfit for his multiplayer FQE or FQI. The two I use are a black and gold one and one with dark grey camo
