^^ So many fanfics! I'm only reading Razor's Edge at the moment, but since it takes up to a fortnight for each chapter to release I guess I should branch out a little.

I'll read yours and give you some feedback Werdna, but it'll have to wait till tommorow. It's past midnight here and i'm feeling pretty drowsy =]

Ha ha, just read it.  Good to see the gang getting back together, and even a familiar nickname pertaining to the picture above.  Awesome!Posted Image

heh thanks. Kinda seems weird for Shepard to take control of the normandy. Its James ship, and he's not the only spectre aboard. I am enjoying this though. ^_^

Part of me feels the characters relationships should have evolved further than they have, but then I remember my father talking to his friends of 30+ years - they act like kids, reverting to the stage they first met. Have to admit I do the same with my old friends.

I remember one of the early chapters I got really confused when you had Luara and Liara in the same conversation. Names are too similar at a glance.

I have permanently bookmarked a few series:

Family Doesn't End in Blood

Wings of Fire

Adamo

For We Are the Many (including the prequel, really developing into a great series)

Spectre (takes a while, but gets very b'awww)

To Survive (probably my favourite series, around 500k words)

Read all of these?

I've read Adamo. It was okay, I really liked some parts of it but the rest was...well, not for me.

Haven't read the others though! You've given me a lot to work through, Apathy =]

:) If you've not read To Survive, I highly recommend it. Its a filler for ME2 to 3, although the things he does would have driven the ME3 plot in a different way.

Hes very creative, and created alot of khellish words that are used in other fanfics. Marriage ceremonies, traditions and meanings in Quarian culture too.

Its in three parts.

To Survive - This is immediately after the collector base is blown up. Normandy is stranded in the galactic core. Later escape, marriage, honeymoon etc.
To Survive: Alliances - This is later on, with Shepard and Tali trying to get peace between the Quarians and Geth.
To Survive: Terminus - Final part. Trying to unite the terminus systems. However ME3 ending came out, and it drained him emotionally from writing any more. He left his plan for the series as a last chapter, and quit.

Adamo is probably one of the first fanfics I ever read, and while its very good, I am rereading it now and it seems to lack the flare or creativity others have pulled off. Only the last few chapters really shine because they go off the ME2 plot, but then he stops updating.

I was disappointed with how that happened.  It looked like a solid plot, and that he still had yet a fourth book to make for it.  The first two are good, though!

Just read the Spectre story, right up to the last update.  I'd say four months is a long time between updates myself, but am unsure if it's still going.  Since my first fic follows along the plot of ME 1, there were quite a few similarities to my plot, but I'm glad that I wasn't the only one to think of those things.  Still, it is a somewhat darker story than some others, but it does have its moments.

Adamo is another abandoned fic, although I found it wasn't entirely to my tastes.  While you can't force it, it does make you wish some of the others would finish what they started.  Posted Image

Welcome back bahooga mooga smooga. Just giving you a heads up that my story is on a hiatus due to my laptop's registry being all jacked up that it's become unusable.....and Costco still hasn't shipped my desktop :|. So, I probably won't get back to writing until next weekend I'm guessing.

Has anyone made like an epilogue video out of Garry's Mod or spliced game footage? It doesn't need to be super well made, I'd just like to have something to "end" the game with other than "Hmm, I'll LOOK UP" game over. Short stories are cool I guess if nothing else exists, if they are really good. I ask because awhile back I saw someone do something with Liara like this.

Right now, I'm trying to see how possible it would be to create a sort of video "epilogue" for my Mass Effect 3: The Fanedit Series video project (either as actual animation or as those type of 'epilogue slides' of the EC).

Currently it's a debate between using XNALara with character models for still shots (aka, for slides) or to use actual character models in an animation program (which means upgrade my copy of Lightwave, but that's a bit of a b*tch since Newtek increased the price of their software upgrades... :pinched: )

Yeah, this is exactly what I'm looking for - I would prefer the animation to be honest, but a well made slideshow thing would be incredibly appreciated.

I was always astounded at how many stories there are on FF that just die without even a note from the author years later.
If I ever do that, I expect some of you to come beat me about the head and shoulders with a very large trout.
Now, back to work on the next chapter.

^We will keep that in mind. :P

Started on Ch.4 of my fic. It might be shorter than normal, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm currently trying very hard to avoid letting that happen to my own fic.

Yeah this is part of the reason I don't start fanfics. I have a plot lined out that would take 30+ chapters, but knowing my attention span I would burn out after 5.

So is it just me or did the people that run FF.net pull a Stalin era purge on alot of the stories there? Also Death to all 1st person perspective stories.

I hadn't noticed. As for first-person perspective, I think it can be very effective, but I can't imagine it working in a fanfic.
